I LOVE the videos that don´t start with someone saying "What´s up guys..."...just the guy working quietly without overwhelming with useless explanations, just showing the technique. And without boring his audience. You´re great dude, thanks for this.
Dude! That first sheath turned out sweet. Only advice I would give is to semi - compress the mold before installing the hinge. That way there will be more even pressure front to rear. Nice job; building mine tomorrow. ..
I remember when every DIY video on TH-cam was like this. Now everyone's ruining their videos trying to be fancy about it. I appreciate you and your work! great video!
Thank you for doing this diy. I am a beginner at this thing called kydex and I learned an inexpensive way to make a simple press that can do a lot of different sizes and styles. Ignore the anal retentive peeps who nit-pik and base that on semantics. You did a great job and I thank you. You helped me learn and grow in confidence that I can do this and do it without going tail over tea-kettle in debt. Keep up the good diys my friend....
Nice work, just a idea for you... try making a belt loop and riviting that on your knive holders. I guess you could make one piece versions. Good luck with your makers skills!.
I have not long learned how to make knifes and the numbers of them are building up. There are some crying out for a sheath. Thanks to you problem solved. Thanks.
Ok you tube! dont get me wrong I love all the endless audio commentary.........but ..... For the love of God people this is how you make an amazing how to video! Absolutely awesome that sheath came out phenomenal. I'm literally going to go buy the stuff tomorrow to do it myself I love the way that sheath turned out that was flawlessly made both video and sheath. Holy crap well done bro!
The trend in knives seems to be going to the design you have there or the general look. I personally don't care for it but I am sure it has some kind of use. The press id good however. I gotta make one of those
Nice video I like it a lot my only recommendation would be use a heat gun or blow dryer to heat the foam it helps give a more defined appearance especially with firearms
I’m going to make my own Kydex press using some of these methods but the only thing I,m going to do is press the whole thing down just a bit when I install the hinge just so I get a better snug press when I use it & I,m not going for the grommet look I don’t need them so I’m using black rivets instead . I want my sheaths for my Tomahawk , Bowie , & my Skinner knife to fit on a wide belt so I can interchange them if need be . I don’t need them to click into the sheaths but just to be snug enuff to not fall out & I think I,m going to use a Dremel to cut all the excess Kydex off as well as doing a better part of the sanding .
Awesome,Kydex looks so easy...maybe I should save myself some money and make one of these presses and make my own sheaths...I recently bought a Bradford Guardian 3 and a Bradford Guardian 4,while the sheaths are functional,I want to replace them with kydex sheaths..buying a kydex sheath for these knives from Bradford with a Tec lock included will cost me around $100..for $100 I could make them myself and then have enough materials left over to make sheaths for other knives, guns, ferro rods, multitools, flashlights, etc
Funny comment, but, to be honest, all three were used to make the actual sheath and not the press itself - like the title says. Anyway, loved the video, thank you.
Still cannot understand people's 30 second intros, makes no sense to me. Some channels I just unsubbed because I couldn't deal with it anymore. One guy had a 42 second intro everytime even if it was just a 3 minute channel update. So yes I obviously agree with you.
I love this video its informative and silent the best video on TH-cam ever now if we can just get TH-cam to be silent about their opinions life would be perfect at least online
No narcissist talking and explaining their lives struggles before the real subject of the video. Well done and thanks. I’m just going too use Chicago screws and leave long eyelets cutouts. The eyelets dices are expensive and not good at all if I go the cheap way. I only need it for one knife, a Ontario Ranger RD6, somehow difficult too find sheath for it.
That is a badass blade.....good video my friend makes all my kydex holster for my pistols...gonna have him make me some for my fixed blades after watching this lol
I'm telling at him through the phone because you show us a $3 clamp for the project and don't even use it until later after all the hard work is done. Lol nice vid, bro.
I LOVE the videos that don´t start with someone saying "What´s up guys..."...just the guy working quietly without overwhelming with useless explanations, just showing the technique. And without boring his audience. You´re great dude, thanks for this.
Jesus christ I couldnt agree more playa.. Just shut up and get busy maybe some ambient music
At one time I would agree.. but I like throwing in the headphones and just listening sometimes, so explaining verbally does wonders
they all want to be movie stars. You tube has granted their wishes ! DUH, WHATS UP GUYS ?
Man you hit it on the nose!! Just plain showing us what he is doing without OBNOXIOUS background music and incessant babbling!!!!
I agree no BS. Guy shows how much each thing cost and goes straight to work without any aggravating music.
Dude! That first sheath turned out sweet. Only advice I would give is to semi - compress the mold before installing the hinge. That way there will be more even pressure front to rear. Nice job; building mine tomorrow. ..
3:50 No knife, no bandaid...
3:55 Knife + fresh Bandaid.
Coincidence?
Thanks for the video.
hotel: trivago
No belt clip....
How would attach to belt? It looks awesome though 👍🏽👍🏽
I remember when every DIY video on TH-cam was like this. Now everyone's ruining their videos trying to be fancy about it. I appreciate you and your work! great video!
Honestly, this is one of the best videos about kydex on here. Zero talking, the editing was great, and the steps are easy to follow.
good pacing, editing. no rambling. Nice finished product. what's there not to like?
As I've never really done anything like this before, I really appreciate your feedback! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Carlos Rosa exactly! very well done video, earned a subscriber.

