Thanks for reviewing the latest iteration of my AutoFPS app. I decided to stick with the tried and trusted functionality of the last MSFS 2020 version of this app for MSFS 2024 and that seems to have paid off. I am glad that you are getting such pleasing results and hope that others do too. FYI, a small update will be released in the next week or so that includes some fixes to minor issues that I have discovered as well as any other issues of note that invariably come up after formal release.
Hey thank you for helping people who struggle with 2020/2024 fps issues. Your app is truly amazing and is helping the community out so much during this rough patch. Appreciate your hard work keep up the amazing software!
Thank you so much for this update @ResetXPDR and thanks to islandSimPilot for always keeping us in the loop regarding such updates. First tests on my side were great, I only noticed one small thing and that is TLOD Max can only be set to a max of 10000 ft which could be problemtaic when running up to TLOD of 600 as VRAM usage on decent will only start reducing again from 10000 ft.
@SheldonSimone Fair point, however the side effect of a higher TLOD Alt Top is that you have to be much higher before you can achieve the TLOD Max you have set. I can increase the maximum TLOD Alt Top in the maintenance release coming out next week. What do you suggest I cap it at? How about 30,000ft?
Just tried this out on 2024, it's absolutely amazing how much better this makes flying feel. Low fps I can deal with, but the stuttering is absolutely annoying. The complete lack of stutters after using this just feels like a whole new experience. Definitely recommend for anyone who can't stand the stuttering.
I’ve been waiting for AutoFPS to be updated for 2024. I am on day 2 of 2024 and my first flight had a few stutters. Of course, I hadn’t done my homework and updated the dlss/dlssg files. I upgraded to a 4k 144hz monitor (all 43in of it) and discovered that I couldn’t scale up and down. I am glad to see it worked for you and thank you for the update!! So far I am cautiously optimistic about how 2024 is going. Works better on a VPN than not, but so far it hasn’t crashed!! A good start!!
I appreciate this breakdown. I'm using AutoFPS to mostly increase the TLOD far beyond what's possible in game. I have it increase to 800 at certain altitudes. I did realize though that I was not seeing any traffic anymore and finally figured out it was because I had auto OLOD on and it was reducing my OLOD to 20 when at altitude. I guess traffic is affected by this. So, I turned auto OLOD off and now it works great! I didn't know about how the fps target function worked though, so thats great to know. AutoFPS is something I recommend to everyone now, even if they don't need it for performance. It just helps to make the sim look better and run more consistently across the board. I am curious about the night mode though. One thing I've noticed is, at altitude, even with the night mode deselected and TLOD at 800, I can see a distinct point where the street lights no longer spawn in and it becomes more or less a flat night image. It would be cool if the night mode somehow decreased the detail of the stuff we can't see but increased the LOD distance of streetlights and other things like that, though I realize that may not be possible. Either way, combining this mod with DLSS4 with frame gen is great and I'm going to try your secondary scaling fix in an attempt to improve ghosting. If I can improve the ghosting while maintaining the same image quality as using DLAA, I would be amazed!
Love your posts but just a small suggestion: when checking apps like this, you should test on challenging sceneries and with heavy addons. This will give you a true indication of how this apps can help. Testing on a small plane and on small airports , with your system specs, 9 out of 10m times will be "buttery smooth".
Exactly!!!!!! Finally someone else realizes that of course it’s gonna be “buttery smooth” when you’re flying in a place with barely no scenery and in an extremely simple plane with a top notch pc…
Whilst I do agree its super easy to get great performance flying around small islands and surrounded by 360 degrees of water the app works. Its simple to test even without it, manually lower your TLOD to 50 and you should see a performance gain even in detailed payware scenery surrounded by scenery objects
I think sometimes we can easily forget that these YTs are doing all this for the love and in their own time and at the end of the day we can all do additional testing and feeding back rather than expecting him to do everything for us! I’ve taken this app, in VR, to LAX and it does a good job (of course needs to be in Auto TLOD Method because I’m using SSW ) and given LAX kills pretty much all including 4090s I think this app is well worth the money (nothing!) and the time to watch this very helpful video 😮😮)
@@MrNeilRoberts "I think sometimes we can easily forget that these YTs are doing all this for the love and in their own time" Wrong. they do it for MONEY, which is OK. Don't be naïve.
" with your system specs, 9 out of 10m times will be "buttery smooth"" - what specs might that Be? CPU, GPU, RAM, VRam, etc. I looked for it in the description, but maybe you could save me some time and research. Sounds like you know! : )
Appreciate the video! I watched through and honestly never been happier to find someone who wants to give such an informative video on the software! I mean I hope you can keep us updated with these kinda videos as 2024 progresses but also when there is updates to the software. Appreciate you!
