Would you get a $6k learner's bike?
No. I would buy my first learner bike,a honda c90, put it in a dry environment for 20 years and use the proceeds to buy a Norden.
$6000 will be the death sentence for this bike in the US. Way too many learner bikes for a lot less.
Being a father of a boy who is getting his "learners licence" we have been looking at bikes. 2 year old bikes that are about 1,5K$/€ cheaper than a new one do not make sense in my mind as the have been ridden hard for about 15-20K km and only have one year left of warranty (three year warranty on all new bikes over here). So even if I dont drive my son to school in a Maybach I just might consider loosing 2k $/€ on one of these in a two year period.

But why does it cost 6000$ in, India husqvarna sells a 250 for ₹ 190,000 that is about 2500$. 🤔
I'll spend my money on the new Honda CRF300 Rally instead.
Forget the Norden, it's a fantasy, walk away, get on with your life don't destroy yourself....
And imagine if it doesn't live up to the hype...

I started my 'motorcycle career' on 125 15KM KTM Duke. Ah, good vibes, good times.
In the UK it's only 200£ more then the price set on the KTM Duke 125 from 2020.
Your comments on the Svartpilen 125 were way better than the bike. And the price ($6000) ? They drink way to much at Husqvarna.
If you’re on a learners licence (A1 in Europe) you’re limited to 15hp 125cc. And you don’t want a sports bike. And you’re a bit older with more budget. At that point is it an option to consider - I think yes.
Compared to similar bikes it’s expensive but not a million miles off other offerings from the more premium brands - ktm duke is similar, Honda cbr125 is 3.7k - admittedly you could get 2 benelli bn125s for the cost of one husky.
Having sat on both the husky definitely feels “more” bike than the benelli (although I the the bn 125 was pretty impressive for 2.2k.)

Luckily (well sort off) here in Australia our LAMS program (for learners) caps capacity at 660 cc ( with a power to weight of 150 kw per 1000 kilograms maximum). A bit like A2, although, for example, Triumph makes us the street triple 660 with around 40 kw instead of the A2 version being 35 kw. Same with the MT-07 as Yamaha make us a 655 cc version to comply (with reduced power to fit the criteria, it’s a little bit better, just not buy much. As we have this restriction for at least 3 years and 3 months. Apparently the changes have reduced fatalities by over 10%. 👍😎🇦🇺
$6k? Are they insane? It’s called, “entry level” for a reason. Nobody wants to keep an entry level bike for very long.
And the 200 Duke is $4k which is basically this bike but with different styling, halogen headlight, alloy rims and a wider cylinder bore.

a pre owned 401 is available under 4k and its a fantastic bike
There's a chance here the target consumer is not only a beginner biker! Here in illinois for bikes under 150cc there's no need for driver's license so people ride them around very much specially during the summer in Chicago. Tons of them around specially in downtown and other busy spots out numbering full-size motorcycles by tens of folds. All from 50-125cc. Most of them don't even think about getting a driver's license or a bigger bike cause this is what they want. Including 2 of my coworkers owning theirs for last few years as transportation to work. Gas, insurance, maintenance costs close to nothing. Less getting trapped in rush hours traffic. Ease of handle with just enough power for 25-45mph city speed limit. You're probably misleaded about the purpose of this bike by your high standard expectations. Which is not what this bike is aiming for on the market!

In the UK 17 year old's are stuck on a 125cc for 2 years. So that's a long time at that age may as well have something nice. Also damb a cute girl who skateboards and rides a motorcycle that's all my dreams come true.
I really hope Bajaj is able to read this message. If they are able to launch a 150cc instead of 125cc, among the 150cc segment bikes, this brand will explode the market. They don't have to make it obvious that it has a KTM engine, they should get innovative and launch a 150cc instead and price it 10k more if required.

The Norden 901 was an exciting concept and generated demand but it is so late to market that when it is eventually launched it will have competition in bikes like the CB1100X. In today's intensely competitive market that is a serious mistake.

I rented a Svartpilen 401 in Japan, that was already enough of a moped, great commuter though. But $6k for a 125, no way!

When they announced vitpilen and svartpilen lines. I decided to get A license for motorcycles. Especially the 701 vitpilen hit my eye. So fast forward today, after fixing old suzuki gs500e and costly summer with it. I have banked some cash to buy the vitpilen 701... boom... gone from website. Mad? Yes... are there secondhand vitpilens for sale? Not really. Sooo... i quess ill ride another season with old gs500e ( well after i have fixed it again due to components failure´s) But for that 125... blingy bike for 16 year olds... but price should be around 4k euros if they want to sell it. But that 701 thingy hits on my nerves... no official news from husqvarna just rumors that EOL. So maybe the yamaha MT-07 is the bike then.

I'm already giving up my Norden deposit, the excitement has passed and Husky should have hooked me 6 months after the concept showed up. But not any more, I'll take the money and sink it into my 701.

I know there’s the argument that the big twin would mean it’s nothing like its smaller siblings, but where the hell is the Vitpilen 901? Hmm, they can’t seem to produce an announced model in a reasonable timeframe, maybe a Vitpilen 901 will be good for the next century.
Man you should be a stand-up comedian, that bike is perfect for some younger people to keep them out of trouble. 15 horsepower I would not want to take that on the highway that's for sure. It would be nice if you owned a farm that bike would be perfect you to round up sheep or mending fences .😃

Hmm...no, I do not think my daughter will ride this. For a netto riding of max 1,5 years...I simply do not see this in her future. She will have to do with something a little bit more...economical. The Norden would be much more interesting, I consider this a marketing stunt for people who kindle their cockle stove with money. We do not do that here.

Beautiful? what? I must be missing something because to me it looks like gibberish. The overly busy steel frame and the engine with all the parts and then they slap a continuous body work on top of all that... nah... I would rather get the KTM and not this craptastic looking bike.
Aesthetics are subjective. Most find the whole Svartpilen range to be very pretty.
