I have a problem where i want to connect from windows 11 to windows 8 with network share. It does not work.
The folders are shared, other computers can see it, just not the new Windows 11.
I have same admin account on both Win 11 and Win 8 pcs, but does not want to connect. Other computers can connect to windows 8 but not this new windows 11.
This windows 11 pc can connect to all other windows 10 pcs, just not the windows 8 pc.
So everything else works on the network except this windows 11 pc does not want to connect to windows 8 pc.
I am pulling my hair out.
I looked at firewalls on both pcs, looks fine.
Any advice for me?
Thanks.
In the search bar type Credential Manager, click on Windows Credentials, Microsoft account user, edit, copy User Name... then goto the windows asking for the credentials and paste. put your own password for the computer you are using not the other computer. Good luck... It took me for ever to try it to make it work. And it was that simple.

Thank you
If your Microsoft username (usually your Microsoft email address) does not work try using the name that you gave the main PC you are using and your Microsoft account ( email account you use for Microsoft password). That's what worked for me worked for me. and it's same for the other PC you are using as well.
Oh my God! Thank you Very Much, i was Trying 100 of Time from TH-cam Videos, but u r awesome. Thanks Alot

We can do without the clutter of background music that drowns out your voice. But worked like a charm. Thanks.
Ok!
thanks alot, this worked for me after spending hours finding for the solution
🤩
Very useful! My first pc with windows 10 pro was visible on the second pc with windows 10 Home in 'network', but the second pc with windows 10 Home was not visible on the first pc with windows 10 pro . The technique with the shortcuts from your other video and this one helped. Although the windows 10 pro on my first pc asked for just the "username" and the "password", not the "computername\username ". You deserve more subscribers !

Microsoft knows your account only...
its work thank you
username: ip of the network
password: microsoft account password
Doesn't work for me. I have 5 shared drives on my desktop and my laptop recognizes my other computer name and Microsoft e-mail. I put in my Microsoft password and I get a wrong password error.
1. You must enter the account name exactly as shown in the video - this may be the cause of the problem.
2. Edit - change from public to private network.
3. Sometimes problems occur if you have a local account on one computer and a Microsoft account on another.
If one of the computers has a Microsoft account, then we do the following for it:
open "Settings", then "Accounts", open the "Your Information" tab and click "Sign in with a local account".
Not working for me... tried the e-mail account used as microsoft account, and later the name... but nothing worked...
you can log in to Windows with a local account on a PC with a Microsoft account and the problem will disappear.
To do this, open Settings, then Accounts, open the Info tab and there click on "Sign in with a local account".
its woorks!! thanksss finally

Video starts with click this i click on an icon. What icon, there is none showing in your video???
I'm sorry - I did it too quickly, that's my mistake.
If you press pause, you can see that I clicked on the PC-2 icon

Thank you for noticing my mistake!
Tonight I will delete this video and make another one.
what if theres no passwords and no microsoft account - Nobody covers that
So where is the "Fix" for when there is a problem? All I see is 1:37 of how to map a network drive.
How can a microsoft account consist of two words? I think that should be one word, shouldn't it?
The Microsoft account name consists of two words, and not one word.
doesn't work. I wonder if usernames are not working, I also tried my MS email and account password, no dice
If one of the PCs has a Microsoft account and the other PC has a local account, then try the following:
On a PC with a Microsoft account, open Settings, then the Accounts section, and here open the Your Info tab, in this tab click “Sign in with a local account instead” and create a local account.
All your data will remain in place and the problem will be solved.
@@ipMalik hi, where can i find the "sign in with local account instead" in mc windows 11?
Thnx bro@@ipMalik
@@Emman-ul9mq Hi - Start button, then Settings, Accounts, open the Your info tab, and in this tab click on “Log in with a local account instead”
@@ipMalik Great video - but nothing worked for me. 2 Windows 11 machines trying to get access to a Windows 10 share....one machine can, the other can't and the settings and share permissions are identical on both Win11 machines. All machines are running local accounts, user is administrator...oh, and I've been doing this for > 30 years....conclusion? Microsoft doesn't care one fig about consistency and reliability - they only care about sales. I have never had these issues with any other operating system. Still thanks for the video, I'm sure it has helped people.
Those who don't have Microsoft account then what to do
If you have a Microsoft account on one of your computers, log into Windows on that computer using a local account, this may solve the problem.
you saved my time bro, thanks a lot
Ok😊😊