Yep once again your videos made a sim run great on my system, 2020 after several of your videos I jumped from 24ish fps with stutters to a smooth constant 60fps. And now for 2024 the same So thanks you very much you are doing a hell of a job with this Chanel 😊
so before the latest patch my sim was working extremely well, since the update I have had the issue that many have had that while on the ground at a lot of airports, fps is un usable, should I probably wait until Asobo addresses that in your opinion, and as always thanks for the content!!!!!
Me too, after the patch many missions are unplayable due to fps massive drop. Even at low settings i get 13fps 100% gpu usage and many artifacts on the screen. I didn't have the problem pre patch but there are people who had it since the release.
NOTAM - The new MSFS 2024 1.2.8.0 update released today broke my and kayjay's AutoFPS app for many. Edit: A new version 0.4.4.1 has been released fixing this. If you experience CTDs in MSFS when using this app after updating, it is likely that your MSFS_AutoFPS config file has become corrupted. The quickest way to fix this is to run the app installer, select the Remove button, close then run the installer again and click Install.
"This guy" didn't make Auto FPS, he's just bringing it to our attention. Also this won't a thing if the database gets overloaded again or the servers go down. The main thing that needs to work in 2024 is the cloud side.
Wow thanks for another great helpful video. I have only just upgraded my system from 1080TI with a Ryzen 5300x to a RTX 4080 Super with Ryzen 9500x, and was only getting 23-32 FPS in VR. Now that i have frame gen on getting up to 37-44 fps, hopefully now with Auto FPS i can get it bitter smooth and stable like yours.
How can I change it that objects on the ground appear sooner? I fly to remote airfields that the runway has markers along the edges but I don't see them till the last minute
There was a recent update of both the Auto FPS & MSFS2024. Since then my Sim crashes after spawning in on any airfield with any any aircraft. Removing the latest Auto FPS solved the issue. Hope to use it later again
I keep getting MSFS Compatibility test failed error each time I start a session. Everything seems ok (green) for a second then immediately this error and does not work for my 2024
A new version is coming out shortly that may fix this for you. There is a test version available right now if you want to try it. If you still have an issue after installing it, raise an issue on my github.
Great to hear! Yeah I think 2024 is actually better than 2020 performance-wise, and this program works even better in 2024 than it did in 2020. This program blew me away.
This sounds awesome.... they obviously didn't do much (or any) actual testing of 2024.... it reliably rubber-bands on EVERY landing as it late-loads data for streaming about 40 feet AGL... a wonderful time to rubber-band.
Great video as always. I definitely agree that the 2024 implementation of the auto fps is subpar. This version, which btw, there is a new test release, is much better.
Hi ! Thanks for you video. At the beginning of the flight, you say that TLOD and OLOD indicated by Auto FPS are higher that those you usually set. But if I'm not wrong, the settings that appears on ground at the beginning of a flight for TLOD and OLOD are those which are set inside the sim settings :) They begin to change only once you take off.
In non-expert mode, the setting are based on, but are not the same as, the sim settings when on the ground. See the readme which describes what they are set to and when.
@@ResetXPDR I thought when Use Expert Setting were unchecked, the following internal settings were used by the app : TLOD Minimum - VFR 100% of your current MSFS TLOD setting, IFR 50% TLOD Maximum - VFR 300% of your current MSFS TLOD setting, IFR 200% and Auto OLOD - enabled and VFR 150% of your current MSFS OLOD setting, IFR 100%. I thought they were determined multipliers. I'll see again. What I'm investigating is the TLOD Base + setting,... very promising :) Thanks for you work by the way ;)
@@Lostania0 Yes and my point still stands - the settings on the ground are based on, but are not necessarily the same as, your MSFS settings while on the ground. In any case, I am glad you are enjoying the app!
@@ResetXPDR Hi :) There was an MSFS 2024 update today and it seems that FG is not recognized anymore by AutoFPS. Do you confirm ? I have an RTX 2060 and I use the FG mod. Thanks !
Thanks again for keeping us up-to-date. All I can say is WoW! I was experiencing some stutters, especially when looking out my right and left windows and seeing that I like flying helo's at tree top level this is amazing, never saw anything under 45 FPS and TLOD stayed above 300 with out a stutter at 4K, 3840X2160, as you put it "smooth as butter". I'll try and do a video tomorrow, but with the conversion to 1080 when streaming, it won't do it credit. Cheers and thanks again!!! One question, have you heard any good news on BN-2, 2024 updates?
i am currently using the auto FPS from ResetXPRD (Version 0.4.4.2) but with the latest sim hot fix (version 1.2.11) the TLOD is not changing when using the automatic setting. Dont know what is the reason behind...
