Collecting Canna, Sunflower and Parsley seeds

Seed collection starts as early as July from the early flowering plants and goes right to the end of the gardening season. Today I am collecting Canna, Sunflower and Parsley seeds.

I never consider I've successfully 'grown' a plant until I have collected my own seed and got those all the way to producing seed. And being a big old cheapskate the idea that plants make 'free' plants is a joy.

Oh same here, and besides the money you save, it is the whole idea of " made this" I also love. Repetition in the garden is also super important so this is the way to get it more or less free. From 1 miscathus grass I now have 20 of them, same with all of my bamboos. Just love free plants 😄
