@@lrod8692 So far, they are still one off OEM Raptor flares cut and molded to the Lightning as mentioned in the video.
Now this is an electric truck that I would be glad to own! Probably not the best range but for daily driving and weekend back road driving, this would be epic

Was planning on doing a lot of this to my lightning as well (once it arrives). And no surprise, it looks amazing. Looks like I know where to go to get mine done! And to answer your question from the description, yes, I think there will inevitably eventually be a lightning raptor... a Laptor? A Rightning? The name needs work 😂 Also its a pro but it has the front light bar, did they swap the grill with an XLT?
Hey Joseph yes we did swap the light bar in the front. We have a few more things to test but reach out to us when you receive your Lightning ⚡️! We call ours LightningR!
Would love to also see a street touring type build with a lowered Lightning (akin to the original).
A pro with a grill lightbar? My 22 pro doesn’t have that😢
Yes we installed it but have not been able to get it to work. We re also trying to figure out a winch and light bar set up as well. More to follow as we figure it out!
@@LeifAutoGroup I’ve been following forums on that and yes waiting for conclusion to the same install. Apparently Forscan doesn’t have a workaround for it yet and its not a simple plug and play. But i will say it looks great
And it'll probably won't be able to haul anything given how much more lightning weights over the raptor, which the latter already got a pity hilarious payload 🤣 And the range would drops to under 100 miles maybe? 🤭
Wow, amazing. I have a 2022 Ford Lightning. Would you mind sharing which brand fender flares you put on. I could not get any to fit because of the location of the charging port.
They are an OEM Raptor flare cut and molded to fit the Lightning.

Great videos!! Could you give me a specs on the fender flares?
They are OE Raptor flares that had to be cut down and molded to the Lightning body. Took a lot of work and was all done by hand by Saleen Performance Parts.
Translation: 25% raptor swapped, 25% aftermarket and 50% custom fabbed.....

Hows this pro have the full lightbar on front?
We swapped it out at the dealership, it does not work yet. But we have been working with aftermarket companies that will allow us to run external power to not just the light bar but other accessories like a winch, led light bars and more.
It has been tricky but we are working on it!
By the way, can you just please let us know the make and the model of those fantastic wheels?
They are Method Racing Bead Locks I’ll get the specs for you!

I'd do a long travel kit meant for a raptor and end up with even more performance than a Raptor. I've got an all out built first gen raptor.
Thats a great idea! We may or may not go that route!
Camburg makes the narrowest LT kit and BMS the widest. ADV makes the best wide fenders and bedsides. I might do a EV swap into a 2011 when the 6.2 finally goes, but its still strong at 200,000.
Truck has the HID Hellas on it that were on the Roush that ran baja back in the day. A silent wide body long travel 1G would be fun. @@LeifAutoGroup

If it's extended range, my guess would be 260-280 with those big ole tires
Range will be severely limited - ride height and big 'ol tires make this thing a parachute running down the road. This is why Ford doesn't offer a Raptor - Lightening. If they did, the battery would have to be huge, cost would be high, and weight would go up.
Probably the best EV platform to mod into a prerunner / off road is a duel motor model 3. Only 4,000lbs for duel motor and 3,600lbs for rwd. Not just that front suspension is a normal a-arms , and rear is multi link with long , close to center mount arms instead of this F150 baja bug style swing arm (which looks like it’s impossible to extend 3x3” without crazy wheelbase) . Also model 3 still has a steel sub frame to weld / modify not aluminum like a rivian. But ya biggest reason weight , and close to center mount pivots (more travel possible).
I probably couldn't afford to get a full on raptor swap like that, but when I get one I do want to get some 33's and upgraded suspension, maybe with a leveled suspension or something.

Cool video but I would love to see a deeper dive into what they did with the rear suspension. From what I understand about the front, it was probably mostly bolt on but the rear would have been a nightmare.

How bad was the torque steer when you drove this on the road?
It will catch you by surprise if your not ready for it but it is manageable.
do foresee anyway to fix or significantly decrease torque steer? Lifts like this on the Lightning are great for the dirt but it makes hard acceleration on the street downright scary:-(@@LeifAutoGroup

This is awesome! Were there any issues with the traction control in corners on dirt? I've read others on pavement complain about power reduction in corners. I haven't played with the traction control on my Lightning but curious if you ran into any computer traction issues etc... Ie. The computer being "too smart"
Yes we did get the stability control kicking in when we were sliding in the corners. We are still trying to figure that out.

Range ?
When fully charged battery depending on temperature the range is around the 230 mile mark. We did notice about 10% loss while driving but the regen system works well with the bigger radius of the wheels and tires.
In freezing temps or below freezing we have noticed we do not reach the full 230 mile range.
So freaking dope!! Thing is wild!

I crack up when I see so many tricked out pickup trucks around San Antonio and Austin and there is hardly any good off roading anywhere in these areas.
Its true! Almost all the land is private, unless you go to Rally Ready, Wolf caves, Hidden Falls, etc...
Rally Ready hosts the TORE off-road events for Raptors and TRX's which is really cool. Its like autocross for trucks!

We were invited by Optima Batteries to partake in their EV events at King of the Hammers. We did more testing on the sand dunes and whoops out there after the EV events. Not much on camera aside from the events but we are still fine tuning it.

Very cool build, but calling a Raptor swapped vehicle seems a bit leading. Sounds like only a couple of OEM parts used. But again, super cool to see a Lightning rip around an offroad track.