Many thanks, well explained as always!! Runs perfect in MSFS2024 on my 3 x 2K mon. & RTX3080 (latest driver) in combination with the framegen mod and latest dlss files. Great!!
Unfortunately this program made no improvement for me flying VR in 2024. I made two identical flights from Grand Case to Princess Juliana. Same micro-stuttering, same inconsistent framerates, and same massive FPS drop at TNCM. Maybe my PC is already at minimum specs or something, but unfortunately AutoFPS didn't improve anything. I also tried "auto target fps" vs the manual target set to a low 36 fps (half of my Quest 3 refresh), but didn't see any difference in smoothness either.
A new version is coming out shortly that may fix this for you. There is a test version available right now if you want to try it. If you still have an issue after installing it, raise an issue on my github.
Afraid I've had nothing but problems with Lossless Scaling since I updated to 24H2, particularly with the screen freezing but the sim continuing in the background, frantic Alt Tabbing when you're on final to get it back is not ideal😆. Switched to the Frame Gen mod and found it a lot better than I remember in 2020.
Thanks much for video and creator of software - on Steam version crashed my pc shut it off - restarted pc and it worked fine - so if you install this reboot after install as mentioned below - I have 4080 super oc - it was pretty smooth on my OLED 48" tv to begin with other than all the bugs - what I think I noticed is the terrain looked more define at altitude - have to research more but that said I haven't seen a negative so far
There is a link now on the original link that points to a MSFS 2024 version. Tried it and it installed OK but will not start. Looks like it gets stuck in tasks and I have to manually remove it. Any suggestions?
Just completed a stutter free VR flight in 2024. So many bugs in vr still... cursor is tied to left eye, vr menu so hard to get up, coms not auto scrolling to latest messages... ugh. Thanks for the video though, very helpful!
Update: I ran my first flight in MSFS 2024 with the Fenix A320 from TJSJ to TNCM. Started out great, ended up terrible. Stutters were extreme and what is puzzling is that this was with lossless scaling and AutoFPS. I was running ultra settings, but when backing it down to high, it did zero good. I seriously doubt this was a problem with AutoFPS, since it is fine in 2020. This is a wholly 2024 issue. What I did get was a continual "error to load ai traffic data" so I wonder if that may have been the culprit. More testing to come.
I would suspect the traffic. Did you have the window "on top"? I have found that when you do that, you have click back into the main sim window to shift the focus from AutoFPS to the sim or it will stutter. If that makes sense.
@@IslandSimPilot I thought so too. I disabled it. Made no difference. I thought it might be not enough rolling cache, so I increased that from 16gb to 30gb. No significant difference. I then applied Air Bossman's hack and that made it better, but after a couple of laps around San Juan, I got stutters again after I landed. To achieve this required ULTRA performance and HIGH settings. ULTRA was not achievable even with ultra performance...which it should not have needed given my rig and new monitor. Going from ULTRA performance to Performance made it worse. To contrast, I did exactly the same loop in 2020. I used exactly the same config, 30gb rolling cache, Air Bossman hack, updated AutoFPS and Lostless scaling w/Map Enhancement Mod. Absolutely smooth as glass. I am running on a 1Gb internet connection so I average about 850-950 down and about 800 up. I use NordVPN to avoid throttling. My rig is an i9-13900KF, 64gb of RAM, RTX 4080, 2X 2TB Samsung 990 Pro NVMe sticks plus a separate 1GB HD for Windows. 2020 on one, 2024 on the other. This build should handle it without breaking a sweat. The only things left to assess is whether this is a VRAM or a bottleneck of my system RAM, but either way, I am not certain what a longer flight would reveal except really bad stutters on the approach. Ideas are welcome!!
Hi, the general tab appears the first time I start the program but it is not showing when I am in session??Also my olod gets down to the 20 when I am above the clouds?should I turn off the g-sync?
I have revised the window display behaviour in the upcoming maintenance release due out in the next week, which hopefully resolves the issue you were having with your general tab disappearing. Also, as ISP says, OLOD up high can be low because you can't see the detail in objects from that height anyway.
Hoping you all can help me find a solution to the problem I'm having. I have the latest version(4.4.1) of the AutoFPS mod. The latest nvidia drivers. I play in VR with an a HP reverb G2 v1. I'm running a 5800X3D and 3080 10gb with 16gb of ram. AutoFPS connects to msfs2024 and it simconnects, however it never connects to the session. I believe because it won't connect to the session that I don't get the benefits of the autofps software. My frames look like they're in the toilet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Not sure how complicated this can be. I installed (v. 4.0.0.1 or something like that) and followed everything to the point of the box showing “Update”. I get a message saying it is already running. Not sure how considering I just installed it. Please HELP. It now reads “Please stop MSFS_AutoFPS and try again.” It’s not even running!!!
