She has got at least three priceless qualities: her explanations are clear and thorough, she's appreciative, she's got good sense of humor and style...... she's an ace.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👠💄👠💄👠💄👠💄👠💄👠💄👠💄👠💄
From a tiny country in Europe (Denmark is its name): I just 'discovered' Mellody and I obviously missed out on someone really important(impressive? wonderful? brilliant? humble? powerful? ). I am very impressed and enjoy her presentations !!! We need MORE people (not like but doing similar things) as her
Awesome podcast episode! 👏 Mellody Hobson nailed it with her take on financial empowerment and workplace diversity. 💼 She's all about making finance accessible and helping people improve their lives with money 💰💡. I was particularly struck by how she's stayed passionate about her one job at Ariel Investments since graduating college 🎓 - that's a rare commitment! She shared some interesting thoughts on value investing and why it works for her.📈 The part about workplace diversity and social justice was enlightening too, especially how she’s advocating for better representation and inclusivity. It's great that she uses her experience to push for social change.💪🌍 Loved her analogy of being a 'boyar' inside corporate America, learning and contributing, while also advocating for financial literacy and social justice. Lastly, her thoughts on the importance of 'color bravery' instead of 'color blindness' were really profound 🌈. It was a refreshing perspective that invites more dialogue about race and inclusion. Great chat overall! 👍 Has anyone else found their 'jam' in their work the way Mellody has with finance? And how do you see the conversation on racial and workplace diversity evolving in the future?
40:40 Diversity gets overwhelming for MANY people who sincerely cares but the WEIGHT of RACIAL PREJUDICE is too much for some to discuss to the point of (1) Understanding (2) Seeing the Visual without turning away (3) and taking Action with HOPEFUL OUTCOMES.
I love Elise, I’m sure she’s a great person, I know she went to Yale and is obviously very intelligent...but, for comic relief, you have to listen to how some of the questions are phrased. Example: “When you, think back, what’s your, what’s your favorite? (Keeps talking) I wanna talk about financial literacy and I wanna talk about social justice, and I know you’ve been, it’s your one job right?” W. H. A. T.
As a black male, I feel like a misfit. Generally speaking, I'm treated better by white people. I wish this wasn't the case, because I desperately want to be accepted by other black people without having to sacrifice my personal sovereignty.
Love your podcasts, however when interviewing the guest, could you just nod your head in agreement or something without constant audible moaning type of sound. It takes away from concentration of the message being delivered. Other than that fantastic presentations!! Thank you!
This is ridiculous.. her husband is George Lucas. One of the richest man in Hollywood. Look at his company’s zero diversity. Goop do you have any Hispanics in your company?
That’s how you interpreted that little story? She was saying that she loved her job and the work she does there. That’s it. Naturally, if someone moves from job to job, that likely indicates that they didn’t like something about the job. She hasn’t had that experience. It doesn’t make her better, she just found a company that she loved.

Great observation on the mourning!!
Finance is my Passion lmao
this is satire.... right? LOL. these people live on a different planet
Goop must mean vocal fry in some language....
Someone tell me how spending $5,000 on some cotton shirt or a jade egg for my kooter is financially empowering.
I think I got cancer using goop and I think I am going to die
That's not Funny, it speaks volume's about the person you are!
@@chrislungo2705 ever heard of a joke but edgy
Why does she think she's better just because she's only had 1 job? Seriously what's the correlation there with 1 job means better?
This is ridiculous.. her husband is George Lucas. One of the richest man in Hollywood. Look at his company’s zero diversity. Goop do you have any Hispanics in your company?
She made about 50 other points and you focus on that one??? See...this is the unfair treatment she’s speaking of actually. Be better.

Now I'm hearing victim-blaming about the financial crisis. Yikes.
