      It’s actually quite disturbing why anyone would want to eliminate their biological function as a man. If you do not nut inside a woman, you will not get her pregnant. If you hate pulling out, there’s always the mouth or the ass. You can nut in there and not have to worry. To intentionally inhibit your function as a man because you don’t want kids in your 20s is mind boggling. I didn’t want kids in my 20s, and nowadays most men in their 20s don’t. Good thing I didn’t snip myself, because I eventually wanted and had kids. What young man would want to intentionally eliminate the possibility of ever expanding his gene pool?

      I got mine done 5 years ago at age 25. I'd been trying to get one since I was thirteen, when I was told wasn't allowed to get one. At 18 I didn't have the money and my parents wouldn't help me out, saying that I would change my mind when I was older. Some parents desperately want to have grandchildren and can't accept that the decision to have children isn't right for THEIR children. Even after I got one and a copy of the bill was accidentally sent to my parents house, my mother was a bit salty when she found out. Ultimately finally accepted the fact that I don't want kids.

    I got a vasectomy at 23...so, 9 years ago.
    Best decision of my life. I'll tell you: it's a myth that young men are more likely to regret the decision.
    In this era, doctors may be compelled by anti-discrimination laws regarding age: one only has to be 18 and that's if.
    I would still use protection if I don't know a girl, but at least I never have to worry about getting a girl pregnant.
    The world is coming to an end and it means I can be self-serving and not worry about the future.
    I had to go private and paid only £450; the cost of raising a child from 0-21, maybe 25 now in the current climate, is about £250,000...so, a vasectomy pays dividends.
    However I don't believe in reversals; If a man wants a reversal one day, then he shouldn't get it done.

      Did the doctor give you any push back when you requested at the age of 23 with no children? I am 33 with 1 child and thinking about getting one. Due to my personal finances and what I believe will be most beneficial to my child and wife and our financial well being. I’m just afraid a doctor will turn me away because they think I’m to young. But in all out it would be a divorce with child support. I got engaged but she broke it off when she found out I only made 35,000 a year.

    Each case is unique and the circumstances of each vasectomy candidate should be thoroughly analyzed before going through with the procedure.
    There are some young men in their early twenties or even their late teens, 18 or 19 who;
    A) Are absolutely positively a million percent sure they never ever want to have any children.
    and
    B) The thought of getting some girl pregnant absolutely positively terrifies them.
    These young men should be seriously considered for a vasectomy.

      Also if someone in the same age bracket, late teens early 20's, has a disability, for example mild retardation, autism, that makes it highly unlikely that he will ever be able to take care of a child financially or otherwise and it is highly unlikely that the condition will ever improve to the point where he would be able to take care of a child then he should also be seriously considered for a vasectomy.

Luckily my partner didn't pregnant while I was waiting to get one, and I had the comfort of knowing how repulsed she was by the idea of something growing inside her and that she would abort it if anything were to happen. Here's an excerpt from a reputable medical site:
    Persistent testicular pain (PVPS) is the most frequent vasectomy complication that can adversely affect quality of life. Because of this, it should be included in the vasectomy consent process. Due to a lack of prospective data and differing definitions for post-vasectomy pain, consensus on incidence has not been reached. In available studies, a wide range of incidence from 14-33% is reported for any testicular pain after vasectomy. A smaller group of patients, 1-5%, have severe pain that affects quality of life or sexual function. A conservative estimate for chronic PVPS of 1-5% of vasectomized men may be warranted based on available data, but the overall incidence may be higher.
