Wrighty is british royalty, protect this man at all costs not even an arsenal fan but if we had more people with his attitude towards people we'd been living in a better place absolute legend of a human being
Why do footy fans always have to put 'I'm not even a so and so fan' about a current player/ex player to appreciate literally anything about said player? Lol. Caveman thinking.
@@Alostwanderer88 took you 3 weeks to think of that comment with your caveman brain, well done pigeon breath
2:43 “Ruud Gullit Inter Milan kit” Hold up there Wright, that ain’t right
I was a white, working class boy who hated school. Ian Wright become a hero for me from the age of around 13 and I sang his name in the northbank at Highbury for many years. I will bump into Ian one day and tell him how much I love him. Hopefully he will give me a hug. Legend.
Not sure why you had to specify your colour but okay
Who cares if you're white 😅
Because trust me.. it mattered then! Especially in the uk! As much as people dont want to admit it.. racism was rife in uk at the time and there was still some form of seperation between cultures, its not like what itis now... not even close
@@JS9973 Maybe I am wrong but for me and the environment I was brought up in having a black role model was not as accepted as it is now. He helped me break boundaries within my friends and family.which I probably didn't understand being a young kid. Having his posters on my wall was a big deal!
@@steroe7965 I'm not asking you to care. Just understand that back in the day it was a very different culture.
Not an Arsenal fan but I love him. He’s so class and seems like such a wonderful, genuine guy.
Good that Wrighty mentions Kevin Campbell at 7:10 . Great player. Sadly passed away this week.
And he said Ruud Gullit played for inter Milan 🤣
@@THEOBOTS well spotted, I just accepted it was true, not AC.
Considering the utter hatred I have of Arsenal i absolutely love Ian Wright.
It’s a shame that British GQ writes in American English for Wrighty’s comments and not British English, as one would expect.
what a weird thing to genuinely care about, please get over yourself :)
@@doogi30Not sure it’s that weird of a thing to comment on
@@doogi30 I don’t think that it is weird, thanks :)
@@doogi30 If it's a weird thing to care about, Why reply to it? Dumb Dumb.
They were written in British English.
Wrighty was immense , I’d have him over most strikers today (united fan)
RIP Kevin Campbell
I'm a simple man, I see a video with Wrighty, I click on it! ❤
Life isn't so complicated at times 🎉
This man is the reason I became an Arsenal Fan.
Uncle Ian. Game changer for black Brits, we love you man ❤
Nope it's aunty wrighty now his dress made him a mess he now thinks he is trendy but is a sixty year old cross dresser Ru Paul's twin😂

