Jamaica is not for the poor. Most of these houses will be used for air bnb. Owned by people who ALREADY have their house.

So why should Jamaica be for "the poor"? You expect pure "poor people" housing to be developed? House is a major investment. If you can't afford these cheap houses then you should probably be focused on improving your life and getting a better job with a better income. Jamaica is not for the poor, it's for everyone!

It is projected that phase 1 of this development may go on sale mid to last quarter of 2022 at which point applications will become open on HAJ's website.
There are people who looked forward for the one bedroom units. I think they just want to keep it upscaled. Appreciate your video and updates.

Hi, likely late 2021 to early 2022.
I heard about this development sometime in 2019 and have been following it ever since. The cost per unit (1bedroom) as advertised at the time was approximately 7mil. If they were to continue with this arrangement for argument sake, considering inflation and the prices of other units eg- Pines Royal, with a starting price of 18mil, then we will be looking at 9 - 10mil per one bedroom unit by the time they are near complete. Hence a 2 bedroom 1 bath unit price could be in the range of near 20mil or more. Clearly these developments are not even for the average middle income earners. Developers are just taking advantage of market needs and capitalising handsomely on it's revenues.
Honestly, I was heart broken when Kedescia mentioned the major change. I could even see the disappointment your face while you made the presentation. It just made me wonder even more If we have a government for the marginalized and average people.
I am really really disappointed because I refrained from seeking else where because of its location. I guess we just have to hit the drawing board again. It's really sad. 😔😔😔
Hi, thanks for watching! The goverment needs to focus on rolling out more affordable housing solutions or sell the land space with the necessary building guidelines then. Why are we hearing for instance NHT has millions to lend the goverment? If housing solutions were rolling out in real time they wouldn't have it to lend. Wow, for single applicants, your net would have to be 200000 maybe even more to get 13mil loan.

Good day ... I went to Housing Agency and ask about them not doing 1 bedrooms and they say no such thing .... they are not aware of this. Please explain. Thanks
Good day, this upon more than one contacts made was communicated as base on cost to build would be more feasible to start with 2 bedroom. There are several changes that will be made to initial details on this development as expected however lets all stay tune for the outcome of things as progress. Thanks for watching

Hi, no applications isn't been open for phase 1 of Shooters Hill. To date and as outlined in this video, construction hasn't yet started either. They are currently still inputting infastructures inplace. I will be keeping upto date to all progress so if you haven't already kindly turn on the notification bell for all notitications so that each time a new video is uploaded you will be notified.

Hi, None officially announced however it was indicated that a change in price is expected as indicated "prices are subject to change". So naturally expect it.

Why not sell the land then. Instead of putting up these expensive units. To think lower class people could own either a peice of land or even a one room. This system sucks....
@@sidonnamoore1992 Totally agree with you, but persons are not speaking up about this ongoing level of what I call Housing discrimination. What is the point of the Government bragging about how much you can get from NHT when the price is double what you can afford. Persons in the lower to middle income bracket must begin to speak up this has been going on for too long. A certain sector of the society is being relegated to potential homelessness. SMH
