Wish I could give this five thumbs up. If you are going to pour resin again you can get small silicone cups with a spout from Amazon. They easily conform to let you pour a very small stream of resin and once it has set up you can just pull out the leftover film of resin to clean up. Don’t buy the large ones (they are too big and floppy for this). Mine are about a half cup or so and easily hold the amount of resin you’ll want to mix at one time. They really make filling those little tiny areas in your mold easy. I loved this piece. I did this on a small cabinet but you have inspired me to try a bigger project. Hmmm. I think I’ll go look in my furniture stash but not until tomorrow.
Wow, thank you so much for such a great tip Svea - really appreciate it! And thank you for the "five thumbs up" - so glad you enjoyed the fable and the piece. Yes - wait till tomorrow to go digging around in the garage!! 🎃🍁
Very pretty! Great job. Definitley not a beginner's project. I will leave that to the furniture artist. That made the simple book case step up to a very classy statement piece. Upstate NY would be very proud.
Absolutely beautiful!! That took a lot of work and worth the price if you sold it. I think you should definitely keep it and hand it down through the years.
Wow!! You style up your works of art not only with cool physical decor but also with your beautiful descriptions of the making of the art as well as the background stories! Love them all. True story: worked for an architect whose office was a historic farmhouse. My desk was in what was the old kitchen with the dining room behind me. There was a door in the dining room leading down to the cellar. I was working alone in the house on a Saturday...beautiful, bright, sunshiny day. I felt someone come up behind me, turned around...no one there. I felt the presence again, dark and heavy, and this time, could almost feel the heaviness of hands on my shoulders. Well, this time, I got so scared, I grabbed my purse, ran out of the house, jumped into my car and got the heck away from there. Didnt turn off the computer or shut the door on my way out. My girlfriend and her husband came back with me the next day so I could close up. A few weeks later, I was reading the local newspaper when I came across an interview article with my boss, who was talking about how this house was haunted. We never had any conversation whatsoever about any experiences either of us had. True story!!!!! Happy Halloween
This piece makes me happy.....what also makes me happy is when an artist maker like you talk about why a beautiful book shelf like this would and should be priced appropriately at $485.00. So many think that because it's an "upcycle" "refinish" etc....prices should be so little because they can get something similar from a everything made in China store....or a garage sale.....I'll stop before I embarrass myself. Love your work!
I think you have created a family heirloom. That was a lot of work. Surely one of your girls would love to have it? Hmmm, maybe even all of them? Great job!🙂👍
You did a beautiful job, Andy. I wasn't sure I'd really like it. But I do. Can see it as a dusty rose/pink in a little girl's princess room. Love watching you create. Glad to see your family too. Thanks for sharing, Andy.
This has got to be the most ridiculous TH-cam video I have ever watched! The good Lord made your for comedy and to give folks a good laugh. Your family is a hoot...and what a blessing to have a husband that will play right along! Thanks for your light hearted fun and ridiculousness - we all need to lighten up after everything this country has been through. I'd definitely pay that for such a beautiful piece! You've got me wondering now if using epoxy is more cost efficient than clay? or maybe it's just easier to work with? I've been wanting to do a piece I have out in my own garage after watching Deb's Design Diary use clay on a mirror she did. Anyway, thanks again for the fun video!
😂🙏 Thanks so much!! It's true - I love to throw all my theatrical tendencies into these stories. Nothing makes me happier than to bring some fun, laughter to other folks! I too am wondering that about the resin - I'd really like to try it with the clay, although I think it looks messier? Not sure. Cheers! 😊🎃
I see people use clay, and I even bought some, but I always end up using the epoxy because I am afraid of the clay breaking if it gets bumped. If you have used clay please let me know if that would be an issue.
I love how this turned out! Next time you do you molds and want your flowers to curve around the edges, use air dry clay! You still put it on with wood glue but it’s flexible to lay over curves and stuff. And you can still paint over it with any paint! I use baking soda in my paint to get texture, but I will have to try the corn starch to see how that works.
This shelf is indeed enchanting and gorgeous, and also inspirational!!! 🤗 I have a several pieces of less than exciting (aka: boring) older pieces of still functional furniture that are made of more "inferior" lumber types: not to be judgemental, but one must accept what is as it is, at least occasionally. Anyhoo ... so these forlorn pieces have been crying out for some attention and paint; but just applying plain ordinary paint would also be boring, and why would I want to maintain boring when I can follow your lead and change boring to enchanting!?!?! Thank You for sharing your adventures in furniture restoration, and inspiring my creativity. And thank you too for sharing a glimpse of your family; it reminded me of the fun times we had together when our daughters were younger and still at home. ❤❤
