Excellent build my guy. I just picked up CV recently and have been going for just such a build, this was a big help! I've actually been experimentin with a non-melee variation that uses Cleansing Light with either Blood Sacrifice or Supernatural Blood (or both) to mitigate iker loss via sacrificing HP, which I think works especially well if you're paired with a tank to draw the enemy's attention. If the boss is not focused on me I can just cycle through spells mixed with Blood Sacrifice between cooldowns to keep just firing off spells which I think is pretty neat.
After some additional recording I now have clarity on the various Queen codes and so I wanted to discuss those briefly as they relate to certain spells. My understanding is there are 5 queen codes available in the game, 1 which you can get during a good ending playthrough (Queen) by meeting specific conditions and 4 more which require you to fail to restore the Successors (Ribcage, Breath, Claw, and Throat). The base one (Queen) is the most valuable in terms of spells, and requires finding all the the Eos vestiges before beating the final boss, in addition to restoring all the successors. I'll be doing an updated build video featuring a couple of these spells after I finish up with the depths to ensure there's no other special spells I missed.
When you pick up Queen proper check out the Ivory Grace line of Ivy Blood Veils as well as swapping out your stamina buff for Hephaestus' Mobility based damage boost. With the wolf sword and this combo of passive/veil/code you get quick mobility which is a huge flat % damage boost. Also if you're not aware you can get rid of the drain buff passive for the health per kill one, give yourself Harmonia's Health for Ichor active and Queenslayers portion of damage taken healed back for the ability to use the Queenslayer active, then for every cast of the health for ichor active you only need to kill one mob to be health neutral, it's awesome.
Taste My Broth can be dropped by the Cerberus Unit Lost for that area, so that’s a optional weapon to farm in that area. Just make sure Revenant’s Greed perk is on for better chance of dropping loot.
might as well add that once you reach ng+ 6 it does not matter how much hp you have since everything is a one shot city anyways so might as well go for more icor passive instead of hp :D.
You can find an Argent Wolf Blade in the dried up trenches, there is a ladder you can go down with an enemy guarding a chest, the blade is in there, so you can get that quite early. Thanks for the build. Going to be working towards this for sure, getting tired of using greatswords. Edit: I made a mistake, realised the weapon is not inside the chest, it actually dropped from the dude guarding the chest. I had a route running through there getting some skill proficiency and I believe it dropped on my 6th or 7th run.
@@kaiquesenacroft Ok so basically, stick to the main path until you get to the area where there are a few big guys, ones will be on top of the crates, there will be a few smaller guys too, then head left, the path be uphill. Follow that path until you see a guy with a shied, kill him and go down the ladder behind him, the guy with the blade is down there.

nice build I'm going to try that! one thing you should do is instead of spamming light attack on single targets to get ichor (11:50) - do a drain combo by pressing "Square -> R1+X" (Xbox: "X -> RB+A" I think) you deal same/more dmg depending on bloodveil and get more ichor back
You can get the argent sword in the 4th area of the game, there is one enemy protecting a chest that uses it, got it in around 10 kills with the passive that increases drop rates.
I use Queen blood code and Eva’s weapon. Will and mind are both at A and if you run the right passives it can be an S rank. The amount of raw power is crazy.
Fortified Zweihander +10 is the most broken. A perfect 💯 across the board for physical defenses and the second highest raw damage in the game edged out by less than 50pts by one of the super late game greatswords, there's no reason to use anything else; and with the Atlas code you can just soak anything that breaks your block. I'm sorry, what? You want free focus for blocking attacks? Here you go. Don't feel like blocking and just wanna cleave through everything? We gotcha covered. It's much more disgusting than any mage build could ever be.
Dist0rt3d Hum0r Final boss GS is actually better because the uncharged heavy is litteraly as fast as a straightsword attack, with double the damage of a normal GS hit
This is the first dark mage guide I've seen that suggests isis over artemis, midgame. And honestly? I agree. Just don't get too used to the super high weight limit, it has lol.

