As a regular traveller (pre pandemic at least) to Thailand and Vietnam, these videos really help me to shortlist or eliminate hotels from my options. Great stuff as usual Flip Flop!
Thanks so much! Still have around 7 more Thailand hotels coming this month before content shifts to South America & Europe for a while. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
One of my favorite fashion designers is Christian Lacroix, a French couturier. I have the utmost respect for his technique and his vision as a designer, even though his design is not my cup of tea. Nobody can mix colors like he does and make sense out of them. This hotel decore is actually very tame based on his taste and design philosophy. He truly believes more is more! You should see one of his couture dress on a runway. You will totally understand.😂 Loved the review and Monsieur Lacroix’s vision!
Hi Kevin, great review as always but you really did evolve over time...the entertainment factor of you 2024 vlogs are so much better...watching them regularly even if the airlines/destination aren't of interest to me...great work!
I'd say the hotel was tastefully stylish. I've stayed in properties where the hipness was so overdone it was uncomfortable. Here, I agree, they achieved the basic needs for food, work, and rest with a unique ambience. You'll get an unmistakable hotel room photo to keep as a souvenir. (Were the marketing staff who wrote those brand concepts sitting in a conference room or a hookah lounge?)
Oh that’s a very difficult question haha. I’d say based on your nightly budget: ~ $100: Grand Hyatt Erawan ~ $200: Kimpton Maa Lai ~ $300: Sindhorn Kempinski ~ $400: Four Seasons
I arrived after dark for a one night stay. The next morning / afternoon the staff would not allow me to access the floor, insisting it was only possibly after (I believe) 17:00. Normally I do everything possible to not film with many or any a guests around- so filming at night wasn’t an option. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
A bit of a broad question lol. Over 150 five star properties from $100-$900... Happy to give a few recommendations depending on your budget and other requirements on Patreon with Explorer+ members if you need some guidance. Thanks for watching 🩴
One megabyte is actually 8 megabits. So if your speed test shows 50 Mbps it would be 6.2 Megabytes. So if you state 50 Megabytes then the speed test should show 400 Mbps. My pleasure. Enjoy your stay in Thailand.
The Hansar was my goto for years and is still tops for something in the $100 range. If I was looking for something a bit more elevated, I'd probably go for the Kimpton.
I enjoyed the video and l liked it but lm going to be honest, it's not to my taste and l fear it would date fairly quickly, perhaps it's more for a younger hip crowd 🤷♀️. The amount of nooks and crannies with "stuff" reminds me of a rabbit warren, just because it's not my taste it's certainly not awful at all. Oh the gloves, bain of my existence! Have you ever really observed a McDonald's worker (or any food court worker) they wear gloves the same gloves for an entire shift, they prepare the food, scoop the ice into a cup, take your order pressing buttons on the screen, take the cash out of my hand, give me change, scratch their face, fix their hair and hat, clear the rubbish off the table, wipe it down with a filthy clothe, touch the flap on the trash bin and at this point they may as well use the same gloves to wipe after going to the toilet because those gloves after a 5hr shift are dirtier than a public toilet seat!! I'm a Nurse and it would be akin to me wearing the same gloves all shift as l go from patient to patient! I hate them! Rant over but l agree with you👍
If you watch the video, you’ll see I’m not complaining about wearing gloves, I have nothing against that- but rather that they’re not used in a sanitary fashion, defeating the entire purpose. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Man! The view from the pool is incredible. Simply Breathtaking!
It certainly is! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Another super video Kevin. I love that you differ the ambient music to suit each property. And your graphics are excellent. Thank you.
Thanks very much 🙏🏻

Planning to visit Bangkok this year 2022. Thank you for all your awesome reviews Mr. Kevin 😘❤️
Wow, a beautiful hotel, loved your room, I would want that blue room, thanks for sharing, would definitely stay there
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

Appreciate that!
You had me at dessert lounge 🤤
Thanks for watching 🩴
I think you mistakenly said entrance on rama 9 road side? maybe meant rama 4?
Could be!
That’s a view!! Doors do look like prison doors, you’re right as usual! 😄
Thanks for watching 🩴
Is this Accor's take on Andaz of Hyatt group?
Kinda sorta. SO/ is more about design than it is about ‘lifestyle’ amenities. Nothing quite like it really. Thanks for watching 🩴
Im usually a Hyatt person, the Grand or Park, but this hotel is very interesting.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

I completely agree. Stylish/design-forward hotels that nail functionality are truly the sweet spot for urban hotels. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Great video! I'm flying into Bangkok for 3 nights in April, which hotel you would recommend?
Oh that’s a very difficult question haha. I’d say based on your nightly budget:

I recommend this one. Prime location. Amazing views.
Hi nice vedio… do u know of any hotel in bangkok that have a balcony in the room 😇
There are many. Sindhorn Kempinski, Hansar, Shangri La, etc. My Sindhorn Kempinski video will come out 21/12. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft thanks alot for the fast reply… very inspired after watching ur Vids😇 i make honest reviews too but not PRO like u are 🤭
Morning from Sg. Could you help me? What's the difference between Sofitel and SO? I know they are family. Is it the concept ?
Sure, it is a design driven concept by Accor. I explain it in detail in the video 😊 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Am surprised that you didn’t showcase the rooftop bar but a good video nonetheless

Based on the map you showed, this looks like it is close to the old Dusit Thani. If that ever reopens you should give it a once over.
Let’s see if they ever do get around to finishing the new structure. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft No kidding. I lived in Bangkok (Suhkumvit soi 63). Projects start and stop dead in their tracks around there.
You should try living in Saigon 😂 Hopefully the first metro line will be completed before the turn of the next century haha
@@tfft Had considered it but I have family in Chiang Mai
Has those gloves measures been released in the mean while? They still may originate from the covid measures.
You'd need to check with the hotel. This video is from Covid times...
Great place to stay. Maybe, minimize negative opinions. Other than that, good video.
Which negative opinions? I gave the hotel a nice score lol.
what is the best 5* hotel in bangkok for you ? I search the best for our honeymoon. 😢😢

It is pronounced "Megabits", not "Megabytes" download.
Tomato tomato to me- but thanks for the lesson buddy and thanks for watching 🙏🏻

Noooo ...
I get it .. but it's a NO from me, 😨
Thanks for sharing ✈️
a no for me for this hotel . I don't like the colour of the room . I would rather prefer Four season or The sukhothai
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
The worst thing is Gloves at Breakfast? Really? Its pandemic times. For the sake of everyone just put on the gloves. It’s not that difficult