It is probably hidden in the system tray, which the readme explains. A new version will be out in the next few days that keeps the icon on the task bar by default, so I suggest you wait for that one or try out the latest test version of it which is nice and stable.
@@ResetXPDR Hi. I am still having the same issues. Even though I had to figure out a way to do the new update, it is still not running correctly. What's worse., even if I wanted to Uninstall it, it won't let me.
Great video! Could it be possible for you to post a picture of your current settings (v0.4.4.0) for MSFS 2020 in the Community chat of your channel? Thanks in advance.
I can acces the general options. When I launch autofps i have Connection Status and Sim values. But I can't change the frame target or acces expert options. Am I missing a key or something??
@Mr.anonymuis Try downloading the latest 0.4.4.2 version, check the Clean Install option when installing it then see how you go. If still having a problem, raise an issue on my github and I'll look into it more.
This problem has been ongoing for several months. I am currently using 0.4.4.0 The app works just as it should and modifies TLOD and OLOD as I wish. However, I am not seeing the control/display box where one can change values. I was seeing the box and experimenting with Expert Mode but now - no box of information. I start GPU-Z and then start MSFS_AutoFPS. No sys tray icon appears and no AutoFPS display appears but Task Manager shows AutoFPS running. NO anti-virus running ON TOP is checked Alt+Tab does not show the app BUT... I've now found that after a remove and reinstall - the app behaves as expected and the control box appears on the display. I can start and stop the app with no adverse effect. I find the app with Alt+Tab and Task Manager shows it running as an APP Then - for no apparent reason - the next time the app starts it runs as a Windows BACKGROUND process and no display box shows, I cannot find the app with Alt+Tab and it does not exit when MSFS ends. But - while running as a background process - it works PERFECTLY. I can't find anything about why an app would run as a foreground process and then suddenly become a background process. I do find lots of stuff about preventing apps from running in the background BUT, at least on my system, MSFS_AutoFPS is not installed as an app. It does not show up in either START (system startup) or APPS. And all the instructions to prevent an app running in the background depend on finding the app on the system which, does not happen here.
STRANGE NEW UPDATE I have isolated the problem - after a fresh install MSFS_AutoFPS works perfectly and shows the appropriate data on the screen. IF MSFS ends normally the MSFS_AutoFPS app (running as a foreground process) also ends normally and will start normally the next time I want to use it. IF the sim ends abnormally for ANY reason (task manager: end task, CTD of any type, SysTray Icon:close window) the MSFS_AutoFPS app (running in the foreground) ends but then instantly restarts or is "moved" to the background by some function in Windows. The same effect occurs if I stop MSFS_AutoFPS in any fashion when it is running as a foreground process. It instantly becomes a background process and the result is as follows. After being moved to the background - MSFS_AutoFPS will never start again as a foreground process. The only way I can find to resolve the problem, after an abnormal sim termination, is to remove and reinstall MSFS_AutoFPS. ???
It would show up win11 try the little up arrow on the left side of your bottom tool bar. Lil doggy icon should be there. Oh and I believe the dev is releasing an update soon to address this exact issue. AWESOME ADDON!
There will be an update coming out, probably today, that changes where the app resides from the system tray to the task bar and it will should no longer hide like it used to sometimes. A test version with this change is available right now where you downloaded the app.
Thanks for the info. I have a question. When I switch to VR mode I no longer see the menu for AUTOfps. I only see the menu when in 2D. Is there a setting or am I doing something wrong?
I wanted to try it, but it would constantly run and never close unless I would go into task manager and end task. After doing that it would become glitched out and not open unless I uninstalled and reinstalled.
great video and i think ill start using it... a question... do i need to adjust any IN SIM settings first? Cheers and thanks for youre excellent tutorials!
Initially I wouldn't change any of your in-game settings. If you get amazing performance, then I would start slowly increasing various settings until you hit a plateau.
Non-expert mode will base its settings off your existing MSFS settings. In expert mode, you can make your own settings. Either way, the app restores your original MSFS settings when it exits.
Great video showing again your high skills level on MSFS Performance topic. Although Frame Generation is enabled in MSFS graphics settings, AutoFPS status does not switch to 'FG Active' but always shows up 'PC DX12'. I have applied all recommendations regarding FG in FAQ page with no results. Moreover, TLOD or OLOD values displayed are always 0. Any clue on how to troubleshoot this issue ?
Any thoughts on whether this increases the amount of scenery data streamed over the network connection? For people with bandwidth and/or data cap issues
@@IslandSimPilot Been difficult to understand how the sim is handling what it pulls down, seems pretty inconsistent to me so far. Only complicated by the fact Asobo said the caching is not yet working as it should lol. Nonetheless AutoFPS looks very useful, appreciate all the work you do to show off things that may help!