I opted to run a balanced Spellsword build: -Isis code -Passives: Dex/Will up, Str/Dex up, One Handed Sword Mastery, Max Ichor Boost. -Actives: get the elemental AOE burst spells, rock two of them at once based on enemy weaknesses/resistances per zone. Get the elemental blades. Get two of the long range spells costing 6 ichor. A Call Beyond, obviously. Finally, get a couple melee focused ones for flavor and function. -Blaze Claw and Suicide Spur. Best part of this build? Its stamina efficiency. Blast dudes with magic and it costs NO stamina. Get your hits/backstabs in to restore ichor, saving most of your stamina for mobility and defense against stronger enemies. And as for crawling through the level with ankle biters, you're perfectly equipped to cut them down with your sword. Bit of a glass cannon, but not nearly as big a problem as I foresaw.
Skathak btw for Scathach, and Sanguine isn't Sang-ween.... it's Sang-win. Gotta work on that English mate... Also not sure if you should keep these vids up if they're out-of-date since a lot of nerfs went out to caster builds 6-12 months after you posted this.

I think if you're gonna run a pure mage build, not getting the MP gift that increases Mind/Willpower is big mistake since it only takes very few Medals to get. Also, I havent seen any videos on this yet, but combining Cleansing Light from Player's Code and Blood Sacrifice from Hunter, can net you 60+ ichor almost for "free", which works out great since all you don't even need to melee bosses past a certain point of scaling. No point in having more than 5 damage spells, since some of them are less efficient than others, so my bot wheel is reserved for these setup buffs
@@FightinCowboy I did not see if you have it unlocked or not, but I know you didnt use it, as it is an active ability. Just look under the mark of honour unlocks, it's the only thing that's not a title/badge thingie, costs 4 ichor and last a long time. I can't find any link to it, if you want I can send a screenshot when I play again some other day, but it DOES exist x)
Wait is it an active buff for spell damage? Maybe I haven't found it yet. I have the passive for wisdom/mind but I don't recall an active. I know certain codes are locked behind choices required for the bad ending so I may have missed out
Personally I would not recommend using the Barrage type spells on this build. Since they're Light based, they're Mind scaled, NOT Willpower. Which means that the true potential of the Barrage spell is gimped in this build
Queen blood code is also pretty strong, purging thorn does 9k damage. i have 1292 dark. i'd say this is more of a nuke than the 4 giant electric orbs. instead of ice barrage, i'd use plasma roar. i am doing 5k damage and dont suffer from the spread that ice barrage has. also, instead of bloodshot i'd use argent wolf cross which costs only one more ichor than bloodshot and argent wolf cross can hit multiple enemies and it deals almost double the damage (bloodshot ~1.3k vs argent wolf cross ~2.3k at 1292 dark)
Didn't even know the Queen code existed because you only get it via fucking up and not finding all the vestiges 😂 As for plasma roar/argent wolf cross I'd still recommend barrage & blood shot. The whole point of fire/ice barrage are that they're instant casts for when stuff is close range. Same thing for blood shot, it's an instant throw out for when you need a pinch of damage to kill stuff. Both spells you mentioned have a 2-3 second cast window which is pointless unless you're using them as your nukes in which case they're inferior to Voilate Storm in most cases.
FightinCowboy woah, I fucked up? God damnit, I thought the only ones that mattered were the vestiges needed to restore the successors memories (сuz maybe they’re tied to the story) I got all of those but not all of the other blood code vestiges. D:
@@les8947 Did more testing, turns out the Queen (just Queen, not ribcage or whatever) is tied to the Eos vestiges. As long as you get them before fighting final boss you can get it, even in the post-game, I went back and was able to acquire it after grabbing Eos C which was the only one missing prior to the final boss.
Hey, just curious. Will you be doing builds that aren't buff heavy? I personally have no issue with the scaling of the game so I don't feel the need to Min/Max my damage even on Ng+. I would like to see fun builds that don't require you to buff yourself with like 4 buffs everytime you need to engage.
Which would be the best single buffs to have active. So far Bridge to glory is my go to. I'm not really looking to stack. Typically I can manage my Ichor well enough to pretty much spam skills. So instead of multi buffs. I like to have my slot filled with actives that damage or apply status.

Hey Everyone, quick question. Been looking around to see which Hounds Blood vein would be good for a magic class or hybrid class with magic as a second component. I know claw or ivy type is normally better but I love the hounds so I was hoping there was one that would work perfectly or at least be decent. Any of the ones that use it, though I believe you can also get it in a chest in the final area. Just use one of the alternatives till you find it, your sword is only for drain after all.
Can you say which blood codes some of these belong in I know what they are called but I’m sitting here searching for the blood codes the passives and spells belong too
Is this game good? I've been wanting to get this but I'm not sure about the mixed reviews. Although the good reviews are actually from people who actually plays souls and the bad reviews from journos. Would you recommend this?
Thousand-Burger Destroyer is recommended it, it’s one of the most fun games i’ve played this year, i’ve played every souls like game if that helps you decide
the stats in this game makes 0 sense, i watched this video and noticed something strange which im trying to figure out how it can be possible, my dark gift stats are higher then the ones this build has and yet this build is hitting alot harder then mine is
Really cool queen skill that costs 1 igor and gives you 5 to 10 igor depending on how far away from the enemy you are so having that skill with this build oh my igor gains

