So, theories abound on where did the timelines split and where did the change start happening? More importantly, when did Lu Guang travel back to?

I looked back at season 1, and here is my theory...
After two seasons, we have great faith in Link Click's storytelling abilities. Link Click is very good at leaving breadcrumbs. This show seems to do everything with intention. Therefore, let us look back at season 1 for potential breadcrumbs.
{00:21-00:53 of this video. The date was April 16, 2021, at 00:27 of this video.}
Episode 1 - Introduced the basic mechanics of diving into photos. Of course, we were also introduced to Emma, who died. The date was April 16, 2021.
{00:53-1:12. No date was shown.}
Episode 2 - Dive at the noodle shop owner's request.... (we will get back to this)
{1:12-1:45. The date was October 6, 2021 at 1:43.}
Episode 3 - Showed CXS still didn't need glasses when he inhabited a basketball player who typically needed glasses. An inhabitor does not inherit the inhabited's shortcomings.
Episode 4 - We learned there are key nodes in time.
Episode 5 - This episode mainly served to wrap up the earthquake arc, but it also introduced the police as an element of the show...

Episode 5.5 - Introduced CXS to fighting, which practically made all the fight scenes in season 2 possible...
{1:46-1:55. The date was October 13, 2021, at 1:52 of this video.}
Episode 6 - Showed CXS and LG could travel into security cameras, not just photos...
Episode 7- CXS ran into QL when he dived back, and this was a breadcrumb for how timelines overlap: Dives in the future can intersect with the past.
{1:55-2:21. The date was October 21, 2021 at 2:11.}
Episode 8 - Set up the red-eye arc. There was again a breadcrumb for how timelines overlap.
Episode 9 - Showed CXS can dive solo without LG. Again, the breadcrumb for timelines overlaps.
Episode 10 - Again, more breadcrumb for timelines overlaps. Return to an earlier breadcrumb when CXS ran into QL when he dived back for the child-kidnapping case: What happens in dives can affect the present-day future.
Episode 10 - Resolved the previous breadcrumbs for how CXS trapped red-eye. Showed how even when CXS thought he didn't change anything during his dive, he might have (when he screamed in the trunk). Redefined Emma's death, and left us with a cliffhanger before ending the season.
Now, based on the above summary, doesn't episode 2 jump out? It didn't seem to have any obvious link to the overall storyline. It was the only episode without any explicit mention of a date. There was also a major time gap between episode 1 and the rest of the season. Do we trust Link Click to not redefine such a big time gap?
Did I mention LG traveled back from September 13 of some year unkown (00:17 of this video)? So, at least in one timeline, everything that happened before September 13 would be lived experience; whereas everything from September 13 onward would be new and unknown...
Therefore, I have my suspicions about season 1 episode 2. LG wasn't phased by Emma's death in episode 1 (at the time, we thought he was eerily calm). Yet, he was shocked by CXS's shout over the noodles in the picture. Since then, LG has appeared shocked many times. IF events happened as LG had experienced, why would he be surprised? Did the timeline split? (Perhaps even by the end of episode 1. What happened during this long time gap that wasn't shown? What did LG do during this time?) So, that's my theory. Watch me regret posting this once season 3 comes out...
Though, hopefully, even if I was wrong, this video is still enjoyable with scenes of time travel and the potential implications.

Wait wait, this opened up a theory for me.
You say Lu Guang wasn't shocked at Emma's death.
This makes me think in the original timeline maybe he DID TELL Cheng Xiaoshi about him messing up the timeline. This could lead to Cheng Xiaoshi maybe trying to fix his mistake and get mixed up in a bunch of things, hence how he died. (Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang trying to fix Emma's death is maybe what happened in the time skip where nothing happened in our timeline? If i remember Cheng Xiaoshi died in September which is just before the main story picks back up after the time skip)
Lu Guang seems mostly shocked at everything after Emma's death so it must be there the timeline split.

Yup. After watching s2 it's definitely possible that cxs died, during a timeline, and his abilities were passed on to lg. But because of which he travelled back to the past and changed the ending. So the timeline we're seeing now is an alternate future in which cxs lived, hence why tianxi and the hat guy came in the scene earlier and how they came to know there's someone who can change the past.

How was lu Guang able to teleport back to past?? Doesn't he have the power of an observer?
Here's my theory
Remember when tianxi told tianchen to run and held Qiao ling and Qiao Ling inherited her memories... There was such a memory where lu guang was also holding cheng Xiaoshi when he died that's why I think he was able to use cheng Xiaoshi's power.
Back when cheng Xiaoshi was fighting Qiao ling in ep 1 of S2 tianchen said that he wanted his power and I think it needs some kind of contact while dying just like they share their power while holding hands and clapping..
If this is true then we might see Qiao ling using tianxi's power... 😍

Powers get passed on when someone dies, presumably to the closest person or if someone is touching the person as they die. That was shown in season 2.