If your settings result in higher overall LODs being used for most of the flight, then yes I suppose it will increase the amount of data streamed. If you don't want any increase, set the TLOD max under expert settings to be no higher than what you were running as TLOD before this app and your system will download slightly less data because it will sometimes be using lower TLOD than this, but never higher.
I left mine as they were, which honestly were mostly Ultra to begin with. I would try it with your normal settings first and then increase them if you have the performance headroom.
Thanx for another great video? 🙏 Question about VR and Auto FPS. I use Pimax Crystal on 120 Hz, with Smart Smoothing. So if I get 30 fps, the headset will deliver 60 fps. (Every second fps is «fake». How will Auto FPS read my fps in the headset? Will it think that I have 30 or 60?
Hello ISP. I have loved the AutoFPS app in MSFS2020 since you first highlighted it. I installed the 2024 version today and have had lots of probelms gettting the app to work and 'stick' to the main sim. I installed it as per your preferred way, after un-installing the oirginal 2020 version 'just to be sure'. I can double-lick on the AutoFPS icon and the program launches, then I launch MSFS24 ... however, when the sim is running, the AutoFPS app will then 'disappear' and it looks like it has closed. I then get a 'Critical Error' dialogue box on screen, that says 'MSFS_AutoFPS is already running!', as if I was trying to re-launch the app? The AutoFPS app icon then disappears from the task bar as if the ap has shut down. However, if I double-click on the AutoFPS icon on the desk-top to try and start it again, I get that Critical Error dialogue box again? I have no idea what is going on, but I have a sneaky feeling there is something conflicting with FSUIPC? I have also un-installed the new AutoFPS app several times and re-installed it, with no better result. SO off. I have never had any through with the MSFS2020 version. Most frustrating and confusing, especially as it seems like all respondents below are having no issues.
I haven't come across this one before. Please raise an issue about this on my gihub repo and include your log file and I'll see what I can do about it.
Actually, thinking about this some more, when you say you uninstalled the original 2020 version did you run its installer and select remove or did you manually delete the directory? If the latter it was not uninstalled correctly and that's probably what the issue is. You didn't actually need to remove it as the new app installer uninstalls the old app automatically. In any case, try this: 1. Run the installer for the new app and select remove to uninstall it completely. 2. Download the installer for the old 0.4.3.1 and reinstall it with no autostart options. 3. Rerun the installer for the new app and reinstall with no autostart options. That should do the trick.
@@ResetXPDR Thanks for your reply. I am totally confused about this. I didn't use the internal uninstaller. I used Revo Uninstaller and 'cleaned' it out. Stupid me. Now, now matter how many times I try and install AutoFPS, or whether I launch MSFS 20 or 24, the app doesn't work and I get that weird 'the program is already running' dialogue box. Is this a .NET issue? As I said above, I have had the app working for ages in MSFS 2020 with no issues. I have updated .NET to the supposedly current version 9, but I can't imagine this is the issue. I roled .NET back to 8, and same problems with AutoFPS. I am sure I have 'destroyed' something and it's not an app issue.

type in a figure higher than 400 and it will input it into the UserCfg.opt file. Adjusting in the sim is purely limited by the slider. Theres one well known contributer on Avsim uses something like TLOD 900
In non-expert VFR mode the app can go up to 3X higher than your current MSFS 2024 TLOD setting, but no higher than 1000. Just because it can it doesn't mean it will our should. TLOD 1000 will choke even the most powerful of systems.
This works great ... for one session. When starting a second one the settings windows is invisible. Uninstalling and installing gives you another session, but then no joy again. I have read the readme file that accompanies the programme but I couldn't find anything in it that solves the problem. No matter how I exit the programme, clicking on the icon again does start the programme (the task manager says so), but the settings window is nowhere to be seen. There is no icon in the taskbar either. I would really like to use this programme, I think it's wonderful but having to uninstall and install it every time I want to use it is a pain in the ... @resetxpdr: Hi, and thanks for this great tool. I have an issue though. Installing the tool gives no issues. Sim runs, AutoFPS runs and is receiving data from the sim (I can see the FPM number change and all 3 connection types are 'green'. However, the TLOD and OLOD figures are not changing, they are stuck at 0 (zero). Also, as per instructions in this video, I have turned on auto FPS, but instead of seeing a FPS number, it just says 'auto'. As far as I can judge, there IS a connection between the tool and MSFS 2024, since I see the FPM number go up/down when ascending/descending, but the other data doesn't seem to flow... Any input would be appreciated :-) Thanks.