Love the ambience of the radio coming in and out

Clamp all together then screw hinge on, so you get pressure even at the back!
the fact you have The Black Keys on in the background is enough of a win for me here.. the rest was all a bonus!
Toying around with the idea of pressing holsters for some of my tools and things I normally carry in my bags for carpentry
brilliant idea with that foam mat. i almost paid 30$ for special kydex molding thermal foam. and here you got cheaper solution. thank you very much
Love how you can easily make it larger for bigger knives will definitely be using this at some point
Very good video, like the informative gestures rather than mindless talking. You make it seem so easy!
Well done. First video I have ever been able to watch that had no one talking. I'm doing this tomorrow. Thanks.
Great video, thumbs up for Beck playing in the background. 5:12
Saw this linked off of FB. Will be making one today. Great simple how to on both the tool and process.
Glad I could help! How'd it go?
Building a kydex press and your video came up first when I searched. I can see why, excellent video, just what I needed!
I went to your channel to see how to make knives now it appears we're both here to see how to make a sheath 😂
I wish some of my friends could take this guy's advise and just finally be quiet.
@@BOSS_DOG I wasn't referring to the music.
I absolutely love that knife design! I would EDC that. Lately I've been carrying the Bastinelli BB Drago 2" fixed blade
Right on man! Bastinelli makes some badass tools for self defense! I love his videos of him hacking up that dummy of his 😂
I laughed out loud when I saw you recycle the feet 🤣
Mad skills, bro. Great design on the end result. Stay sharp!
I love the commentary simple and to the point subscribed
A great video that said it all without any blah blah blah blah. Thanks!
By far the simp;est press I have seen. And do neat. Great idea on the foam.
best no bullshit diy video on this ever. Quick/simple/good editing! Thank you sir
I appreciate the feedback! Thank you!
Impressive, very impressive. I am thinking about getting into this as a side hustle.
Nice work, just a idea for you... try making a belt loop and riviting that on your knive holders. I guess you could make one piece versions. Good luck with your makers skills!.
awesome press! I might have to peel up a few mats from the basement and give this a go myself!
Loved your presentation ❤
You are a gifted smith. Just great!
No words. Just wisdom
Good video. Short and straight to the point with no extra B.S.👍
I have not long learned how to make knifes and the numbers of them are building up. There are some crying out for a sheath. Thanks to you problem solved. Thanks.
Anybody complaining about the price , fold up a beach towel and stand on it. Works perfectly
Safety Sandals!
Liked the video. Cheap and effective it looks like.
I was like $5 for wood? 😮
Then i saw this was from 7 years ago. 😂
Great video. Thank you.
unbelievable it is that simple thanks for showing
That snap at the end is so satisfying
I agree! Definitely a large part of the appeal of a kydex sheath.
Ok you tube! dont get me wrong I love all the endless audio commentary.........but .....

