  • Only 5% of Fortune 500 CEOs are women and only a handful are minorities. Meanwhile, studies show that companies with more diverse leadership perform better. Mellody Hobson, president of Ariel Investments, vice chair of Starbucks, and a director of The Estée Lauder Companies and JPMorgan Chase, says the time for corporate diversity is now. She says it’s time for companies to stop talking and start doing. Hobson shares with us the critical role diversity should be playing in your company’s reinvention-and how corporate America can set benchmarks to hold people accountable.

I was once hired by a pharmaceutical company and the district manager who hired me basically told me that I was hired or he was specifically looking for black candidates because hiring diverse candidates became a part of his evaluation in other words he only cared about hiring a diverse salesforce win it impacted his raises his career his evaluation his personnel file🤷🏽‍♀️

I respect her completely, but I think she has a skewed view. I just listened to her ted talk and her stats were seriously off. I would love to hear her have a conversation with Thomas Sowell.

How do you know that it is HER stats that are off? Did you research the stats to be sure there is a disparity or did you simply accept the stats of someone else, i.e. Thomas Sowell, because those stats fit your narrative? Also, did you take into account the time period she was speaking of, because her TED Talk was more than a few years ago.
