Thank you for only using what came in the kit and for not doing a 20 minute intro on when you bought the car, how much you paid for it and what it means to you. Great video my dude 👍🏻
Have used it for 14 months. So far so good.
Excellent. Thank you so much for the update. This product has promise for sure
I used this kit $16.80 ‐ Wal Mart, on my 2015 Tacoma last night. I was very happy with the results. I used my own 2000 grit and spent a lot of time to really make sure I got all the surface grime and have a nice uniform surface for finishing with the kit's 3000 grit pads. My kit only had 6 "Oxidization" (not a word) wipes, and it seemed to not be a problem.
This is excellent but not life warranty. Got 2 years out of it on my 17 year old Yaris but is just starting to fade again. Still brilliant product and will simply just use again 😊
Thank you for the real world update. Hopefully people considering purchasing will read these comments and get an idea on longevity. I read the fine print regarding the warranty and it looks like they will just ship you a new kit if the customer is unhappy
honestly, for $15 every 2 years for an old car > $500+ for new headlights.
What conditions did you have? Was it outside all the time? I would have expected longer results.
@@chriscomfort1378 yes outside all the time. Plus I probably could have prepped them better and sanded for longer. I would definitely be more methodical if I were using it again
@@georgina_gsmdont sand them too long I left scratch marks cos the sand paper broke down lol
I bought this for $14 USD on Amazon this week and am about to use it on my parents Tacoma. Hoping for great results! 👍
Let me know how it works. Am about to try on my 2017 maxima on Monday.
@@TriniBoy1984 It removes oxide by about 95% The 2014 Tacoma headlights are looking much better now but I got better results on my daughter’s Fusion and today on my ‘17 Golf. Idk if it has to do with the quality of the plastic or what. This is the 3rd time using this product. Waiting to see how long it lasts or if they fade again. I haven’t tried this on Glass like on a Volvo 240.
@mciti2594 Thanks for the feedback. I bought the product like 2 weeks ago and just been so busy in which is why I was not able to try it. But on Monday, I am going out at 4 am. in the morning ( dark out ) starting the process. I will let you know how it came out.
Thanks for the instructions very helpful. Used a few days ago, didn't realize that there are actually light bulbs in there! LOL. Did a wonderful job, not like new, but certainly much better than it was. Certainly beats buying new headlights. Thanks!
Thanks so much! I was worried about the cloudiness after Step 2 and this answered my question! 🙂👍
The Car Detailing Channel, Was In The Process Of Purchasing This Product But Decided To View Your Channel First. So Happy I Did!! .. Now Will Go Ahead And Purchase This Amazing Product That Is So Very Easy To Use Also!! .. Thank You For Providing Such An Excellent Video!! .. God Bless You Always, CC ❤❤❤
Good stuff I bought it for 15 on Amazon did the job made my lights look like new
Great review! A big advantage of this kit, for me anyway, is that it doesn't require any power tools.
Would heat be a problem when doing this? Would it be ok to do this outside in summer, or would a garage be preferable?
I did it in the garage, let it sit for an hour when I was done to let it get dry to the touch, then parked outside.
the fact I don't need a drill make this product even more impressive.
just ordered this kit, thanks for the video👍
REALLY WELL DONE-WILL DO!!!!!!Thanks
Nice job brother... 😮🎉
Very informative, thank you for sharing!🔥🙌🏻
Thanks! It really helped me out
Wow the only guy I saw use a blower and had the common sense to open the hood. It has to be dry.
I spent many years working in a shop and was told to work smarter not harder 😅
Is this a good kit to use for removing swirls and scratches instead of oxidation?
Great video, Thank you will head to Canadian Tire for a set now!
So what other materials/techniques would you combine with this kit to improve the results? I just received the kit and plan on using it shortly.
I've always wondered if there is or if its worth using some sort of clear coat/uv spray when done with this job to prolong the results. Have you had any luck with such products or methods?
You do not need to add anything to the kit. Use this yesterday on my 2005 Mercury Sable, headlights now look brand new. Follow the instructions exactly and you will not be disappointed !
Just use a torch next time, you’ll be done in 5 seconds. 👍
I liked the product. But is face or eye protection necessary? Are we talking like glasses and covid mask? Just asking.
Face and eye protection not necessary. But the gloves in the kit are !
The kits now have only 3 Oxidation Remover packets for each headlight instead of 4.
I wonder why they changed that. While using this kit, I felt like I wasn’t getting any more benefit after using the second removal wipe so maybe they’ve gotten similar feedback. Thanks for letting us know
My guess, maybe eliminate what was really not needed in the first place for money saving at their corporate level. It's all about value of the product still while balancing economic issues.@@TheCarDetailingChannel
i have 8 of the step 1 oxidation remover packets.
Wierd.
My box was sealed too, so who knows.
Good luck with the process.@@orangemoonglows2692
Bought mine a couple of weeks ago and it came with 8. The end result is fantastic. We'll see how long it lasts.
It's not permanent 5 months started to oxidize needs to be retreated!😢
Worked great except it ruined my paint around my lights. Video said not to worry if it gets on the paint and just wipe off with a dry towel. Well that didnt stop it from ruining the paint. I wish I would have used tape for the areas around the lights. Is there anything to use to get rid of the damage?
You need to do how to change the headlights in a Santa Fey. Cause they made it really sucks for the driver side.
