If I am not mistaken NEC and NFPA standards dictate common earthing not AC and DC earth separate. In case of Lightning discharge due to different potential gradient on ground, different earthing may result equipment damage or fire. What reason NEPRA give to have them separated. Please Explain.
Yes NEC recommend common earthing since 1996. NEPRA has no guide lines. Earthing standard selection is a complex thing that may include distribution systems design, wiring conventions in country and energy instruments already deployed in country. I personally recommend in Pakistan to use NEC for execution, IEC 2007 for design.