In my opinion? Not for the full price, there is so much of recycling with enemies, combat is... Hmmm you run with great sword or magic mybe something in the middle but game has very long stagger time that resets after each attack you take, it leads to not being able to move at all expecially when 3 dogs attack you one by one and you just see how your hp vanishes and you can't dodge or guard it. almost every enemy bigger than you has huge poise that forces you to make dodges, not really bad but most of the fight are you VS many huge poise enemies(looking for dodge only run) it says souls like but feels like slasher with souls mechanic
@@Anabaseios hope I helped, literally finished game 30mins ago, and that's what I feel after 30h straight of playing this game. Idea for the game and lore is awesome, everything is lore based and nothing comes from the sky, game would be better as slasher than souls like
@@Anabaseios one more thing, too many high poise enemies have close to 360 degree attack pattern, so even if your partner takes agro from the enemy there is high chance that when you try to come closer to get that back hit or stab you will just be hitted
Fight the Silva dudes that wield it out in the field. The guys that are dressed up like Davis. Theres one in the dried trenches I believe it's called? The one with the despot boss where you see jack and eva. That's where I farmed mine. He was guarding a healing item booster
Another tip for early game, you can use darkseeker's gift Blood-draining Venom to get ichor, specially from beefy enemies and bosses. With Venom shot, Venom trap and Venom sunset sword, it can give you a lot of ichor. Venom sword also does more damage than devour sword, but It wont work on regular enemies since the'll die before getting poisoned.
@@armageddragoon2514 What's "better" is subjective. The Oni at +10 only has +58 more damage than the Zwei does. Now Fortify the Oni and it gets a little extra damage yea, but nowhere near as good defense. Now if you're running a heavier build that relies on blocking, taking chip damage might not be desirable. I personally like the stab of the Zwei over the little jump thing that the Oni does because I dont like being put out of positioning like that. Its good for if you get backed into a corner, but one should never be in that position anyway. If you want a more turtle playstyle, then Zwei is where its at, but if you're a lighter, more agile build with a Greatsword, then go Oni, because you're probs not going to be blocking that much.
Better off using cognitive zeal and bloodsucking blades for the bottom left and right d-pad buttons blood sucking blades skyrockets your absorption so you spend less time refueling and the buff just increases your dmg even more
I tried out cognitive zeal and didn't feel like it was substantial enough to justify. I could see BSB, though you could just bring Mia along for the buff.
Pretty late but basically: Theres was a catastrophe that took place so to combat the monsters that were unleashed remnants and someone called the red queen were created. The red queen was a women named Cruz that was infected by medical to try to empower her to combat the catastrophe but in doing so she lost control and prior to events in the game she was defeated by remnants. The game starts with you waking up as a remnant and trying to piece together your story and the stories of your allies and the back story of the game. As a remnant as long as your heart isnt destroyed and you're turned to ash, you can be resurrected but in doing so you lose pieces of your memories which explains your amnesia and your allies not remembering everything as well.
This build is absolutely devastating! It's just a shame that Suicide Spur (and its color variants) looks absolutely ridiculous and not magicky at all. In terms of looks for Magic the Blackblood, Shawls, and Vestments look way better. It's a shame they aren't good for this build. (well Blackblood is but Spurs is better, just looks ridiculous).
I mean what's your level? Are you using the same equipment like blood veil etc? If you're not using the same blood code veil etc you can go overweight due to that. If all else fails you can look into transforming it to the weapon tree that reduces its weight. It cuts down on damage but allows you to get better movement
@@mortenlarsen7220 ikr, i used dark magic on NG and then swapped to light magic on NG+ hitting 10k per barrage makes the boss fights pretty fast, which is what you ideally want. (4 ichor on a 2sec CD and you can spam them like crazy)
@@hachetduck4276 Ive seen the barrages can do alot of damage, 10k not sure about that however. I only use dark magic, as there is a lot more too use and way cooler powers, plus i can still set up one hell of a burst. And honestly maybe light would be better, not sure if it would or not. However i actually like how i need to have my movement and dodges really on point.
@@mortenlarsen7220 Final Journey + Bridge to Glory are your damage buffs. Granted you only have 3mins to kill the boss, but when your light spells are cheap, fast to cast and do 10k per, 3mins seems like a long time

Yea final journey is amazing, im sad you cannot inherit all gifts, but i understand why cause that would make something like twilight stupid broken as its already the most damaging spell in the game. And yes ive tested it, purging thorn comes second which is super close between the two.