OK - I just read a tip by @kayjay1c6b on Avsim, suggesting you let the tool run for like 5 minutes so it can do it's thing. Also some settings to be done in the sim... Will advise.
@@ResetXPDRGreat work on this. One thing: If you click the x to close the app, it is still running ok but you can’t then reopen the app again to see or change settings without a reinstall. Is there an option to have it default to visible again by reopening? Cheers.

First tests on my side were great, I only noticed one small thing and that is TLOD Max can only be set to a max of 10000 ft which could be problemtaic when running up to TLOD of 600 as VRAM usage on decent will only start reducing again from 10000 ft.
@@ResetXPDR thank youuu for bringing this amazing program to 2024 !
@@ResetXPDR this app has saved both games , thankyou, msfs should shower you with money 😅
Installed it today and flew the Fenix A320 from ESSA to EFRO, like you said, butter smooth. By the way many thanks for your great videos.
You're quite welcome, thanks for the kind words!
Awesome, this was a life saver in 2020. Glad to see it ported to 2024!
Hey buddy! This program worked wonders for me, hopefully it does the same for you!
Works fantastic. Smooth as butter again. Thanks dev! And thank you for the headsup!
They havent updated this for the beta 1 test version yet. Maybe in the next few days hopefully
Somehow missed this one for 2020 - looking forward to giving it a try for 2024. Seems simple and straightforward. Thanks for sharing!
Definitely worth a shot. Thx for sharing 👍
Works like a charm. Thanks for the heads up, you are the man, brother!
Appreciate the video! I watched through and honestly never been happier to find someone who wants to give such an informative video on the software! I mean I hope you can keep us updated with these kinda videos as 2024 progresses but also when there is updates to the software. Appreciate you!
Installed. Thanks for the vid would have never known about it if it wasn’t for your vid same goes for your DLSS swapper vid.
Yep once again your videos made a sim run great on my system, 2020 after several of your videos I jumped from 24ish fps with stutters to a smooth constant 60fps.
And now for 2024 the same
So thanks you very much you are doing a hell of a job with this Chanel 😊
Thank you so much, Paulo, I really appreciate the support!
omg thank god for autofps in 2020 , so look forward to trying this
Was waiting for this and I just knew it would you be you to tell us !!! Thank you 🙏
Glad to help!
Just got 2024 for my birthday. My quest two worked perfectly. Just need to do a little fine tuning otherwise pretty happy out of the box.
Happy birthday!
@ thx 😊
Happy Birthday, so you use Auto fps also in VR.? Is openxr toolkit necessary, too?
@@Harryguitar58 Yep, Autofps works in VR too. Toolkit is not necessary perse, but I also use that. Especially the FFR option saves me a couple of fps.
@@Harryguitar58 It works in VR, not sure about openxr toolkit though.
Yes MSFS2024 has just become useable for me, what a fantastic bit of software, thanks for bringing this to our attention :)
Love your vids man!! Big help
Thank you for the update. I was waiting for Auto FPS
so before the latest patch my sim was working extremely well, since the update I have had the issue that many have had that while on the ground at a lot of airports, fps is un usable, should I probably wait until Asobo addresses that in your opinion, and as always thanks for the content!!!!!
Me too, after the patch many missions are unplayable due to fps massive drop. Even at low settings i get 13fps 100% gpu usage and many artifacts on the screen. I didn't have the problem pre patch but there are people who had it since the release.
I love this app, I have been waiting for this it worked so well for me in 2020. Thanx for the heads up bud, your the man!
Really appreciate the support. And for me this works BETTER than it did in 2020 - like, way better. I'm blown away!

Talk about timing! Shoot. Sorry my friend!
I'm having CTD with Autofps and MSFS2024. Latest version, performed clean install, and restarted the computer... Nothing worked. Does it work for you?
So MF you need to hire this guy even if it’s a day a week to work on performance as he seems to get it all working so well.
I just get a little bit of screen teaching using Auto FPS normally vsync would cure but with MSFS24 you have to turn off frame gen to work.
There was a recent update of both the Auto FPS & MSFS2024. Since then my Sim crashes after spawning in on any airfield with any any aircraft. Removing the latest Auto FPS solved the issue. Hope to use it later again
It's working again, by un-installing and re-installing Auto-FPS again
@@MarcelBooij I was going to suggest that. Some user's config files were corrupted with the 1.2.8.0 and removing/reinstalling fixes it.
@ResetXPDR thnx!
The 3080 is a piece of art dude... what do you expect
Works well mate. Thanks for the recommendation. I am surprised how well it looks and performs on my rig and I only have an RTX 2080 Super.
