I hope they eventually add the ability to play musical instruments and gain skill in them. My Zomboid bucket list is to play with a group and we all gain skill in a different instrument and start a garage band in the apocalypse.
You and me both, I had a mod on for it last run and I miss it already. Garage apocalypse band would be a dream! I’ve seen so many more drum kits that it must just be a matter of time, get me an apocalypse drummer!

The option to throw them out the window totally needs to be "yeet zombie". BTW, being over carry weight adds muscle strain. You can't keep playing like you did with Arthur in b41.

You absolutely can lob zombies out the windows, basically drag one to an open window and press E, sometimes you will drop the corpse and reposition in a more yeetable angle then flop it through the awaiting portal so give it a sec to do it's thing. Would recommend practicing on ground floor windows to avoid evicting yourself by accident too though 😅. If anyone is getting put off by the new muscle fatigue system and isn't aware, fear not, there is an option to lower or turn it off completely in the Sandbox settings! Let’s go 🎉 loving this so far. The one thing I’m not sure of or I think might need a bit of tweaking is the fatigue system. I’m glad that we can change this in the settings of the game before creating.
The fatigue system absolutely needs work, it’s a great idea but man does it need work! I didn’t know you could tweak it though I’ll have to have a look but otherwise I’m loving ever second of it!
They love keeping it open to everyone, even the ability to remove all zeds! As much as they love a hardcore experience, they also love keeping it accessible to everyone, softies really :D
@@Vulrhund Great thing about it, you can play it how you want. Just as I reckon those that just burn zombies are wussies, well, that doesn't matter as that is how they want to play, they get in too deep with no strategy and then resort to the burn because they stuffed up. Totally just ribbing you my man, I wonder how the new lighting effects have changed with the burns? I'm counting on you to show us that.
I’ve pumped so many hours into the game already I’ve got content coming out my ears, can’t leave you guys hanging! Haha turned into a pileup down there real quick didn’t it!
Made me laugh, that you put them in the bathroom but there was a small empty cupboard right before the bathroom. I play without zombies and am loving all the stuff that has been added to the game.
I spotted the cupboard halfway through and was just like you know what, just gonna commit to it there's no going back now :D Without zombies is a great way to learn it all, should do the same!
Wait, is the game still challenging without zombies. I've always thought the amount of zombies in the map is far too big. Like there aren't even that many people there. But then I thought it'd just be like creative mode.
@ I died a few times last night, so good luck to you! The Zeds spot you from so much farther now, if they are facing you. Sounds of combat bring them from farther away too.
The new system is no joke, definitely a bit much. Think if little old me can spend all day swinging a hammer breaking up concrete, he can swing a hammer into a few heads every now and then, needs toning back a ton!
This is THE most realistic zombie game that will likely ever be made. I love the addition. It isn’t like it can’t be turned off. It is going to take me 2000 hours to get good enough to accomplish a super long apocalyptic mode run
I find it's getting easier now. My levels of fitness and strength haven't changed, I'm now able to fight all day where as I could barely end 5 zoms the first day without getting exhausted. It might be it gets easier the more you end? Dunno. I'm about to hit the tool warehouse sort of south muldraugh. I "rescued" a chicken from the nearby trailers, there's a few more running around. I found out the game wouldn't let me put it in a car trunk or a car seat, had to carry it, so it'll be a task to bring them to my chicken coop. Thankfully they are pretty self sustaining, haven't really had to do anything yet for them. No eggs yet though.
You’re not wrong, I’ve just under 2,000 hours overall and build 41 was a breeze in the end, reckon 4,000 hours I might have build 42 down :D It definitely gets easier with skill gains, I’m not too sure on if how many you put down makes it easier but I think that’s what it should be based off, the best way to do it in my opinion! Go careful with those chickens too, seen someone get death by rooster scratch because they didn’t have a bandage, playing risky games!:D Level 10 blunt over here, built like a tank (I wish)
I'm only a few minutes in to this one but you were talking about levelling fitness to combat the fatigue/strain but from what I've seen its tied to weapon skill and only very very slightly affected by fitness and strength (in my opinion it'll probably be patched) seems like an oversight PS sorry if this has been said a million times already😂 😂😂
You’re absolutely right, I got very carried away and just mass recorded for a good few hours so I reckon 70% of the things I mention in this have been corrected by now so take it all with a grain of salt :D
I still took smoker, Its not that bad. I kind of like the perk haha. Also sigarettes are not hard to find (or I have been lucky) They spawn in cars. Also make sure to check the seats, Cars are now filled with A LOT more garbage on the seats lol
I’ve been struggling to find cigarettes a lot, seems like they barely exist even in the bar! Cars are filled with stuff now though you’re right, most of it useless but you never know!
Smoker not worth it now unless you really want to roleplay it, heck, I hated the trait even on b41. Yep, car seats actually have stuff now, I just throw it all into the glove box then sort it. :)
I havent had enough time to play it yet. But I am kind of annoyed because when I heard animations were going to be added I was convinced they would finally open the dam car doors hoods and trunks. But nope. Gotta get mod still. They do so much awesome stuff and completely neglect the basics. At least uou can see cloth in your hands when you tear clothes at least.
I think it's only a matter of time before they do, they've listened a lot to the community and taken a lot of mods into consideration with the update so far so it can't be long. Closing curtains, opening car parts, lying down on a bed, there's a few to go yet I'm holding on hope!

