I think by the design and ships crests of the two Canadian Destroyers, it’s first HMCS MARGAREE and then HMCS SKEENA, both St. Laurent class destroyer escorts. I might be wrong though!
For what it's worth, I read over Newport News' schedule for 1966 and it doesn't mention a port visit in Canada. It does mention a Halifax visit June 21-27, 1967 in company with USCGC Humbolt WHEC-372; USS Harry E Yarnell CG-17; USS Zellers DD-777; USS Vogelgesang DD-862 & USS Graham County LST 1176. They were there for the "1967 Canadian Centennial Naval Assembly Atlantic." I believe it commemorated the 100th anniversary of the founding of Canada with the 1867 British North America Act. Great views of Newport News Ed. My only visuals of her in person were in Philadelphia while she rusted in mothballs.
'Have your books ~~ Thoughts On Being a Chief Petty Officer~~ and also ~~ Around the World~~ and do recommend both as very good reads and also good advice on how to lead.

I was in HSL-30 and probably worked on that H-2 at one time or another, but much later.

Great information. This must be here stop in Halifax Nova Scotia since all those US vessels are with her at the end of this film.

Oh! And if you come upon any film of AO-60 USS Nantahala and/or DD-753 John R Pierce would be wonderful to remember. I was a snipe.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed them and I hope Around the World brought back some good memories of your time in the service.
