- A new 2024 stereo mix, based on the 2023 Giles Martin version. This is one of his better remixes. The instrumental backing sounds especially good and seems to benefit from the wide panning of instruments, something I'm not normally keen on. I have added stereo backing vocals to the mix. And I have also fixed the abrupt fadeout that was present on the 2023 Red album remix.
This replaces the upload I made a few hours ago! I have reduced the level of the vocals, so the guitars are more prominent now. Thanks to the regular commentators who pointed out my mistake. Unlike some other channels, I don't delete critical reviews, in fact I welcome them. It keeps me on my toes!
Another great song from the 60s, a decade of great songs sounding better than they did when released. Thanks Pat 👍👍

Wow, I've listened to several other TH-camrs take a stab at this. You've got the vocals spot on! It's exactly what the song needed. If I had a critique it would be for more bass. Unfortunately Hofner bases are not known to be punchy especially in the early Beatle recording years. Great work!
Thanks David. I tried messing around with Paul McCartney's bass playing on my remix of Taxman. It didn't go down well with the critics, so I tend to leave the bass well alone now !

FWIW, I play some bass and own a Hofner bass. They're great for stage work because they're light and their fretboards are small but the trade-off is in the sound.

Nice, but I sure wish you would turn your talents to doing stereo remixes of deep cuts of other groups that haven't been remixed already. Maybe Moby Grape, The Animals, Youngbloods, The Association or even album tracks of The Buggles, which no one has done. Thanks
I've uploaded remixes of songs by the Animals and The Association. I bought the album 'The Age Of Plastic' back in 1980. I especially like the track 'Elstree'. But it's a really well produced album. Not sure what I could do to make it sound better!

I think I've done the worst sounding songs on the 2023 Red & Blue albums, Manuel. Any future remixes will sound only slightly different. It's the tracks with mono backing vocals that I like to remix the most.
