      I’m also a Christian and from my limited awareness of Rasta find many parallels between their way of life and ours.
      In fact they would appear to have a more peaceful and loving existence towards fellow man than many (so called) Christians even.
      Reflecting in my view, Jesus teachings vs Pharisees.

    I'm a lukewarm Catholic Christian re-vert, and a White guy from Detroit, and I love Rastafari! I support any bredrin & sistren of mine having 100% autonomy and liberty to follow anything they chose, but I've studied Rastafari for many years and I believe it's a very honest, loving, fair & just spiritual path and manner of worshipping God. Jah Rastafari to all my extended family around the globe!!

There are thing that Christians, Muslims & Jews do that make me wonder but i respect their believes. our beliefs were from a different time just like Jesus & Mohammed's beliefs are from a different time. Does any Rastafarian have an opinion about the geographical splitting of the earth in Ethiopia? I saw in a documentary that two continental plates in Ethiopia are moving apart where the land is deep below sea level. When I seen it I wondered if it was God creating a new Eden. Now as I am learning about where Rastafarian's belief originated that scene again came to my mind. I also want to thank the person responsible for bringing this info to you tube. I always think of the words "seek and ye shall find." I appreciate the enlightenment. I would like to know more about Rastafarian women. Religion oppresses women; does Rasta set them free?

  • @martinandrewsmusic

    This is a question for any rastas reading this...Love and peace to you all........... I want to be a rastafarian but i dont feel worthy to be a rastafarian because I am a white christian..........I believe that haile selassie is the returned messiah! . After much research into you beautiful culture i have come to the conclusion that Rastafarianism is a religion not of race but of unity, quality, peace and love. I honestly believe color does not matter, people should look past color and within the person. when bob marley was asked by a white man if he needed to be black to be a rasta bob said " do you have a choice, come as god sent you" I have been a true follower of the almighty and have given my life to him for years and now i see he has come back as the imperial majesty. can I be a Rastafarian ?? i dont mean to offend i want honest answers only please. peace

    • @Robel0
      @Robel0 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +martin andrews You don't need anyones approval to be rasta. Rasta is in the heart, dread or no dread. Rasta is not a religion, it is a natural and righteous way of life, a livity Rasta fight against isms and schims and the illuminati babylon system which is the vampire.
      H.I.M say that "Religion is a set of rules, regulations and rituals created by humans which were supposed to help people grow spiritually. Due to human imperfection religion has become corrupt, political, divisive and a tool for power struggle. Spirituality is not theology or ideology. It is simply a way of life, pure and original as was given by the Most High."
      Rastafari is based on the principles that all mankind are equal. We are all rasta even if we do not realize it. The revelation of Jesus Christ through Haile Selassie I gives great hope to mankind. If we come together in love and unity we will conquer evil and the babylon system will fall. Zion will rule with love not power. One love.

    I am a 53-year-old white rasta whose title and King adopted name is rasthomas. For any and all who think Rastafari must be black or Jamaican, I would reason and put forth that Rasta is a calling of the heart to a higher consciousness, and not merely an ethnic, national, or political movement. Rastafari are born, not converted. All rasta are unique and special but alike in that they felt a calling to the Livity. I and I by its very nature is not discriminatory or exclusive. True Rastafari know and feel it as much or more than think it. Bless.

    • @lunulamoon

      One of the things about Rastafarianism is about black empowerment. Ya'll can't let us have ONE thing. So yes Rastafari can only be black. Cry about it

    • @thomashumphrey7395
      @thomashumphrey7395 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lunulamoon You don't have a clue, bro. Almost all notable rastas (including Bob Marley) have said that anybody can be a rasta based on belief and living the Livity. Black, White, Chinese, Mexican, male, female, whatever, if you are truly Rasta, you feel it more think it. Quit thinking that you have to own it and it's not for anyone but Blacks. There are so few Rastafari to begin with (by estimates about one million worldwide) and since we are all brethren and humans, we should be glad in this crazy world today to have as many as we can. Read your history, man.

