He got back and showed us this weird concoction of stuff. In it was the following: -3 pairs of 2 sausage patties with an uncooked piece of cheese in between the patties, with some diced onions on top. -2 strips of bacon. that's it. My friend didn't check the bag when he left McDonald's and I legit looked at the thing, and back at him and asked, "what in the world is this?" All of us just started laughing in confusion that night.

Interesting fact about those photos they have for food at these restaurants. They are literal pieces of art, it is made to look as good as possible by a food artist, using the same ingredients that are put on it or a close alternative, like paints for better color. They aren't made to be eaten, and are more to show what is on the sandwich in an appealing way rather than to show what it is supposed to look like, so a lot of the ingredients a shifted around to be visible from one side, making it look thicker than it would be normally. I believe any misinterpretation as to the size isn't intentional, originally at least. It probably became intended, but not to start with, like everything is.
Extra thoughts, it is like a visual representation of the ingredients list, so customers can take one look and know exactly what they will get in the burger. It's just that people take it more literally than originally intended, and corporate took advantage of that. Just my thoughts, anyway. I believe most of these things at least start out with honest reasoning, they just get corrupted over time for a higher up interest.
I would maybe try the matcha bean cake. I love matcha based items but I'm not a fan of beans. I had a red bean paste dessert with sesame seeds. I forgot the name of it but it was good.

The cake brought back some memories of McDonald's birthday parties from my childhood. I actually asked my mom to confirm that McDonald's provided the cake and she said that they did. So I've tried the cake but have no memory of how it tasted back in the late 90s. Also, my theory on why McDonald's still sells the birthday cake for so cheap even though it doesn't sell well is that it's a loss leader. Kind of like Costco's rotisserie chicken.

I once had a birthday party at my local McD's when I was seven. I remember being bad at hide-and-seek then, and I remember getting my first gaming system (a red Game Boy Pocket along with Game & Watch Gallery), but I don't remember there being a cake. If there was one, I must have blocked it from my memory.
I'd love to see a video covering smaller fast food joints, both the successes and the failures. If you've ever been to Newfoundland, in Canada then you'll know that Mary Brown's is a local favorite! It's even starting to branch out into the states a little apparently. It's a place I HIGHLY recommend, and their chicken and taters are often considered good enough to rival KFC. Speaking of KFC, there was a moment in the 2010s where EVERY KFC restaurant in the province was shut down to make way for a "home-cooked meal" restaurant chain called Oppy's Diner. This was due to a change of franchise ownership. Needless to say her attempt at a rather extreme and abrupt rebrand didn't go over well. The main complaint was that all of the restaurants were terribly disorganized; some employees in the Corner Brook location didn't even get an advanced notice when their place of work shut down due to landlord disputes.
Howdy, Strider! I am so thankful that I never had the really disappointing sounding Ronald Mcdonald Cake [you'd think that given that Ronald's the mascot they'd actually put effort, but this is Mcdonald's], instead I had different delicious cakes for each birthday. One year I got a birthday cake made from COTTON CANDY ICE CREAM and it was the GOAT. On a different note, I have been researching fast food merch on Worthpoint and I've recently found some really cool Jack In The Box stuff, such as a poster from 1978 that goes into company history, Sooper Scooper magazines with pictures of costumes, advertising folders one of which being a parody of Time Magazine, and other interesting stuff. Worthpoint is pretty cool IMO.

We also have a combined flavour, which is half and half between vanilla and dulce de leche.
The flavour is very good !
It appears the "reoccurring theme that makes Phantomstrider feel repulsed" here is...
Mean Greens.
Also hearing Dennis speak was like a flashbang after not hearing it in ages. Happy to see him again :3
Tbh you always have to keep your expectations low when it comes to McDonald’s food
whats with the matcha hate??
6:04 A wild Pup has appeared!
Hmm. It may not look that good, but I'm a repeat buyer of Häagen-Dazs' matcha green tea ice cream. I might like it.
Maybe someday McD's will venture into such exotic ice cream flavors as... strawberry. Or maybe they'll just make it a dip option, like with chocolate.
11:55 as an Australian I do remember the Shrek pasta my Brother used to get it when they were on the menu
Mickey D fries Rule and they are Awesome
9:36 I can vouch for that translation.
2:44 BAMBOO TERRACE FROM SPYRO 3??????????? 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 Thanks for giving Spyro music some love!!!!
-a very excited Spyro fangirl
The fact that you got loads of people to voice their opinions on this video is great. I actually wanted to try some of these options.
It's always a good day when Strider uploads a fast food video 😁!
Thank you for starting out this video with a soft Howdy and keeping such a nice soft tone through the video. Every top 10 video always seems to start off loud with a bell chime like a WatchMojo ripp (honostly tensed up before the video started).
Perfect combo new strider food vid + breakfast nice. Also friendly reminder feel free to take breaks and not work too hard strider, luv ur vids❤.
Matche Red Bean Layer Cake looks delicious. I love layer cakes and matcha everything. Also, I really grew foundly of spam in my really short stay on Okinawa - spam & goya are the best combination ever.
A good majority of these look really good actually
Yea
Howdy, Strider! Love hearing about food from you!
2:52 Ugh, Ive had matcha flavored things before. Im not a green tea fan, so they tasted awful. Combines with red beans, though, I expect it to taste worse.
13:36 Oooh, these look so good! Kinda like Totinos Pizza rolls, but better!
I love these fast food restaurants!
I'm rooting for you to get 1,000,000 subscribers! I love your channel!
8:50 We in Finland also had these for a little while and I personally loved them. Luckily some small burger joints have them in here.
I have not watched strider in a long time, he’s pretty much one of the few good people on TH-cam, he has small following and makes videos that normally wouldn’t do well with a wider audience, but he makes them anyway , just the positivity from this channel just takes me back
I managed to go through my whole childhood without ever tasting the McDonald's cake. Glad to know I didn't miss anything.
The Panzerotti look pretty good, while the Cheesy Eggdesal looks like it could be good if you added breakfast meat to it.
McDonald’s certainly loves insane food ideas for fast food standards.
It's a good day when Josh uploads every once in a while. Keep up the good work, bud!
This is one of those comfy feel-good channels i can always come back to no matter how long its been, thanks for doin what you do man
I'd love to see a video covering smaller fast food joints, both the successes and the failures.
More weirdest McDonald's Items?! Wow! How many more bizarre McDonald's Items can there be? Well I'm definitely curious about it especially when Phantomstrider described it.😮😁🍔🍟
My favorite localised mcdonalds item is from poland, the chikker. It really isn't anything special, it's a bun with a oval shaped chicken piece and an either pepper or mustatd based sauce. But oddly, it tastes really good to me for some reason. I hope it makes it's way through the border here to czech silesia one day.
I'll be honest when I worked at McDonald's, I struggled with the swirl and decided to make the soft serve like DQ does (stacks in a cone)