@@Vulrhund Yep, so we can nip the ui changes in the bud right now. :) I already ranted that one to you, so no need to again right now. The lamps, well, lamps are garbage light sources anyway, I do like how the desk ones light up just the desk top. The more general ones yea, they should throw a little more ambient light. I do like the funky world globe light, lights up blue. Overall lamps are just there for electrical xp so you can run that genny, which after finding one I was surprised that just a level 3 electronics will let you hook a genny up, no book required. Now I know that, next run I'll start dismantling every tv sooner. This run is just a figure it out and see what I need to change run. Muscle strain, you can change that factor, something I'll also do next run. I'm playing with it now with the sandbox options mod. I changed the muscle strain from 1.0 to 0.75, that seems way way better. If anything, being overloaded is what is slowing my swings down too, I like that, motivates me to go back to my car and dump stuff in the trunk. Another setting I've now figured out is that after experiencing it, having a level 3 in a skill, the tv no longer added xp. That's a menu option too. Apparently that also applies to vhs, so no getting high levels later after finally getting to that hit vids far far far into the game. I'm still on the fence about turning the carpentry dismantle xp back on though. Plus side is that you can now make rain collectors at carpentry 3 and 5 as opposed to 4 and 7. Plus the low level ones now hold 400 water, dunno what the high level ones hold yet, still only carpentry 3 as I haven't figured a grind yet.
@ yeah. That’s a good summary. I agree. Nothing I’ve run across that’s game breaking. But with the latest patch. Things seem much better. Even after just a week or so of 42 being out! Makes me happy to see where this will go in the future. I had problems with lighting. And the silly floppy flops. But it’s seems way better after the patch. The straining might need just a touch more tweaking. And I’ve noticed certain weapons are so unbelievably weak in item health. Also I’ve noticed a few small bugs that I’m sure will be patch out in no time. Like writing on my map disappearing.
Anyone able to make bowls of stew? I can't figure it out. I got the pot of stew and 4 bowls, heck, even got a ladle and spoon, etc. No menu option. Even the liquid transfer doesn't work. Also another strange one, I have 3 empty glass bottles, wont let me fill with water.
Both very weird, does it work with soup? As for the glass bottles that is a very strange one, every bottle I've had has filled up seamlessly. My only suggestion is to verify the files and hope for the best
@@Vulrhund Soup? Nope. Also I very dislike how you now have to use the crafting menu to slice ham and salami. Definite step backwards there. I did finally get some other glass bottles to fill.
@@Vulrhund Wait until you get a bunch of electronics to dismantle. :) Got to do it either one by one or through the build menu. The interface definitely took 10 steps back.
Just tried it for a few like 20 minutes, the new exhaustion system makes it unplayable and really that much less enjoyable. It feels like a negative trait that would give you 12 points ! Anyway, otherwise, all the things added seem great, but yeah now all the fighting is... Not enjoyable to me. Also, I used to play with a 2x or 4x the population, but I might just play it on 0.5x because I can't bash in the Z's heads anymore, and it made the game that much harder. Cool vid otherwise ! I'm looking forward to see what the stable B42 will look like, but for now I'm a little disappointed.
It’s tough isn’t it, the only thing I’m not enjoying at all is the fatigue system but I think it is tweakable. Check the setting too there’s a lot that can be change, I think you might even be able to turn it off but don’t quote me on that! I threw it straight on 4x just to stick to old habits and it was a terrible idea :D
Tbh i'm very disapointed, exept the change on the engine for better perf and the lighting system the rest is just like hydrocraft, useful if you are playing with a big group, or doing a rp farmer, but useless in most run, the change to craft is good for some very anoying for other, the logic is quit strange, how could you rip a shirt but not rip a sock for ex. Basically its mostly adding more step to do before you can make something. The new city are very poor, lacking some important feature, aka something special, rosewood have the prison/police,firefighter/station, mudraugh the poor area and big amount of warehouse/ riverside the rich area and golf/activity club etc, also the new aiming system is strange, the emote are confusing, and the cramp you get when fighting are very anoying, will have to try to see if a max level strenght and fitness help with that.
I do get what you mean, certainly more multiplayer focused but still good fun for role playing I definitely understand what they’re trying to achieve. I don’t get the no sock ripping though I’m with you on that. I’m yet to fully explore the new cities but Brandenburg seems cool with its disaster shelters and things, shame about the others though. I think the rest will be ironed out as we go, there was already a hotfix yesterday that solved a few things but for the most part I don’t think it’s too bad, a welcome refresh to me

Positive comment.
Still just so nice and simple I love it!
Oh no way really? That is annoying, little things like that should still be a right click, not sure I like that change at all
@@Vulrhund Wait until you get a bunch of electronics to dismantle. :) Got to do it either one by one or through the build menu. The interface definitely took 10 steps back.
Certainly a bit strange isn’t it. By interface you mean crafting menu? I thought it was a whole lot better
Wearing a welding mask is gunna really block your vision.
Oh it completely blocks it off it’s wild, not tested by me yet but the cone gets really small!
I haven't put one on yet but yea, I noticed that reduced vision is on all helmets now. Hard hats are not too bad.
Oh, by the way, my build is 8 fitness, 9 strenght, and low metabolism. All this fitness seems like absolutely nothing, super weird feeling
I think the rest will be ironed out as we go, there was already a hotfix yesterday that solved a few things but for the most part I don’t think it’s too bad, a welcome refresh to me
@@Vulrhund sadly the new town dont have a lot of unique stuff to make them worth staying at, hope they will improve them =), havent checked the skyscrapper but from what i have heard they havent had a plane in the airport =(, but yeah it's a shame that hunting is like as good as taking care of cow and such cause it make it quit niche, hope we will have more stuff to do with metalworking too !
The arcade kill everything players are not having a good time
The arcade? You've lost me there, what do you mean?
@ I mean arcade play style. Shoot em bash em up type of play. Seeing as how PZ is more akin to a simulator I am pleased that play style isn’t being catered to.
Ahhh yes I get you! Absolutely how it used to be and exactly what I’m used to, it’s a big change but a big step in the right direction!
