Hi dude. I just want to thank you, about everything you do. I just love your projects. On our after school lessons we use your videos that teach us a lot. Good luck, and we all appreciate it! :D
Same from me a big thank you! I was looking for a channel that does clean, good and useful tutorials and I found it ! The fact that you do it for free is amazing, most of the people would ask for money for tutorials like this but you do it for free which I really apreciate and that's why I say thank you ! :) Keep your channel going, its great, really. Greetings from Berlin ! :D
Hey Nick, longtime subscriber and viewer here. Your tutorials have really helped over the past year to increase my skills in Inkscape. I love the program and it's been really useful to an aspiring designer like me who cannot afford Illustrator! I look forward to each new tutorial you put out each week even if it's for beginners because I always learn something new and you're an amazing teacher! Keep up the great work and I hope your channel continues to grow :-)
Another great tutorial, thank you man. Can you please do a tutorial on how you come up with these designs, what inspires you on the the design and stuff. I'm pretty sure a lot of people want to see that!
Hey Nick, I love your videos. Just wanted to say to anyone watching that you can make sure of the alignment of the two bottom points of a 5-point star from the start by holding control and dragging vertically when you create it. Anyway, sterling work, man. Your tutorials are excellent.
Hey Nick! I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to do these tutorials! I am learning so much. I am a self-taught designer so I am always looking for videos! I am currently an invitation designer and wanted to get into logo design. I can't really afford Photoshop so Inkscape has been a life saver! There is still a ton that I don't know about logo design and all the tools to use without seeing a tutorial lol But I will get there hopefully! Thanks again! :)
I Figured it out 1- click the green tab and click ungroup 2- then select red circle and the outer green line (stroke) then go to path Difference 3- delete the green that is left 4-click on the blue and duplicate it and then select the red circle and go to path Difference I hope this helps please tell me if this helped you!
@@Mahmoud-Alharazeen Thank you! I seemed to have ended up with extra bits and pieces. I found if I un-group at least 2 times it worked the way you described.
These are excellent tutorials. I subbed a long time ago and still watch your videos to learn how to do things in Gimp and Inkscape. I just started trying to learn Inkscape.... My only feedback would be ... if you could slow down and explain "why" you are doing something. You do an excellent job of instructing us to go up and select "stroke to path"...but we don't know "WHY" we need to do this. What does selecting this allow us to do that won't be available without selecting it? Just a suggestion. Thanks again for the great videos Nick!
Dear Mr nick can you please tell that on your website no link is available to your TH-cam videos and its difficult to specific videos like iam searching for videos on snapping but haven't found secondly can you make videos on trace bitmap explaining optimize and spackle function and and other function
I've been trying to follow this tutorial for some time and all the other tutorials seem to work so smoothly so I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong. But whenever I duplicate the first blue object (5:13) and make it green and create the stroke and then I click stroke to path it doesn't do anything? I've tried starting over so many times and idk how to fix it? object to path (blue object) > duplicate > change to green > create stroke > ?stroke to path? the stroke to path doesn't ever do anything at this point, if anyone is able to give some feedback, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
This is because of a change that Inkscape made to how Stroke To Path works. I have an update video about that here: th-cam.com/video/Sy0nUkUt9CA/w-d-xo.html That should (hopefully) fix your problem.
Thank you very much for this tutorial. I was able to replicate it just like the video....helping me to learn the basic tools and functions of inkscape more than any of the other tutorials I have watched....will be starting a marathon of your videos now!
idk if there was an update or something to the program, but i follow your steps, but as soon as i wanna click the red circle in the middle to make it black, it selects the whole circle no matter what i do ^^ any ideas to why that is ?
Hi Nick! Great vid. The only thing that I have a problem with is that the break apart option doesn't work and the colour in the middle doesn't appear. I did everything.
Maybe because it's my first time, but I feel like everything just kept going wrong and I couldn't get past the part where you did the intersections. Also my circled turned black instead of red and I just gave up cause I started over like 10 times already
Hi thank you for the tuto I want to ask you is there any way to place the handle of bezier tool after doing a curve like in illustrator with the ALT key ,
I have a fresh install of Inkscape. The default layout is nothing like yours, following along is very challenging. Buttons are in different places, or don't even show by default. For example, I don't have an option for the ''align and distribute objects" button. A link to a video of how to set up Inkscape the same as yours would be helpful. I look forward to checking out more of your videos once I have Inkscape figured out a little better in the future.
I love your videos. I'm just wondering if you used inkscape for paying and professional clients or if you used something like Adobe illustrator or Photoshop
Nick Saporito I use Illustrator but I recently switched to Inkscape because I'm on a budget. I thought my work would suffer but seeing your channel has encouraged me. Your work is REALLY good and I appreciate you making videos for specifically Inkscape. You got a new subscriber :D
Hi Nick, after importing a file into inkscape I can't figure out how to match up the existing text in the Logo I imported. How do you match the text to add a new word. The original files were made with Illustrator. I am not the maker of the original file so is there a way to find out what font they used?
i wish you would go a little more in depth as to why you do the things you do. Now you only say do this and do that, but if i know why i have to do a specific thing i would learn more from it. Besides that you are doing a really great job and i really appreciate the effort you put into this.
Hello Nick, great your Inkscape videos !!! , I'm a big consumer of free software. Tell me, Inkscape just for web graphics, is not it? , Inkscape still does not have what it takes to go to print (like Illustrator or Corel), am I right? .Thank you very much !!! Greetings from Argentina
could you please do a video where you design such a banner from scratch? You explained the steps for this one, but the hardest part is comming up with those shapes in your head...
Great video as always. Have you tried to mess around with the svg file format and try to create any effects which cannot be created through the Inkscape GUI? SVG is a XML based text format (if you didn't already know)
Thank you for the great job in every single video, I was wondering, how do I apply the font to inkscape? is it just downloading it an that`s it? I am new at this, please help me out.
Great videos. Hey, one question. I've never seen you actually explain a bit slower what exactly is happening to these shapes when you "break apart" "difference" "union" and so on... like how is union different than group together or why does difference work sometimes when I use it but does nothing other times.... I guess I'm asking for a video on all those path actions and maybe some further detail into what they actually are doing and how to make them do it so that instead of just copying your work we can use those tools confidently for our own creative projects. I haven't perused through all your videos to see if there is one on this topic and if so I'm sorry lol. I will however take a look to see. But if not that's a good idea for a new video. Thanks again for all your videos they are terrific.
Yeah either... This tutorial is broken in recent updates or something or he has something already that I don't have cause I can't get past the tabs which hold the stars
Thanks for the video dude ! :). Anyone has problem with the PNG EXPORTATION ? I can not see the logo in PNG with high resolution (btw exactly the same as I see on Inskape)
hey man I love your work you do great things and now I need your help on thing I want to download a photoshop can you please give a link when I download it please man
The only place I know of to download Photoshop is the Adobe website. I get the whole suite for $50 a month. It's fun to learn and become more efficient with different software and it's a tax write off. They'll give you a free trial if you just want to use it for a little while or for something specific.
Here I am in 2020, spending hours learning GIMP when I suddenly learn (from one of your videos) that I need vector images and I'm not going to get them in GIMP! Or Photoshop! (Maybe it's different by now?) So, this is my first Inkscape video after googling to find Inkscape is FREE like GIMP! Like the others, the musical intro perks me up for learning. Thank you! I'm off for the starting over with Inkscape tuts you offer!

