Liberia pre 1980 was a special place. Folks say it was clean and orderly. The coup and the 2 wars have devastated it and it will take more involvement from the Diaspora to help it recover.
Leaders and other folks throughout Africa would frequently visit Liberia as a vacation destination and it was one the prominent leading countries of Africa(with Ethiopia).
There's a long history one can dig into with Liberia as the guest in this video began to get into.(Liberia is 100 years older than most African countries!)

One love my brothers and sisters, there are no other roads leading to where we want to go.
One Africa, one unity and peace. I plead with all the nations of the continent to put aside the differences and rally around Ethiopia for the unification of our peoples. If we do not understand the importance of this resistance then we have to repeat the suffering of the past. Let us unite because the enemy cannot defeat us if we unite.
Wake up brothers and sisters our judgment and future is in our hands,we must return to serving our Gods and protect our children for the future of our race.
    One Africa.
    No more devision.
No more foreigners on our continent.
Bring home the children taken away by slavery.
Let us sing we have overcome the temptations of evil and give our God thanks.
    AFTICA UNITE.

Doesn't make sense to me either. Most of these vloggers are just grandstanding. Always talking about coming to create jobs in Africa with the small change in their pockets. How is that possible?. Many AA in Nigeria are on paid employment either as Sport coaches, construction engineers and even Radio DJs. Nothing wrong with coming to Africa to pick a job if you can compete with the locals. Besides if you live like the locals, your salary will be enough to sustain you.

..... Liberia is Unique in that it's doing Catch up,... after several civil uprising.
For these Reasons it attracting Not only investors but Professionals into jobs because Local indeginous professionals cannot fill the strategic Vacancies...
.....I take note that Liberia and Sierra Leone were " beneficiary" of Returning AA Diasporans, since abolishment of Slavery and massive US Economic Development Aid through Decades.

So glad to hear that Liberia do not subscribe to mortgage. Mortgage actually means 'death pledge'. Why? Because you have this debt around your neck for near quarter of your life. To make matters worse, it is a con where the banks actually make a bucket out of the mortgagee by trebling or even quadrupelling the debt by hiking up the interest over the long period. No-one on the continet should subscribe to this wicked institution. If you renegade on your payments just once, then the house is immediately taken away from you. Well done Liberia!

✌🏾 sister H. Clarke. For your information on Liberia, that nation had a little more than just a single president of west Indian heritage. More accurately we produced 2 presidents of original west Indian root. They were the Barclays(Arthur, and his nephew Edwin). The elder served during WWI and his nephew served during WW2. Besides the presidency we also can boast of other 19th and 20th century west Indian intellectual members of our society in our history. Check and you'll find out that Liberia was where the great Marcus Garvey intended to settle even before returning to Jamaica but,the imperial criminals sabotaged his dreams. I'd leave you to do your own digging. I am letting you know because I am a son of the soil who knows his history enough. You see,a man must know where he comes from to know where wants to go otherwise, you'll be lost. Our nation's founding was never restricted to only free American slaves but to all negro men of color who chose to assimilate with their aboriginal roots. That is why since 1847 we have not amended the part of our constitution which reserves Citizenship exclusively to Negroes, and I pray we keep it that way. Yet Mzungus are frantically using money to influence the people to change that. ✊🏿

The same thing that happened to all the former slave plantation owners and their descendants, they blended in with normal society and changed their ways.