Oh Lonna - thank you so much for sharing this! Yes, trying to soak up these times we have all together as a family...I know that they will be flying free very soon...sigh. I'm thrilled to be of some help with inspiration - I know that is often half the battle! (or more) Best of luck with your projects, and thanks for watching!
This made me smile you have a beautiful family , they all look like you , three mini me,s , and ho that book case , I need to try that , it turned out magical 😊
Your work on this piece has just melted my heart - it is incredible, sublime, and heartwarming, truly an inspiration for me........ I am eyeing every piece of furniture in my house for my own next adventure....... I can't thank you enough!
Hi there ... Just came across your channel ... Wow just wow ... I was Entranced enthralled enticed whatever the word ... Just magical ... Absolutely loved your work ... Sending much love from the UK xxx
Just lovely. I did this technique on a small side table using air dried clay in the molds and it turned into one of my most favorite pieces to date. Now I’m looking for the next opportunity to do it again.
Given this was a solid hard maple piece, my reaction to the bath wasn't too bad. If it had been a particle board or MBF with a veneer or laminate I may have swooned and fainted. The bookcase turned out beautiful. Adorable enough for a young girl, yet mature enough for a romantic lady. Lovely job Andy!
Thanks so much! Yes, this maple could take the water for sure, lol. Really appreciate your comment - that was for sure what I was trying for - something that could be lovely for a child but able to transition to a more grown up aesthetic. 😊🙏
How lovely, glad you priced it as it should be priced, and deserve, if you decide to sell it. It’s such a unique piece, it’d be hard to sell. Loved the family participating in this week’s episode, you’re all talented, or at least good sports. You pulled off the spooky theme. A+ !!
I have two small pieces that are hand me downs from my dear mother in law. I don’t have the same molds but really love the old Victorian look. Thank you so much. You make me smile.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You have such a talent for furniture recreations and storytelling it's hard for me to decide which one keeps me coming back for more. This bookcase turned out so beautiful.
$485 is undervalued IMO. You've created a work of art and, as you stated, similar pieces sell for $1,500. I was thinking closer to $800. It's a gorgeous piece!
Andy, (and family) I absolutely adored this piece. I can understand why as a family you're thinking of keeping it. Happy Easter holiday. I REALLY look forward to watching more furniture fables. I think what I like about watching your content is that you really show (especially for someone contemplating to doing this as a living) and have absolutely no idea about wood or veneers, or in fact anything else, that you do really show how to clean a piece, fix bits that have fallen off, or been chipped away, broken pieces, in general you explain clearly what to use and why and I thank you for that. Also, you explain how to price a piece. Thank you, Wendy (North Wales, UK)
Excellent. I appreciate the short film and enjoy your production more than any show on TV. Creative, educational, relaxing and fun. The girls and husband added a nice touch. Thanks. Can’t wait for the next installment of fables. BTW the bookshelf rocked.
Oh, I wonder how many Junk Demons I have lurking around my garage and shed. Beautiful piece, Andy. I hope the lady that sold you the bookcase gets to watch this transformation.
It was so nice to see your sweet family. I thought the little unassuming bookcase was adorable before you got your gifted hands on it, but WOWZA!!! Absolutely gorgeous.
Beautiful! Thank you ! So entertaining and fun! Love your piece! Going to buy those molds! Gorgeous!!! Appreciate all the work you put in your videos! I also have a hoarding furniture demon but I haven’t even started painting yet!
Wow! A new technique (to me) that could transform a basic piece of furniture into whatever characterization you want! From a beautiful carved and textured cherry tree motif to say a rocket launch pad, just depending on the molds! What a gem to add to the flipper’s bag of tricks ... or treats!
Neutral on neutral with texture and molded flowers... gorgeous! And you are so worth $50.hr girlfriend!!!... for every piece you do! This society has lost touch with creative talent... even modern architecture is boring in its bid for being cheap and utilitarian .... sheesh! You bring beauty & joy!! Thanks for taking us along for the fun n fables! 😉🧚👏👏👏 Ps TU 4 inspiring me to try all of it!
The bookcase turned out great!! I love it! My 2nd favorite piece! 1st is still the succulent plant table. I would keep it, but if you could get the 485 ( definitely worth that!)- that would be great Christmas $$$ and you could always make another for yourself. At any rate, it’s just beautiful
I think, no I NEED, I need that book shelf. It is enchanting, and has enchanted me.
Lol, thanks so much Susan!!