    First Step Plus Inc. is looking for Rastafarians.. Rasta grant writers, farmers,book keepers,mentors,musicians, teachers,poets, elders...and any Rasta with skills that they can share to enrich and repair ... I have come to the realization that to build this 501 c3 nonprofit to it's fullest potential then we must have a team of people who are like minded with one goal and one purpose and that is to eradicate hunger, eradicate homeless,bring about change and hope in a world that offers neither.
    On this mission it is essential that we teach the things necessary for the survival of Rastafari, Livity and love..we must not be consumed by the media and the politics that label our youth as corrupt misfits when we know that our destruction is systematic.. I had been looking for Babylon to assist in relief from a Babylonian system, and i have met with much opposition to the point of frustration yet i remain ever focused and ever up to the task before me. If you are willing to embark on a blessed mission that will lead us to Ethiopia's door then First Step Plus Inc. needs you..

    why do rastas still believe Haile Selassie is God in the flesh when Selassie himself said that he isn't and that he doesn't know why people are saying that about him. they heard it from the horse's mouth and they still follow that belief. I don't get it... Selassie said their allegations are false lol.. they're just gonna make him God lol...

    • @backpackdirector
      @backpackdirector  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Face Reality from what I gathered, it's based on Bible interpretation. add to that, Marcus Garvey predicting people should look to the east for a king. when Selassie said he wasn't the return of Christ, it was taken as him being humble, and made them believe even more.

    • @Face_Reality
      @Face_Reality 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      backpack director it was "taken"... So they're only perceptions, and misperceptions at that. It's not good to assume... If he's telling you he's not something then he's not.. Jesus or God wouldn't lie. It is not of God to lie and deceive. It just sounds like they misinterpreted a lot of things. It really just sounds like one big misunderstanding which needs to be cleared up... Why don't they want to seek the truth? Their minds have just settled on this perception and their minds are made up and they are just gonna take that and run with it without exploring all possibilities...

      H.I.M is all over the Bible starting with Isaiah 9:6 Psalms 87 Revelation 5:5. He isn’t Christ, the lamb, he’s the Lion of Judah, a man. Of course he said what he said you no innerstand?

      Look to the beam in your own eye, brother, and let the Rastafari brethren be. The so-called "Hebrew Israelite" movement is a modern man-made thing. The real legacy of black Judaism can be found in Ethiopia. His Majesty himself is descended from King David. I've reasoned with the "Hebrew Israelite" brothers on the streets of New York and found their misinterpretations of the Scriptures to be wanting. Amusing at times, yet profoundly sad, because it is obvious they are longing for an identity. They didn't know about Ethiopia, so they had to invent one for themselves. The idea that Argentinians and Chileans are the Tribe of Napthali, that Mexicans are a next tribe, etc., is just silly and untenable. It's like the fantasies of the Mormons. His Majesty taught us to look to the true legacy of Israel which is to be found today most fully in the ancient nation of Ethiopia. His Majesty taught us to look to our ancient roots, not to something some brothers in New York in search of an identity made up for themselves. Look to Ethiopia. There you'll find the real black Hebrews.

      The twelve tribe chart is nonsense but with all due respect there is no scriptural basis for Hallie Sallasie out King Solomon having a child with The Queen of Sheba.Rastafarism and any religion for that matter are man made. Trust in God only and keep commandments.

      The Scriptures are not the be all end all of everything. The Church (community of the faithful) produced the Scriptures, not the other way around. Only a Protestant is "sola scriptura". The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church recognizes that Scripture is one of the pillars of the faith, but not the only one. We don't need for Scripture to state explicitly that Solomon and Makeda produced Menelik, for our own local tradition, just as ancient, confirms that it is true. Can all of the ancient traditions of Africa that antedate Scripture or the oral traditions the griots kept that are not contained therein be invalidated just because they weren't written down? As to all religions being manmade, we hold to the faith that was delivered "once and for all time for all the saints" without change.

      based upon what his personal servants and chefs said one of his favorite dishes was a ground meat dish with spices eaten with unleavened bread...and I was 5 yrs old when he died so of course I or no one else saw him eat except those under him but I will be glad to show you a link of the menu that was served when he came to visit president Kennedy in the white house and his choice was not vegetarian but of course you may not believe it. but as I said meat was not prohibited by God except shellfish..predatory fish and pork ...selassie wasn't a veggie.

      if you are Ethiopian like your name suggests then I'm sure you are familiar with dish known as kitfo...you don't have to believe it but then you would be suggesting those who served him were lying.

    You should not ask bald head about rasta. Ask rasta about rasta. There is no division in rasta. The different groups is just different approach to the one good. Which is God. JAH Rastafari! Bald head is confused and dont know about rasta. They are even confused about their own thing much less for them to understand rasta.
