This is the best video I have seen on the Raven Queen and I hope WOTC will do an entire campaign book set in the Shadowfell with the Raven Queen, Orcus, and Vecna as the main protagonists.
I’m sure the art is just reflective of the imagery you describe and not necessarily that of the Raven Queen, but just as a note, the image of the Snowy Owlbear is actually Auril, (directorial that image is of her first form from the Rime of the Frostmaiden adventure). In case anyone was curious. Otherwise, this video is excellent deep dive into the Raven Queen’s lore.
I had a Fallen Aasimar Cleric who was a follower of the Raven Queen, (DM told us to make a level 5 character but didnt say what game we were going to be playing next, so after I made her, I found out we were playing Curse of Strahd, oh soo perfect setting! my cleric even dressed as a plague doctor complete with the mask
Thanks for a follow-up / update on your earlier Raven Queen video. I like the long discussion format, but this is very well put together and more digestible. The Death Knight dummy in me feel in love with the Raven Queen back in 4th edition and though I loathe the attention she's gotten because of a certain D&D stream, I love that people are now aware she exists and know how bloody cool she is. We've gotten a decent amount of Fey content for 5th, so I hope we'll get some Shadowfell goodness now too. Letherna awaits!
Really good video, am a DM for a campaign, where one of our party is a kenku, who is also a hallowed one, and he randomly chose the raven queen (chose pale mask with raven feathers symbol) , still havent told him what god it is, fit really well into his backstory, ty for making this
i typically listen to the podcast in an audio form while im out doing what ever (honestly im usually sitting at the park after a long walke to pick up some tall boys). This is amazing, ive been wanting a more visual representation of these Beings/creatures! im so glad you've started doing this and i cant wait to check out the ones i've missed. keep up the good work as always you two are awesome and i love what you do! Will i hope all is well with the little one and wish you both and everyone around you the best! keep being awesome!
I honestly think she is the same god as Shar… fan theory though not a lot to back it up other than the similarities in the death domain and the Shadowfell relation.
I don't get it. There is already Kelemvor, God of the dead since 2e (?). Also there is Auril, the frostmaiden. Also since like ... forever. Also... Myrkul seems to be back.... God of death, as so is Raven Queen. Why are there multiple rulers of domains? Aren't they fighting over one's portfolio? Just imagine multiple police forces in your city, which do the same job but are independent on their own. It would be chaos in a short matter of time.
Well, I want to say that the PHB and DMG are officially setting neutral, so they offer different settings' pantheons for both to use when gaming in those settings and as examples of gods of those portfolios for homebrewers... but the truth is that 5e Forgotten Realms lore in particular is just a chaotic jumble that is incredibly desperate to retcon out everything that happened during the 4e era.
basically gods have influence in their crystal sphere. an example Kelemvor is only a part of the FR's crystal sphere and has no influence out side of it. some gods have influence in multiple spheres. Like pelor, Lolth, and correlon.
This is lore from before 5th edition, where she was indeed originally human. See our part two video for her 5e reconned lore where she was said to originally be elven.

There's a fun homebrew enemy of hers that I've seen a dm create
U realize orcha and vecna are evil right
This is simply the best lore video that I’ve ever seen about my favorite deity/power! Can’t wait for part 2.
This format was waaaaaaaaaaay better than the podcast style you guys do.
Can't wait for part 2. I've wanted to play a Cleric of The Raven Queen for so long and all this information will help.
I played a Shadar-Kai grave cleric of the Raven Queen. Recommended!

I have a Cleric, Grave Domain, she is a fallen Aasimar and a follower of the Ravin Queen
Obligatory like for well narrated video.

Why do you loathe the attention she's gotten tho?

Excellent video!
Wow thanx, this will help me with how to play my warlock
Brilliant video…I love the music too 🖤

Twisted sistas
My Vengeance Paladin of Torm just accepted a pact with the Raven a few sessions back.
Freaking awesome dude. Thank you!
This is where Bird Person went when he died.
For the algorithm!!!
....but also, great video. Looking forward to the second half
Interesting.
Where did you get the picture of her mortal form? I love it and would match my Sorceress who is favored by the Raven Queen.
that's actually a magic the gathering card, Queen Marchesa
Fight me
This is cool.
Just came across this. Making the Raven Queen an important part of my campaign. Excellent video all the way around!
Awesome narration
The Raven Queen was once Marchessa?
God the raven queen is so pame
whats the background song/music
Homie you think you can walk around here without a like?
Song ID please?
I'll be honest, most of my clerics are death domain clerics in her service.
The amount of rewrites and retconns that this deity has is wild. Can't take her serious tbh.
uh, random, but can someone tell me where to find the art for the thumbnail?
Deathpact Angel, from Magic the Gathering
This sounds a lot like Vox lores too are they the same
Yas Queen
I don't get it.

Nerull was not the god of death or the dead. Nerull was the god of murder.
soooooo melodramatic lol
God malar
“A human” I’m sorry no she was elven
This is lore from before 5th edition, where she was indeed originally human. See our part two video for her 5e reconned lore where she was said to originally be elven.
Elven reborn and restrengthened
Music on this video?
