- How to pack a hiking pack for overnight bushwalking. How much gear should you bring & what equipment is essential. This may be modified if the walk is going to be in a hot area with no rain etc.

Top Lid Flap: 1.3kg Side pockets: bottle water 600mL x 2
• Aldi tech gloves & rubber rain gloves & mini gorilla tripod
• headtorch, penknife, phone ear buds, battery juice pack, empty cooking containers
• CD, yellow sheet, film container gloves, compass, pen, zip ties
• binoculars, sunglasses, silver cooking thermal bag, medical/emergency sheet
Main Pack: 2.5kg empty pack 7.5kg contents below without food
• yellow pack liner inside pack, overboard key yellow bag, phone waterproof case
• crocs sandals on outside of pack straps
• foil cooking windscreen and seat pad in back pocket
• tent, fly, pegs & groundsheet, UberLite air mattress, pillow
• 4L soft water canteen, solar tent collapsible light

• Mountain Designs yellow sack white-box stove burner, windshield, metho bottles, measuring cup, sock pot-holder 1 x 100 mL bottle per day with 1 extra spare
• Purple sack tissues, aeroguard, sunscreen (or hang on pack), emergency items bag, spare headtorch, stick torch, playing cards, first aid kit, snake bandages, clothes line, PLB
• Rain jacket (rain pants & yellow pack cover optional)
• Yellow Exped sack food, bowl, spork, long spoon, chux, scourer, collapsible cup
• Plastic bag underwear & socks, Aldi navy down jacket, PJ merino thermals, sleeping socks, Aldi yellow Tshirt & shorts
Bottom Compartment: 1.8kg
• Aldi sleeping bag with silk liner in it & silver emergency blanket
• small blue camp drying towel & toiletries (Tbrush, Tpaste, dent floss, mirror, comb, deodourant, earplugs, lip balm)
• shovel & toilet paper with hand sanitiser
• hat, buff x 2
• 5 plastic bags & one garbage bag with drawstring
• day pack (tiny blue Sea to Summit)
Wearing:
• Underwear & socks, walking pants, Aldi merino base layer, gaiters, Garmin watch
• Around neck 600 mL drink bottle in Didgeridoonas holder
• Fuji camera in pockets or pack
• Walking poles
Total pack weight (without food or water) 13 kg