@@ResetXPDR I thought when Use Expert Setting were unchecked, the following internal settings were used by the app : TLOD Minimum - VFR 100% of your current MSFS TLOD setting, IFR 50%
TLOD Maximum - VFR 300% of your current MSFS TLOD setting, IFR 200% and Auto OLOD - enabled and VFR 150% of your current MSFS OLOD setting, IFR 100%.

Yeah I was honestly stunned how well it works. Happy flying!
As with all videos with the title, your mind is going to be blown. My mind is not blown.
I’m sorry to hear that your kind remains unblown. 😊
Thanks. I'm gonna go try it now!
Thanks, Mike, I've been wondering about this.
Hey Jim, you bet! Flying again tomorrow late afternoon if you're around, and this Sunday as well. Hope you're well!
i am currently using the auto FPS from ResetXPRD (Version 0.4.4.2) but with the latest sim hot fix (version 1.2.11) the TLOD is not changing when using the automatic setting. Dont know what is the reason behind...
UUUU AHHHHH EEEEEEE however I will stay with 2020 as long as possible and Thank you for another Awesome video Thank You
Many thanks, well explained as always!! Runs perfect in MSFS2024 on my 3 x 2K mon. & RTX3080 (latest driver) in combination with the framegen mod and latest dlss files. Great!!
Do you use g-sync?
@@martindescoteaux9288 no
I noticed you get the ghosting on take off on the cockpit window, do you know a way to stop this?
I used AutoFPS in fs2024 and it makes a difference
Do you use mfs map enhancement? i used it but i have bugs with it. The graphics without this addon are still very good.
Wil install it ASAP in MSFS2024 , I alway use it in MSFS2020, thank for the tip.
At my pc, "sessions" stays red. What might be the reason? The app doesn't see to be active then.
A new version is coming out shortly that may fix this for you. There is a test version available right now if you want to try it. If you still have an issue after installing it, raise an issue on my github.
I use loseless scalling for 2020. It is fantastic.
FINALLY.
works avesum with overall better details and buttersmooth performance
Very interesting! Does it interfere with popped out panels?
Yup.. also frame gen deactivates when the sim isn't the focus.
I would ditch the MS2024 traffic, and go with Fsltl traffic and BeyondATC.
Hi, the general tab appears the first time I start the program but it is not showing when I am in session??Also my olod gets down to the 20 when I am above the clouds?should I turn off the g-sync?
Hot the On top checkbox in the app. And you don’t need high olod in the air, that’s fine. And you can leave gsync alone.
I have revised the window display behaviour in the upcoming maintenance release due out in the next week, which hopefully resolves the issue you were having with your general tab disappearing. Also, as ISP says, OLOD up high can be low because you can't see the detail in objects from that height anyway.
Hello, I installed auto fps, but I noticed especially on the mountains I get the scenery changing slightly, is it my settings or auto fps regards
Do you know if it will work on a triple screen setup, or it will only see the main screen and base your settings off the 1 monitor?
Not sure about multiple monitors, the readme doesn't say anything.
@ thanks for getting back to me.

Have you found a way to change that orange color when TLOD is changing?
thank u for letting us know
I dont understand, does this also improves visuals? Like texture quality, resolution etc, or it compromises it for performance gain?
This problem has been ongoing for several months. I am currently using 0.4.4.0 The app works just as it should and modifies TLOD and OLOD as I wish. However, I am not seeing the control/display box where one can change values. I was seeing the box and experimenting with Expert Mode but now - no box of information.
I start GPU-Z and then start MSFS_AutoFPS. No sys tray icon appears and no AutoFPS display appears but Task Manager shows AutoFPS running.
NO anti-virus running
ON TOP is checked
Alt+Tab does not show the app
BUT... I've now found that after a remove and reinstall - the app behaves as expected and the control box appears on the display. I can start and stop the app with no adverse effect. I find the app with Alt+Tab and Task Manager shows it running as an APP
Then - for no apparent reason - the next time the app starts it runs as a Windows BACKGROUND process and no display box shows, I cannot find the app with Alt+Tab and it does not exit when MSFS ends.
STRANGE NEW UPDATE
I have isolated the problem - after a fresh install MSFS_AutoFPS works perfectly and shows the appropriate data on the screen.
Hi can you tell me how to get auto fps on top of the flight sim, I just cannot do it regards
I wanted to try it, but it would constantly run and never close unless I would go into task manager and end task. After doing that it would become glitched out and not open unless I uninstalled and reinstalled.
The log file will tell you what's going on. Contact the dev about it and send the log file.
@ResetXPDR I will look into it. Thanks.
great video and i think ill start using it... a question... do i need to adjust any IN SIM settings first? Cheers and thanks for youre excellent tutorials!
Initially I wouldn't change any of your in-game settings. If you get amazing performance, then I would start slowly increasing various settings until you hit a plateau.