Wow, thank you Julie! 😊
You’re such an amazing lady with a beautiful family ! I enjoy your videos so much ! 🌹
Thank you so much!!
Absolutely beautiful!! That took a lot of work and worth the price if you sold it. I think you should definitely keep it and hand it down through the years.

A lovely one of a kind quality piece of functional artwork 😊 with a personality.

Wow, thanks for sharing your real ghost story - amazing!

LOL, thanks Lynn!! Truly appreciate that sentiment, and so glad the bookcase makes you happy. :)
I think you have created a family heirloom. That was a lot of work. Surely one of your girls would love to have it? Hmmm, maybe even all of them? Great job!🙂👍
Wow, thank you Holly! Yes, the girls were/are circling...we'll see! 😊🙏
What a beautiful glow-up!!!
Thanks Kathleen!
Andy you have once again done a great job love love love this bookcase
Hooray! Thanks so much!!
You did a beautiful job, Andy. I wasn't sure I'd really like it. But I do. Can see it as a dusty rose/pink in a little girl's princess room. Love watching you create. Glad to see your family too. Thanks for sharing, Andy.
I loved the result, but would have preferred to see it in Queen Anne color!
Thanks so much, Sarah! Yes, it was a struggle NOT to add a little pink...I think the overall look would be really nice in several colors! 😊
Thanks Alana - yes, a color in that range would be lovely!
This has got to be the most ridiculous TH-cam video I have ever watched! The good Lord made your for comedy and to give folks a good laugh. Good job again, can't wait to make my vines.
Thanks Jerri! Best of luck with your vines!

Doesn't the air dry clay stay pretty soft?
Enchanted… on the perfect day to be so!
Indeed! Thanks very much Cheryl!

Wow! A new technique (to me) that could transform a basic piece of furniture into whatever characterization you want! From a beautiful carved and textured cherry tree motif to say a rocket launch pad, just depending on the molds! What a gem to add to the flipper’s bag of tricks ... or treats!
Hooray, thanks so much!! Yes - really the sky's the limit...rockets included! Definitely a treat of a trick. 😂🎃
Excellent results!
Thank you!
Neutral on neutral with texture and molded flowers... gorgeous! And you are so worth $50.hr girlfriend!!!... for every piece you do! Spirits can attach themselves to furniture, like a wooden bed frame, if a person died in bed. So I’ve heard….👻 boo! Lovely piece! ❤️
Ooo, neat insight! Thanks Vina!
You are such a delight to watch…and stellar furniture renovations! Well done you. 🌹
Thank you so much, Nancy!
Hooray, thanks so much! Yes, that succulent table is still close to my heart. 😊