Love Ian Wright. Always remembers his roots and he never let fame go to his head. His reaction to Mr Pigden is always humbling to watch. The fact he acts like an uncle for Saka is great too.
Not when they got him wearing a dress
Lol, he cringes at his song at no. 41 but he liked his his chicken tonight commercial.
😂😂😂
He's such a good dude! Lads watch the doc on his life. This man is something we should all aim to be.
The way his real comment was on the TH-cam video with him and wenger below the question about his coaching badges 🤣
This series is called Actually Me for a reason 😉
His jumper is like something my nan would wear to the bingo 😂 well In Ian you're a legend mate
Bet it will cost more than everything in your wardrobe pal 😂😂😂😂
@thesaintst1851 what's that got to do with anything? still looks like a grandma's jumper lol no matter how much it cost 😂 I don't get your point. But nice one 👍🏻
He was so good he can wear freddie krugers grannys jumper and no one bats an eylid.
Love this Uncs. That gasp just before a goal, the silence, everyone taking a breath at the same time before you score is crazy. Most I've had was 2k, can only imagine whats 50k sounds and feels like.
6:50 "Let's get a bag" 😂
Ian wright my hero since I was a sprout! Legend ❤
Ian Wright even tho he’s english reminds me so much of my dad, all the good parts. genuinely top class human being
7:35 watching this after Kev passed hits abit harder. What a player.
Spurs fans of 25 years here. Love Wrighty. Great player, great guy. Massively important for black footballers everywhere, especially in the UK.
To the youngsters out there who never got a chance to watch Wrighty in his prime. He was an absolute lethal finisher. Wrighty was a proper natural goalscorer, probably the best finisher I have seen at the club in my near 35 years of supporting Arsenal and yes that includes TH14 and Anelka. His only thought was "how can I score?"
He was quick, not that TH14 sprinters pace but quick more in short distances like Aguero or Suarez, if one on one with the last defender he would accelerate past them or turn them inside out to get enough room to shoot. He could finish inside and outside the box with either foot in difficult situations, was excellent at headering for a smaller guy, but it was his natural instinct, his one mindedness and how clinical he was that stood out.
If you remember Jermain Defoe in his prime - well Defore always reminded me a bit of Wrighty, bit like an Aldi version of Wrighty - no disrespect to Defoe but Wrighty was just that level above.
If Wrighty played today in the PL today he would have some serious fun. The role of CB's has changed from when Wrighty played, now they have to be excellent on the ball, but where this change of focus is on defenders being good footballers I think for the most part we have lost a little in the art of defending - that sharpness, understanding of danger and timing of tackle, nowadays also defenders can't be as physical, something Wrighty was great at dealing with, giving it back as much as he took it. Modern CB's are too nice and Wrighty wouldnt be.
He is now a dress wearing AUNTIE
The Kevin Campbell shoutout 💔 Ian is a real one
He is class, always loved him, especially when he doesn’t swear!, but Barnes was my favorite player ❤️🙏🏻
Yep and Barnes never wore a silly dress either😂
Number 41 meant something back then! Not much, but it meant something!
Wrighty was good in The Kitchen, he fit the role of a DJ well. Worth a watch if anyone hasn't seen it.
It is worth a watch for who's in it, he had a good small part but overall I thought the film was a bit of a letdown
Hated him years ago but as we've all got older he's genuinely one of my favourite people on the telly, stick to football is the best thing on telly period.
“ hated”?….. you need to get out more mate
@@thesaintst1851 for having an opinion?
It’s the fact you “hated” him that’s sad. Get a life. Imagine hating a man who doesn’t know who you are
@brenb70 loved him...there, happy now ...knobhead
@@brenb70Are you new to football or something? Opposing fans are always hating brilliant players of their rivals.
Total legend. Love you Wrighty
Wrighty would definitely be one of the best handful of strikers today, although it's not the strongest time for strikers 23/24. He was the best in England then, and for Arsenal, till Henry.
Love to hear a shout for Steve Coppel. He was my mums favourite person in football before she passed
I hated you as a player ( Utd fan here ) but that’s only because I begrudgingly knew how flipping good were and would’ve had you in our team in a heartbeat, it would’ve been interesting seeing you form a partnership either Eric, Sparky, Coley or Chocy McLair. Luv ya now though.
The comment under the guiness one 🤣
Hahaha glossed over that pretty quick innit 😂
Uncle Ian ❤
Nicest man in football
Extremely down to earth. Extremely real this lad
It’s British GQ but uses American English in the replies
What a legend
Wrighty is a National Treasure..
At one point it was virtually guaranteed that if Arsenal were struggling Wright would pop up with a goal to save them. As a Chelsea fan it bored me to tears. As the man says at the end "he was right up there".
Ian Wright is very stylish. I wish I could dress like him.
Rest in peace, Kevin Campbell ❤
I grew up in United’s heyday and I “hated” Ian Wright because I wish he could’ve played for Sir Alex. He is quite literally my favorite personality next to Keano and Charles Barkley 😊❤
Looking so good, love the jumper ❤❤
Top top bloke
Proper legend!
Love Wrighty
His football knowledge is better than his grammar (4:07) but what a legend of the game and a genuine icon
Really….
The you watched this video and only think you could comment was about his “grammar” .
@@paulgal he's just given a timestamp for a part of the video where Ian makes a jibe about someone's grammar even though there's nothing wrong with it
Wrighty's a treasure
Ian went through a time if you were black or Irish the English wouldn’t let you into their shops or pubs. What a legend he is!😎💯
Wrighty=Class
Superb Wrighty! Love this guy. There should be a speaking tour - is there already?
Ian still has the swag.
Ian mixing up inter and ac Milan 😂😅

REISS NELSON AGAINST BOURNEMOUTH
I was unfortunate enough to not remember his playing days, as I'd have been too young. But he's by far and away my favourite footballing pundit.
Hes the peoples pundit.
When he is talking about the different kits how are you not showing some photos of it? do better GQ
Arsenal legend, and my childhood hero!
Wtf is that jumper Ian😂
He should get on that glasses idea tbh
Class act. Top striker.1 of most enjoyable to watch. This is from lfc fan
Love Ian Wright. ❤

Ruud Gullit never played for Inter Milan Ian? Think you meant AC Milan 🤦🏻♂️🤣🤣
Gullit's Inter Milan kit? What?
Is Big Balls Greg satisfied with your answer, Ian? Jokes aside, Ian Wright has an awesome vibe and is always a joy to listen to, especially on The Overlap. I was a big fan of his too in his playing days.
Ruud Gullit never played for Inter Milan. 🤷♂️

Steve Coppell right now👁👄👁
Ian Wright looks like he can still play....why hasn't he AGED THE SWINE.....
Anyone else shocked that Elon Twitter didn’t flood Ian with just a horrendous wave of racist garbage? Well done screeners at GQ.
Why you wearing a skirt in one of your adds ???