This guy’s whole world is gonna change when he unlocks the Queen blood code. Those spells are hard core.
You can get the sword in the dried up trenches. You have to farm the white hooded enemy at the bottom of a ladder.

I think there was a gift on Karen’s code that allows instant casting but I might be getting confused

I messed around with that but it loses effectiveness on bosses. Health on drain is a safer bet if you want consistent healing.

FYI, the barrage spells are light skills and scale with mind, this build focuses on dark skills and scale with willpower.

Argent wolf blade is not lategame you can get it in the rusty cliffs area, the one enemy there has a good chance to drop it

Because you don't need it with drain, you can refill 40 ichor pretty quickly just whacking away and backstabbing

Queen blood code is also pretty strong, purging thorn does 9k damage. i have 1292 dark. i'd say this is more of a nuke than the 4 giant electric orbs. instead of ice barrage, i'd use plasma roar. i am doing 5k damage and dont suffer from the spread that ice barrage has. also, instead of bloodshot i'd use argent wolf cross which costs only one more ichor than bloodshot and argent wolf cross can hit multiple enemies and it deals almost double the damage (bloodshot ~1.3k vs argent wolf cross ~2.3k at 1292 dark)
Didn't even know the Queen code existed because you only get it via fucking up and not finding all the vestiges 😂
As for plasma roar/argent wolf cross I'd still recommend barrage & blood shot. The whole point of fire/ice barrage are that they're instant casts for when stuff is close range. Same thing for blood shot, it's an instant throw out for when you need a pinch of damage to kill stuff. Both spells you mentioned have a 2-3 second cast window which is pointless unless you're using them as your nukes in which case they're inferior to Voilate Storm in most cases.

@@les8947 Did more testing, turns out the Queen (just Queen, not ribcage or whatever) is tied to the Eos vestiges. As long as you get them before fighting final boss you can get it, even in the post-game, I went back and was able to acquire it after grabbing Eos C which was the only one missing prior to the final boss.
Hey, just curious. Will you be doing builds that aren't buff heavy? I personally have no issue with the scaling of the game so I don't feel the need to Min/Max my damage even on Ng+. I would like to see fun builds that don't require you to buff yourself with like 4 buffs everytime you need to engage.
You don't need to buff with 4 everytime you engage, you typically only multibuff for boss fights, otherwise I'll only keep a long buff active
Which would be the best single buffs to have active. So far Bridge to glory is my go to. I'm not really looking to stack. Typically I can manage my Ichor well enough to pretty much spam skills. So instead of multi buffs. I like to have my slot filled with actives that damage or apply status.
I think he missed the Queen blood code, that code has spells that hit like a fucking truck

Spur is from the sand zone, wolf from the final area

Spur is found 100%, sword is dropped though I think there's also a chest with one as well

did some of the spells get Nerf bc i use that same spell(sand) with more dark gift stat then in this video( same setup) and do 1000 less dps?

Hey Everyone, quick question. Been looking around to see which Hounds Blood vein would be good for a magic class or hybrid class with magic as a second component. I know claw or ivy type is normally better but I love the hounds so I was hoping there was one that would work perfectly or at least be decent. Thanks for any advice

Any of the ones that use it, though I believe you can also get it in a chest in the final area. Just use one of the alternatives till you find it, your sword is only for drain after all.
Why not use Purging Thorn over Fourfold Vedict?
I find the slow tracking of Fourfold to be more reliable in setting up big bursts

In the dried up trenches, there is a ladder you can go down with an enemy guarding a chest, kill the enemy and he might drop the sword

Not for the full price, there is so much of recycling with enemies, combat is... Hmmm you run with great sword or magic mybe something in the middle but game has very long stagger time that resets after each attack you take, it leads to not being able to move at all expecially when 3 dogs attack you one by one and you just see how your hp vanishes and you can't dodge or guard it. almost every enemy bigger than you has huge poise that forces you to make dodges, not really bad but most of the fight are you VS many huge poise enemies(looking for dodge only run) it says souls like but feels like slasher with souls mechanic