Non-expert mode will base its settings off your existing MSFS settings. In expert mode, you can make your own settings. Either way, the app restores your original MSFS settings when it exits.
thank you for the video!
Can somebody tell me what key binds you use for outside viewing, in msfs2024
Great video showing again your high skills level on MSFS Performance topic.
Although Frame Generation is enabled in MSFS graphics settings, AutoFPS status does not switch to 'FG Active' but always shows up 'PC DX12'. I have applied all recommendations regarding FG in FAQ page with no results. Moreover, TLOD or OLOD values displayed are always 0. Any clue on how to troubleshoot this issue ?
Any thoughts on whether this increases the amount of scenery data streamed over the network connection? For people with bandwidth and/or data cap issues
Now that is an excellent question, I really don't know.
@@ResetXPDR Good points, thanks!

In any case, try this:
1. Run the installer for the new app and select remove to uninstall it completely.
2. Download the installer for the old 0.4.3.1 and reinstall it with no autostart options.
3. Rerun the installer for the new app and reinstall with no autostart options.
That should do the trick.
Check the app tray in the lower right of your screen - it shows there where you can right click and exit to properly close the program.
@ASPEN6558 Very strange! Raise an issue on my gihub page and I'll look into it some more.
Hi how do you get auto fps showing on top of the flight sim, regards
click the "on top" option on the app window.
I am missing something somewhere as I have the shortcut on my desktop but when I double click a small window appears which says "MSFS Autofps is already running "- but I don't see the App window -- any comment /advice greatly appreciated
Readme
@@ResetXPDR I did read through Readme but i was unable to find a solution to my stated problem - I now wish to uninstal but , as has been the case all along , when I double click the MSFS_AutoFPS.exe file to remove it I get the message -"MSFS_AutoFPS is already running" which prevents any further progress. Any assistance greatly appreciated.
@@ResetXPDR As a elderly person just wanted to let you know you have proved something to me which will remain unsaid -- Merry Christmas and Happy new Year
@@NormanHolden Sorry, I was a bit short but I was getting a lot of questions yesterday that were easily found in the readme and it gets a bit frustrating. In any case, the latest update changes where the app icon resides and you should no longer have this issue if you upgrade to it. Merry Xmas to you too.
@@ResetXPDR Installed and all looking OK - Thank you.
I am still using this amazing software for 2020 along with lossless scaling app. Am a bit confused does loosless scaling need to be scaled at the same time as running msfs auto fps because msfs auto fps app seemes to be running the loosless scaling with that open and not set to scaling. Hope that makes sence. Thanks for your vids always look out for them
Thanks for this video. It's always exciting when a new video from you, IslandSimPilot is going to be released. Even with a 4090 it is as smooth as it can be!
Might be a silly question but how to you get tlod higher than 400?
type in a figure higher than 400 and it will input it into the UserCfg.opt file.
A question please, why while loading a flight in MSFS2024 I always get a warning, Error accessing Air Traffic Data? Please clear for me this up
I got that for a few days too, and now it's gone. No idea, sorry!
@ by the way thank you so much for your super quality, informative videos, helps so much everyone in the community
I get that all the time. Might be limited bandwidth, everyone accessing the data, too many people online? don't know really
Does anyone have a solution for this?
There will be an update coming out, probably today, that changes where the app resides from the system tray to the task bar. A test version with this change is available right now where you downloaded the app.
@@ResetXPDR Ah, thank you for the quick response. And thank you for the programme. I think it's great. I'll await the update. :-)
How do you set up the expert option for IFR?
The readme tells you what all the settings are.
Raise an issue on my github and I'll see if I can get you sorted. TH-cam won't let me post a link sorry.
OK - I just read a tip by @kayjay1c6b on Avsim, suggesting you let the tool run for like 5 minutes so it can do it's thing. Also some settings to be done in the sim... Will advise.
Such an important program. You really need something constantly changing the lod during flight otherwise msfs is too inconsistent.
thanks for the vid! Very helpful. One quetion, what shoud one set in 2024 graphics settings, regarding Dynamic LOD, ON or OFF ? thanks!
It doesn't matter. The app switches it off while the app is controlling the show, then restores your original setting when finished.
@ ah great! Thanks for clearing it up!
Doesn't matter. The app turns them off while it is in control and restores the original settings when it is finished.
@@ResetXPDRGreat work on this. One thing: If you click the x to close the app, it is still running ok but you can’t then reopen the app again to see or change settings without a reinstall. Is there an option to have it default to visible again by reopening? Cheers.
@@bobbob8765 You can reopen the app window again by finding the icon in the system tray and either double clicking on it or right click Show Window. Try that first.
