I'm currently doing the tower of trials and she's in it. Now that I have enough ichor/strong enough gifts, I don't block a single time. Her AI is extremely manipulatable in the first phase, and phase 2 all you have to do is dodge those dives and its EZ
Oh, thank goodness. You allowed yourself to block attacks. Trust me, not blocking makes Code Vein into a veritable hell. I focused more on dodging and using consumables or Blood Sacrifice to get ichor. Some bosses were definitely harder than others. I suppose I’ll compare my experience to yours. Oliver Collins: Annoying as hell. Generally went the same way your fight against him did, but without blocking and more pain. Also was a bit higher level, I’d wager. Butterfly of Delirium: Never have I been so close to crying in years. That blasted charge attack ruined me multiple times, because I still haven’t figured out how to predict the poison. The damned spins and poison spit didn’t help matters. Blood Sacrifice really was the MVP here. Insatiable Despot: Honestly underwhelming. I always thought he was easy on normal runs, but he may have been easier since I was constantly fighting from a longer range. Invading Executioner: Pain. Doesn’t understand personal space and that I’m not interested in her advances. Went similar to your run, but less hoping the attacks could be blocked and more bullet hell dodging. Most of the times I went for an Ichor Concentrate, the damned boss would invade my personal space and execute me. Cathedral of the Sacred Blood: Damn this maze and its stupid tricks (and monkeys). Why would they put a mass of enemies between the last Mistle and the boss? Argent Wolf Berserker: Pffft. Queen’s Knight: Blasted spins. That’s all, really. The shield bash never hit because I was practicing social distancing before it was cool. His teleporting attacks got annoying, but I died around half of the times he spun.
The biggest issue with it is the fact that a majority of the better codes and abilities are gate-kept behind white castle which this creature essentially guards the door to. The game effectively tells you that unless you play like a pansy and poke it with ranged attacks while you let Yakumo fight the battle for you then you're gonna be in for a bad time. No playing the game YOU want for you, mister.
The Poison DOT is crippling especially with how little healing you have at the time, and some of the attacks it has are a little tricky to dodge. That one where it charges you leaving poison clouds being the worst offender since it can come in from weird angles/timings. Its not the hardest thing in the game but its hard for an early boss.

Andy, I have a challenge I've always thought about and wanted to see done. Astral Chain no upgrades. The only upgrade you can ever get is the forced baton upgrade in order to progress a tutorial. Otherwise, no legion leveling, no legatus leveling, everything as low as possible. This limits your moveset and could lead to some interesting strats as the game progresses. I know AC is only on switch, though, and I don't know if you have a capture card for it. Still an idea I think you could enjoy.
you got me to buy code vein. it was on sale for like $15 so I got it and I've been playing for like 3 days straight. Ive just beaten Nichola and gotten his blood code.
>runs essentially a caster build >gets a bit ruffled over relying on lock-on Psstt... you can fire off spells free-aim, just have to tolerate looking at gift-chan's butt since the rough "crosshair" is centered on the base of the spine. Go on, give it a try. I used this method originally to shoot down hanging ambush enemies in the government building, and eventually I got good at firing spells off unlocked during boss fights. Ah, the memories are coming back to me now. I have over 800 hours in this game and probably thousands of co-op tokens on my NG+5 character. I wouldn't call myself the best player ever: I don't do meta builds and I've never done all bosses solo, but I will call myself the #1 Cathedral tour guide because NOBODY else took that job lol. All that mastery was not there in the beginning. The Butterfly took me two hours the first time I played, the frickin' Gilded Hunter took me less attempts that that! And the Execution even now is tricky. Even when you know her moves and general behavior, she can and will surprise you because of how fast her slide attack is and how huge its hitbox is. Many times she's turned the tides on me, but I don't get mad anymore
Today I missed roughly 50 attacks due to targeting being awful, and missed every free aim I attempted (about 5). It makes me sick how an enemy can move 2 steps and because casting and everything is so slow it just misses. If you're that skilled, maybe you have some advice on my current issues. @@ChallengerAndyOfficial Idk how it's so popular, if they even have info there's huge chances the info isn't even accurate. I haven't used them since DS2:SoTFS came out, the other wikis always update with accurate info before Fextra steals it and I'd rather have no info than misleading info.
@@Graysett There website looks pretty nice. It'd look better if it actually had information
That shield bash around 21:00 is so tree sentinel. Gotta love it
I mean....code vein did it first
Dude i finished code vein from like 5 months and i have to say that looking at you doing this is torture.
Your suffering must have been legendary my friend. Mad respect!
I searched for code vein no gifts and found this run. I just finished part 1 and subbed. Great jokes, made me lol. 👌
CV is actually pretty pog and im happy people are playing it
Amazing video as always
1:30 u fogot to mention backstabs i think
Love your vids man, keep up the good work
Thank you!
Yo I just found your channel today and binged most of your videos. You make good shit man, you're hella underrated. Keep making quality stuff :)
Thanks! Stream Highlight video should be released this week, and next run video in May!
you got me to buy code vein. it was on sale for like $15 so I got it and I've been playing for like 3 days straight. Ive just beaten Nichola and gotten his blood code.
>runs essentially a caster build
>gets a bit ruffled over relying on lock-on
Psstt... you can fire off spells free-aim, just have to tolerate looking at gift-chan's butt since the rough "crosshair" is centered on the base of the spine.
Find my comment on this video: th-cam.com/video/F0n__V-qDc0/w-d-xo.html
@@ChallengerAndyOfficial I'll have to practice your build, and get some rust out since I've been away from my desktop for a while, but I'd be happy to give it a shot
@@ThatMattaTatta No need now. I am very confident that I will defeat post-game tomorrow
Love this video for inspiring me to try a similar challenge and subsequently getting the game
Awesome! What challenge are you doing?
@@ChallengerAndyOfficial I just finished it yesterday but more or less same constraints with no blocking, parries allowed without the drain attack. So no parries on mobs since auto drain attacks on them was the same story for argent wolf berserker

i finally understand the value of bathwater...
I swear the cathedral of sacred blood allowed me to HEAR the sadist that deigned it laughing his/her ass off at everyone collectively losing their shit
ahh yes my favorite dark souls video
0:02 I laughed too hard at this silly bit
I love your videos. You know what makes them even better? You saying Zweihander properly.
0:36 Sounds like all souls games. Honestly.
as soon as delirum starts charging dodge spam to your left w.o the camera lock on, took me forever to learn to avoid her attacks but you move a bit more slowly while locked on, if you wait a second or dodge right, she'll either smack you or hit you with a poison cloud
So uh...i fought the insatiable despot and the butterfly before the stripper in my playthrough yesterday, first playthrough ever btw, so Mia never really entered a coma... She was just immediately awake after the fight
hahahahaha
Kudos to you mate. I remember how much bullshit I went through doing a pipe-only run (no partners and no gifts that directly dealt damage) and that's only a portion of the assery you had to go through
Damn, I actually learned more about this game's mechanics than me actually playing the game up to 99%
Way too many things to read + me not wanting to use my brain outside of bonk/shoot
Glad the algorithm lead me here
MONO went through HELL before getting to Six.
Commenting for the edited format, that's the best I like
0:14 alright
Thanks!
Props to you for doing this... 😮💨That must've been painful
How is this guy not getting 5 mil+ views per video?
