WALL E was probably one of the most human, non-human 'romance' movies I ever grew up with. This scene although it doesn't exactly fit with the rest of the movie, shows more humanity in these robots than any other human ever.
I like that this version has two things the final cut doesn't: 1. EVE looking embarrassed about the accidental kiss (something we never see in the real one). 2. That hilarious look she gives him when he holds out his hand.
But we never get that incredible dancing scene around the spaceship, never get to hear the amazing music, never see the human love life of the 2 that knew wall-e, and, most importantly, we’d never get the burn-e spin-off!

I agree, the movie version is far better at showing her growing feelings for Wall-E. I also like how in the actual movie, she learns about holding hands herself when she sees Hello Dolly in her memories, instead of seeing Wall-E do it first like in this scene. It makes the moment at the end of the movie where she holds his hand feel much more genuine.

This scene is trite, unpleasant, and squanders a lot of the magic from the famous "dancing" scene. But we should give Andrew Stanton and Pixar a lot of credit for coming to the same conclusion, and recutting the film into the far superior canon version. It's just too bad they couldn't find a way to use Eve's expression from 1:06.

Keegan Firecloak eyes are one of the most expressive parts of the entire body, it's no wonder they chose to give eve so much room for eyes on her face when they were coming up with her design for the movie
I think that this scene on the most part was not too bad, however due to it not making it past the final cut the animation is jagged and the general body language is a little jagged too, but the scene we got was much more beautiful and better, but anyone can admit that EVE’s facial expressions during this were on point, and its a shame that some didn’t make it to the final cut
I think Wall E made an expression similar to 1:06 in the space pod scene that replaced this one. But it was only shown for like a millisecond, right after the pod spun and Wall E landed back down look closely at his expression

On one hand I’m glad the way the movie was without this Scene and on the other hand I wish they kept this scene in the movie Btw this movie is probably my favorite Pixar movie I watched the crap out of it as a kid
Probably just a prequel in two perspectives: Wall-E on his duty when humanity still living in the collapsing Earth, and EVA being build too many years later with the other copies of his model meanwhile the movie shows how the "Restoration Project" was done (and the Captain Bot being part of it would be a nice plus)
It looks like what they would have done instead of the escape pod scene, which was much more powerful than this one by far. The "space dance" was one of the most memorable moments of the film. Gotta say though, I loved EVE's awkward expressions when she was about to shoot WALL-E down. Also interesting to see this footage in different stages of completion.

The accidental kiss was precious but I feel like they left this out cause not only would it make the movie longer but also because it kinda made Eva look like she only wanted the plant even after that adorable kiss she seemed to rush off and only got excited when seeing he had the plant while poor Walle wanted her affection

I agree. I'd say keep "Define Dancing," and just cut out the kiss and plant reveal parts of this scene. As long as I'd get to see the rest I'm good. Like, hec, they included the rogue FIX-IT robot in this scene. That's somethin'.

I love how they go to the extent of body language when showing their emotion, not just context or by script, talking. Such a gorgeous movie that's has always been a part of my childhood.

The accidental kiss was precious but I feel like they left this out cause not only would it make the movie longer but also because it kinda made Eva look like she only wanted the plant even after that adorable kiss she seemed to rush off and only got excited when seeing he had the plant while poor Walle wanted her affection

as cute as it seems, this scene had emotions fly everywhere and felt too fast paced meanwhile in the movie it captured their emotions so beautifully and flowed so much better 💖 either way this scene was adorable!