@@Anabaseios one more thing, too many high poise enemies have close to 360 degree attack pattern, so even if your partner takes agro from the enemy there is high chance that when you try to come closer to get that back hit or stab you will just be hitted
how to you get argent wolf blade the one handed weapon
Fight the Silva dudes that wield it out in the field. The guys that are dressed up like Davis. Theres one in the dried trenches I believe it's called? The one with the despot boss where you see jack and eva. That's where I farmed mine. He was guarding a healing item booster
Another tip for early game, you can use darkseeker's gift Blood-draining Venom to get ichor, specially from beefy enemies and bosses. With Venom shot, Venom trap and Venom sunset sword, it can give you a lot of ichor. Venom sword also does more damage than devour sword, but It wont work on regular enemies since the'll die before getting poisoned.
Is it possible to play this game without the partner AI?
Yeah, but you are gimping yourself as the game is mostly designed to have a companion.
Yeah, I'd recommend keep a partner for areas, but going solo makes the bosses more interesting.
GamePlay yeah, just go to them in home base and talk to them and select stop partnering

There are a few weapons that have better scaling yes, but their base damage is so much lower that the extra scaling doesnt make up for it.
What's the definitive STR build weapon then? I thought the Oni Blade has better base damage AND better scaling.

What's "better" is subjective. The Oni at +10 only has +58 more damage than the Zwei does. Now Fortify the Oni and it gets a little extra damage yea, but nowhere near as good defense. Now if you're running a heavier build that relies on blocking, taking chip damage might not be desirable.
I personally like the stab of the Zwei over the little jump thing that the Oni does because I dont like being put out of positioning like that. Its good for if you get backed into a corner, but one should never be in that position anyway.
If you want a more turtle playstyle, then Zwei is where its at, but if you're a lighter, more agile build with a Greatsword, then go Oni, because you're probs not going to be blocking that much.
Nice build, I like a real glass canyon build in a "dark souls" game.
Me too because they carry over so well into ng+ and beyond where you can't afford to take damage regardless, may as well do high damage.
Better off using cognitive zeal and bloodsucking blades for the bottom left and right d-pad buttons blood sucking blades skyrockets your absorption so you spend less time refueling and the buff just increases your dmg even more
I tried out cognitive zeal and didn't feel like it was substantial enough to justify. I could see BSB, though you could just bring Mia along for the buff.

Personally I like to use Bayonet. I swap betwen Isis and Harmonia. Also I like to use Blood Sacrifice just to get free Ichor.

What is this game about
Pretty late but basically:
Theres was a catastrophe that took place so to combat the monsters that were unleashed remnants and someone called the red queen were created. The red queen was a women named Cruz that was infected by medical to try to empower her to combat the catastrophe but in doing so she lost control and prior to events in the game she was defeated by remnants. The game starts with you waking up as a remnant and trying to piece together your story and the stories of your allies and the back story of the game. As a remnant as long as your heart isnt destroyed and you're turned to ash, you can be resurrected but in doing so you lose pieces of your memories which explains your amnesia and your allies not remembering everything as well.

This build is absolutely devastating! It's just a shame that Suicide Spur (and its color variants) looks absolutely ridiculous and not magicky at all. In terms of looks for Magic the Blackblood, Shawls, and Vestments look way better. It's a shame they aren't good for this build. (well Blackblood is but Spurs is better, just looks ridiculous).

I mean what's your level? Are you using the same equipment like blood veil etc? If you're not using the same blood code veil etc you can go overweight due to that. If all else fails you can look into transforming it to the weapon tree that reduces its weight. It cuts down on damage but allows you to get better movement

@@mortenlarsen7220 ikr, i used dark magic on NG and then swapped to light magic on NG+
hitting 10k per barrage makes the boss fights pretty fast, which is what you ideally want. (4 ichor on a 2sec CD and you can spam them like crazy)
@@hachetduck4276 Ive seen the barrages can do alot of damage, 10k not sure about that however. I only use dark magic, as there is a lot more too use and way cooler powers, plus i can still set up one hell of a burst. And honestly maybe light would be better, not sure if it would or not. However i actually like how i need to have my movement and dodges really on point.

Granted you only have 3mins to kill the boss, but when your light spells are cheap, fast to cast and do 10k per, 3mins seems like a long time

Yea final journey is amazing, im sad you cannot inherit all gifts, but i understand why cause that would make something like twilight stupid broken as its already the most damaging spell in the game. And yes ive tested it, purging thorn comes second which is super close between the two.