Tried half a dozen times and didn't work. Can't get 'difference' to work at 8:49. Click on difference and nothing happens. Oh well...
I Figured it out
1- click the green tab and click ungroup
2- then select red circle and the outer green line (stroke) then go to path Difference
3- delete the green that is left
4-click on the blue and duplicate it and then select the red circle and go to path Difference

Thanks, I plan to work that into a tutorial shortly.

'Align and distribute' is in 'Object' menu, I guess. It is at the bottom of the list. Check out other menus one-by-one if it's not in 'Object' menu.

Nick, you're the man! Great tutorial as always! Thanks from good ol' Germany ;-)
Thanks Nick, you just helped me create an awesome logo for a friend. Hope you don't mind. I will keep learning from your channel. Cheers!!!
Hey mate, Nice work I love your channel. Kindly do a volley ball team logo in Inkscape! Thanks
You are amazing! To make a perfect star, try to use Spoke ratio:0,382. :D
Very creative
Thank you for your Great Work!!!
8:40 when i do that nothing happens
You switched to Windows from Ubuntu??
Yeah either... This tutorial is broken in recent updates or something or he has something already that I don't have cause I can't get past the tabs which hold the stars
What do you charge for logo's?
Thanks for the video dude ! :). Anyone has problem with the PNG EXPORTATION ? I can not see the logo in PNG with high resolution (btw exactly the same as I see on Inskape)
Actually this is what I see gyazo.com/372182b8cc9b339f4784d9ca74abc906. I ´ve been trying everything but it doesn´t work !! :(

I'm a beginner but I learnt a lot, thank you.
hey man I love your work you do great things and now I need your help on thing I want to download a photoshop can you please give a link when I download it please man
samuel madida nkambule That's illegal! And he's not even using Photoshop. The program is called Inkscape and it's free.
The only place I know of to download Photoshop is the Adobe website. I get the whole suite for $50 a month. It's fun to learn and become more efficient with different software and it's a tax write off. They'll give you a free trial if you just want to use it for a little while or for something specific.
thinx
I can follow you no problem, but I have no clue what all the Path options are even doing lol
Thanks for vidéo
Love your vids!
What would take a day to learn on my Lynda account taken me 40 min here. Thanks.
just verry interesting
thanks brother!
Great Tut! Thx : )
Well then a good vid Nick, thanks.
Absolute Legend!
Thank you! I'm off for the starting over with Inkscape tuts you offer!
beautiful.job.Great artits!From Brasil.God to.bless!

Great but you are too fast. Hard to follow up for beginners.
