Finally got a chance to watch this, went out on my kayak today and caught a 45lb wopper of a sharp tooth catfish(south African native cat) on a Carolina rig that I based off of your tutorials, thanks Justin for the tips tricks and amazing content(this was also the first time I've caught a decent cat off my kayak, and I've only had it 2 months now)I also caught 4 in the 20-30 lb range and 2 dinks😂
R.KELLY! 😂😂😂😂 I just about signed a record deal laughing so hard. EPIC! Should be called comedy kayak catfishing! Like my grandpa said! “That’s a knee slapper”
"Get on out of here R Kelly" is hands down the funniest thing I have heard in a LONG time 😂 Amazing content as always, man! Thanks for all that you do!
Buck Perry would be proud , you read bottom structure and travel routes better than most ! I have Mr Perry’s books trying to learn .thanks for your help
Ive used navionics in lieu of a graph. You did pretty good today. Some quality fish! It was great to see you out in a smaller kayak today. I love the big one, but, unatainable for me. I would suggest a small fishfinder. I have a Garmin Striker 4 that is set up with batttery and all in a ammo can(not my idea)that just lifts right out. Have to make the transducer arm out of PVC but that was pretty easy. The lid is used to mount the graph base, the battery and extra cable goes inside, it sits in the middle of my lifetime tamarak and the trxdr flops over the side on a couple pieces of pvc and 2 elbows. Anyway, loved the "bare bones" catfishing trip😊
Love seeing that sunrise, Beautiful!🤩 You know, there's people out there that after 2 hours of fishing with zero bites, they're ready to call it quits. I canNOT fish with those people!🚫😆 AWESOME GOLLYWHOPPERS! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Good stuff Justin. If you like a fight, you should try and go after King salmon on the Great Lakes. It’s addictive to say the least. The trolling motor plate I purchased from you a couple years ago has worked awesome for me. Just had to do a little modification since the front of the kayak wasn’t square.
I've been wondering if you got over to Ft. Loudon with all those homes. Back when I was growing up, there weren't any homes there or much of anything else. I sure loved E. Tn though
What a great video 2 gollywhoppers a very nice fun sizer all on the bare bones setup. It does make a man wonder if the old tale of those fish being able to sense the sonar vibration and the trolling motor vibrations does make them a little skittish, or it could all be being in the right place at the right time. Thanks for another great video, and congratulations on some very nice fish caught.
Nice job, 3 golly whoppers and a funsizer. That’s a heck of a day there. Fist pump for days. Nice job again my friend and cue that bill dance music. 🫡💪🏆
What type of mount are you using for your camera on the kayak, and also the chest? I have a TH-cam channel, and I'm trying to do better with my content.
Im just learning how to cat fish and I can only fish from banks, and we've been having issues with our hookups. My concern is the circle hooks that we are using are bad, They have a much sharper angle on the tip of the hook, kind of close to a 90 degree turn. I also was worried that my hooks werent big enough but they look the same as the ones he uses. We use bluegill heads and body chunks, hooking through the bottom of the mouth and out the top, and hooking the chunks through the top of the spine. Is it also possible that I am hooking them too deep such as too far down the mouth and body chunks? Are you supposed to hook through as close to the tips of the fish as possible? Also are we supposed to crimp down the barb on the hooks? I lost what Im guessing was a 30+ flathead tonight and its been frustrating the last couple of days
Just bend ur hook to one side bringing the point away from the shank. Should definitely help your hook ups. Also dont set the hook when using circle hooks. Let the fish take it and set the hook them selves.. make sure your drag is tight enough to get that hook set in deep but not so tight that it snaps your line .
I seen him catch one that had a black spot on it. And when he looked back in his pics he had caught it before. That one was probably around 70 maybe more. That's the biggest one I've seen him catch.

Nice fish!!
What type of mount are you using for your camera on the kayak, and also the chest? I have a TH-cam channel, and I'm trying to do better with my content.
I made diy mounts to suit my needs. Couldn’t find a normal mount that I liked.
Nice fish
Nice golley whoppers! Quite a workout man. "Get on outa here R Kelly". 😆
