Euge, your demos are the best, man! The only way to understand what something sounds like is to compare it and I appreciate that you compare it to 5150!
Something about the tight bottom and the mid scoop with the high end sizzle that Marshall get's just stands out. I have three of those heads the earlier model the JMP 2204 from the late 70s before the JCM switch. One of them stands out like your badboy. The holy grail of power!!
I really continue to love your style of reviewing gear, teaching along the way and of course showing your fantastic guitar playing skills. You are the real deal man. That bad boy amp is the real deal too. Nothing has dethroned that yet!

I loved your work with the VH4, but I am still always blown away by your modded JCM 800 tone. If somebody could make that sound in an affordable mini head or preamp pedal they'd...well they would have a good market share. Anyway, I think I'll plug in my VH4 pedal now and goof off. Thanks for the inspiration!

Back to stock she went with the exception of the neg FB mod on the ohm selector that added some low end thunk.
Great playing! But I wonder if there was something wrong with the powertubes of the VH4 in here? I own this amp and the amp here seems to lack low end..
Thanks! I borrowed it from a local music store to do the video and it was brand new and sounded good so probably not 🤟. I guess I just dialled a tight tone 😎.
@@EugeValovirta230V Without wanting to be a pain, when you change from the Marshall to the Diezel there's a considerable lack of bass and the VH4 is known to be an amp with a lot of bass and depth. I vote for a microphonic tube :) Anyway, good job!

Euge! Great playing as usual- would be really interested to hear that VH4 with a Marshall (any of em really but ideally with a JMP/super lead/super bass) to see if you could get that Adam Jones mid heavy crunch out of it. You know seeing that you a VH4 around would be an awesome time to do an in the style of Adam Jones. I would be very interested to hear your take on those techniques and hear you play some of his licks🤘🏻

they are pretty run of the mill techniques, the only differentiator is that its in drop d and with the amps. His songs are a favorite for rich guitarists with little time to practice cos you can learn an entire song under 30 mins.
Subbed, great playing and demo of the amp. Germans know how to make really killer metal and rock amps. Would love a Diezel amp to blend with my Bogner Uberschall amp. That is what Adam Jones of Tool does. Good choice of Boss SD-1 pedal, I use that to tighten up the clean channel 1 of my Uberschall amp. Darn now I want a new Diezel VH4 or VHX, which would you pick and why?
Thanks man! This is the only Diezel I’ve played and borrowed it from a local music shop so can’t help you with which one to choose. My all time favourite amp is Marshall JCM800 2203 and Marshalls in general which I have several and those I know like my own pockets 💪😎.
@@EugeValovirta230V nice! I actually prefer the Diezel Herbert MK3 to the VH4 from what I've heard. Yeah one day a Marshall JCM 800 would be awesome to have in my collection along with a Mesa Boogie Dual or Triple Rectifier. Marshall and Mesa defined 60s-90s rock and metal.
I guess it depends what one likes. For me the thing that works the best is just ad SD-1 in front. The resonance boosts around 80-90 hz on this one which is a bit low for tight low (around 100-120hz would be more ideal IMO) so the resonance is there just to add some thump to the sound and it works differently with different cabs / speakers etc. so the best thing is to just try and hear & feel what is the best for you 😎.
It's impossible to not like this guy. You'd see him on the street with all the tats and think he's gonna kick your ass... but low and behold.... he won't do that....worse...He'll school you on everything you don't know about amps. Love the vids!
There’s one for sale at a local music store for a really good price, I’m thinking about buying it but with it being 100W idk if that’s a good idea. Do you think volume will be a problem? I’m in an apartment.
100 watt tube amps were originally designed for big arenas back in the day when there wasn’t really a proper PA systems so they are insanely loud. I’ve had volume problems even on medium size 500-1000 people venues (too loud) 😎. But nowadays we have cab attenuators & reactive loads so these monsters could be played even on bedroom levels 👌. And yes you could run them with master volume barely open but there’s no point ’cos it’d be pretty much the same than driving a Formula 1 racing car on children’s traffic park 😎.
That I don’t know. It depends on your sound & how you play. Amps just amplify that. Obviously different amps have different tonalities but I sound like myself no matter what amp I use. But mostly I use JCM800 ’cos I like the way it amplifies my sound & playing 👌.
@@EugeValovirta230V great. I love the Splawn because they can replicate that hot rodded JCM800 tone better than anyone else in my opinion. I think the QuickRod can do a google d Plexi as well as the Modded 800 whereas the Nitro goes from an 800 clone to a more compressed metal monster, but I’m curious about what you think since you know more than I do on the subject of Marshall tones.

😎Thanks man! Glad to hear!
Hey Euge, as always thanks for the excellent review. As you are a JCM800 nut, have you had any experience with clones like Ceriatone or Wangs?
Thanks!
Nope.
I will bring my Diezel Herbert to Suomi 😎. Great playing as always.
Switzerland would suit better ’cos I live there 😎. But glad to hear & thanks!
@@EugeValovirta230V you are in a good place, man. Enjoy. And keep crushing it.
Hello Euge Cool guy, go there for the test "Marshall modern vintage".
Good to you.
If I get my hands on one then for sure 👌.
@@EugeValovirta230V Cool🖐🏻
interesting amp! is a great idea make separate send returns for each channel
It is indeed 🤟.
Great bro!!!!
Thanks C!
@@EugeValovirta230V You are wellcome E!!!!
16:20 damn that is sweet
🤟
3:09 man that’s a nice sound
Thanks!
I've captured all of this with my Quad Cortex, I am lets see: Happy! \m/
hey euge how do you think is diezel vh4 a good exchange for jcm 800 if he wants to play music in the style of zakk wylde / black label society?
JCM800 2203 is my all time favourite amp so I’d choose that over any amp. But that’s just me 😎.
@@EugeValovirta230V but will I be very close to playing such music on diezel vh4?
That I don’t know. It depends on your sound & how you play. Amps just amplify that. Obviously different amps have different tonalities but I sound like myself no matter what amp I use. But mostly I use JCM800 ’cos I like the way it amplifies my sound & playing 👌.
Great vid and amp. I have to ask though, do you have experience with a Splawn Nitro or QuickRod? Any chance you can get a hold of either one to demo?
Thanks! I haven’t but if I ever get my hands on one then for sure! 👌
Sounds (pun intended) cool! 😎💪
@@EugeValovirta230V LOL nice.
What amp switcher are you using?
KHE (AXS 8 if I remember correct 😊).
Wow it sounds pretty good. But, Nothing beats the bad boy 😎💪
Yeah! 😎💪
Greetings my friend. Quick question, which amplifier would you personally prefer between the ENGL Fireball 100, it the Diezel VH4, strictly from a tone standpoint? I am torn between purchasing one of the two! I appreciate your time and and enjoy the videos. Hands on information and you have a great sense of guitar tone. Thanks!
I’d have to play them again and would choose the one that feels better.
Thanks boss! 🤘
Is your 800 modded or stock?
They’re all stock. Well two of them are from the 80s and been blown up several times so…😎.
