If you wanted the most neutral system you could also say we are in the year 12025, since modern humans came to be roughly 12000 years ago with the shift from nomadic lifestyles to those with farming communities.
It really isnt that big a deal. BC and AD just arent as understood and BCE and CE. Odd hill to die on. Its easier for people to understand (especially when translated to non english speaking countries) compared to AD which is latin.
I find BCE/CE more obvious and less confusing, english being my 3rd language. Or we could just use negative numbers, it works fine too. Disappointed in your lack of open-mindedness on this one. Anyway, I wish a happy year 234 of the Republican Calendar to all of you. Bisou !
@@warmbrucuriosity The negative numbers would still correlate to BC/BCE and AD/CE though. Its based on the approximate birth of jesus, not muhammed, not lao tzu, not Sargon, not Einstein, not Warmbru. 😂
Thank you for this explanation and articulating it so well! BCE and the other one (I can never remember it) aren’t neutral they are just obscuring the lack of neutrality and are more confusing to remember.
@hellboy6216 I daresay I've opened a lot more books than you, Junior. And you are a self-appointed sensor when it comes to the Bible? Sounds like you're looking forward to an enjoyable time in the lake of fire. And oh, LMAO!
What's confusing me a good deal more in every day life is the months after August all having the wrong names.
For a long time I read BCE and CE as before christian era and christian era.
Yup, I was confused there where two terms for the same thing.
You’re gonna get it too….😁
I only use my age for counting years. Somehow quite handy for me 😂
BC and AD, for the win.
Agree totally.
BC and AD. Now you’re gonna get it….😹
How about 4,550,394,934.362 (4.5 billion years & change and 362 days) for all religiously and politically neutral time?

Surely it should be 13,800,000,025?

Is it controversial to say I would be fine changing our current year to 2777? It sounds more fun, lol

I am quite open minded but I don't like the sloppy thinking of BCE/CE. I like the idea of just using negative numbers.

Thank you! I agree 100% with this, BCE and CE are extremely stupid terms created for extremely stupid reasons.
Is this a conservative channel?
BCE and CE smell like woke, so we must avoid?
This is absolutely NOT a conservative, liberal, communist, fascist, or religious, channel.
A lot of academic stuff is silly. Heliocentricity, evolution, disease theory....
I can't tell if this is sarcastic or not lmao
If it isn't, please open a book, it'll do you good. (the bible doesn't count ofc)