I appreciate the video. I followed all the instructions but my headlights came out really streaky, it might look worse than it was lol I might just have to get it professionally done.
Not to assume, but rather a confident guess, the headlight wasn't dry enough before the coating, or too much pressure was used in the coating step. It may be worth it for you to try again - you'll find it's expensive to have this done professionally, or worst case, replace the housing all together. I bet it will be well worth it to do it again. Or get an experienced buddy to do it :)
No tools required
I can do the same thing around 15 bucks
That's how much this kit costs LMAO
I don't know why they say permanent when it clearly isn't. They only give their ceramic paint coating 3-5 years, so how can the head light coating be for ever. I got a year and a half. There isn't any head light restoration kit that will last the cars life.
I bought it I did exactly what they say to do and after 6 months it goes back to were you started it doesn't do what they it does it's a cover up looks good for a couple months after that you'll see the same yellow stain
>"its less than half an hour to do this"
>waits an hour for it to dry
Amazing product, however, not permanent. It will last based on the elements. Be careful with saying "permanent " the product doesn't even market it that way..
Hey, I'm watching this video for my O 7 Hyundai Santa Fey.😂😂 You know what they don't tell you replacing the headlights on the driver's side, oops. Batteries in the way.
Seems like a ton of work! I'll just buy a cheap after market headlight from China.
well depend some card you need to remove wheel splash shield liner and bumper to remove headlight so good luck with that!
Stuff ffffed up my lights /:
The stuff did not do no damage you did the damage if you read the directions it will come out fine
@@glenkisela8550 well I read the directions and watched this video tutorial… however I noticed some unsatisfactory reviews coming from people with nice cars as opposed to positive reviews coming from those with average automobiles. But thank you for your unnecessary and condescending response.
hey bro how did it mess them up?
@@ToasterStrudelFan Stop complaining troll you probably fked it up yourself or lying to get attention foh.🤡
Elaborate please! I have a 2017 Volvo that I was going to use this kit on. I’m not sure what classifies as “nice car” and “average car. I’m also not sure what could be different about the headlight shell of a nicer car vs an average car that would make this kit perform differently. They are all just polycarbonate, right? But in the case that I am totally ignorant to something, I would like the education if someone could provide.
@0:24: "Cloudy headlights like this will fail a safety inspection." Not like that they won't. Stopped watching with that BS.
I should’ve worded it differently. Where I live, cloudy headlamps can be failed but it’s up to the inspector to make a judgement call. I’ve heard stories of shops failing lamps for oxidation where that expense could’ve easily been avoided with half an hour worth of work
@TheCarDetailingChannel Fair enough, though I think I'd take issue with any inspector failing a car for _that_ level of haze. Glad it was just a wording issue and not that you were trying to scare-monger over it. Thanks for explaining.
In the UK they would fail those headlights.
It really was easy to use. I bought this to restore headlights on 2009 Honda CRV my daughter drives at school. It takes a little time to do both headlights, but it's very easy to do. Both headlights look like new. If it lasts a year and I can clean and seal the headlights again next year I'll happily do so for $15 US. She's probably got almost double the light at night now. I'm very glad I bought the kit. Thanks for the informative review.
I have a 08 Accord I plan on trying to sell, I'm going to give this stuff a try.
thx for only using what comes in the kit. a lot of people using different sand papers and power tools, and that's not helpful at all.
You’re welcome. I was so tempted to use a more aggressive sand paper here but I refrained from doing that because what this kit could do on its own. The results were far from perfect but also far better than where we started. Plus, the owner was very happy
@@TheCarDetailingChannel i used the cerakote and it turned out great. i paid for a bulb to be replaced/installed. total cost $60 compared to $400+ for new headlights.
Just did my car today and it looks fantastic. I went a little overboard and taped drop cloth to the front of the car below the head lights to ensure no chemical runoff on the paint 👍
Excellent results. Well worth the time and effort.
Absolutely worth it. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment
Small portion of only the right headlight of 2019 Acura MDX is showing oxygenation. Would you recommend completing the process on the entire surfaces of both right and left headlights, even though no visible oxygenation on most of light's surfaces?
Perform on entire headlight, both L and R sides. The kit will lay down some UV protection to postpone future fading
I just did our 2007 Hyundai Santa fe. Our head lights were way worse than your demo cars were! I took my time and the results were at least as good as yours. I'm very impressed with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone! 👍
We did the lights on our 2005 Honda Element yesterday. The Step 1 pads never turned yellow? They did come out better overall, but not as good as I'd hoped. Maybe we didn't sand them enough. Not sure. Anyway, appreciate the video! Thanks
Those headlights were practically in good condition. Wish you would have used some worse ones
Before I used this on my 2005 Mercury Sable yesterday, I could not see the bulbs behind the lens Now my headlights look brand new !
too complicated and lengthy, also slightly damaged my paint around headlights, not 30 mins work sure, more like 2 hours, 1st and last time I do it, as usual marketing tricks, better let professional do it if needed or get halogen new lights...
Yes, but somehow 9 hours of scrolling on TH-cam is time well spent. 2 hours of exercise might be just what the doctor ordered. i sure need it.
eBay got them for cheap
Too complicated? Do you have trouble putting on your pants and zipping the zipper in the morning, too?