Holy crap well done bro!
One of the best Videos on TH-cam
Great video. Concise, to the point and informative at the same time. Thank you.
I love the kidex press that is badd a** idea very simple on a budget that's great turned out awesome
Well done. Impressive first time. Congratulations
I'm digging your music selection.
Thanks for the tip!
I like it. Always wanted to make one myself but never tried it, I’m going to now. Thanks.
GL man!
Excellent video, well done on the finished product.
Fantastic informative video sir thanks for sharing 👍👍👍👍👍
Not bad for less than 20 $ nice sheath and great looking blade
NICE!!! Thanks for this vid! Everything from materials, low cost & results. (And not a long vid!) Heading to the store(s) now to build one.....
At Home Hack My pleasure! Good luck!

Very clever. And effective. Plus, economical. Great.
Thanks for the vid man there are so many awesome knives out there with crappy sheaths that ruin the EDC of it. Kydex is the best option thanks again
I may have to do this. I have everything except the hinges. All left over from other projects. Thank you for sharing.
Nice video even the built was described I like this little knife
Yep, building one this weekend.
Nice!! I have made some knife sheaths and holsters in the past but I don't have a press. Your encouraging me!! Nice job.
Excellent work and beautiful knife!
Great job!! Real quality too. I believe you will do well making Holsters, magazine holsters too!!
Está de parabéns o canal, obrigado pelos ensinamentos 🙏🏾👏🏾🔥
Awesome man. Perfect video. No BS getting it done
Great, thanks for the vídeo.
I'm watching from Brazil.
Obrigado!
Saw band: 300$
Sander: 250$
Mini oven: 150$
A+ presentation though. No stupid intro, no rambling, no nonsense. Great video.

K Digiacomo just skip with a double tap
I love this video its informative and silent the best video on TH-cam ever now if we can just get TH-cam to be silent about their opinions life would be perfect at least online
lol a mini oven is 15$ from a thrift store. proper idiot.
Nicely done.
Good work, it forms the Kydex very well!
I was starting to think you didn't own power tools. Great vid brah
good job... I am going to try this for myself for sure.
Hello! Can you tell us which is the size of the wood plank and the cutting dimensions? Amazing video btw!
Nice one!! Good job!
Thumbs up, for the sheath, and Spoon
Perfect. Serene. Badass.
Great video, short and to the point
Impressively simple! Thanks for the great video.
Awesome video. I would like to see how to form integrated belt clip ... thanks !
No narcissist talking and explaining their lives struggles before the real subject of the video. Well done and thanks. I’m just going too use Chicago screws and leave long eyelets cutouts. How much did the bandage cost?
Free
😆😂😋
LOL!
LaurenceOfNYC or the burn marks on his wrist?
Shawn Jarman not everyone can be as flawless as you princesses.
Very nice and informative video!!!
no bs filler, pure content, good pace, I like it, nice job! You have a link by chance for that pin press?
It's an arbor press that I added a flaring die to. Found it on craigslist.
www.harborfreight.com/1-ton-arbor-press-3552.html
very good informative video without a word. lol. thanks!
Well done! I enjoyed the reference vids as well, you did a great job demonstrating simple materials!
You rock wish I had found DIY kydex sooner
Glad I could help!
Great project. I dig your taste in music!
I'm telling at him through the phone because you show us a $3 clamp for the project and don't even use it until later after all the hard work is done. Lol nice vid, bro.
Cool! I needed 250 of them by 8 am tomorrow.
That's an amazing price for that big ass board. Even raw 2x4 would be more expensive.
"After watching video makes jig and kydexes EVERYTHING!" All kidding aside well done. Going to make one myself. :)
I don't know why but I immediately imagined a Kydex'd cat. Haha good luck on yours brother!
Don't forget the painters tape on the cat before putting it in the press. Makes it VERY hard to get the kydex off.
The song playing from 4:24 - 4:48 is World Of Illusion by Pretty Lights.
Well done! Great video
excellent format!
Nice job! Great video! 👍🏻
I’m doing this.
I have some ideas for unconventional items leaving me little option other than doing it myself.
Good luck man! Let me know how it goes!
Thanks for making this! To the point and informative. Great video 👌
Great video! Thanks for sharing your expertise
