    Thank you Daniela and Naissa for sharing such a tender, complex and challenging chapter in your relationship. Such bravery and honesty. Showing it's still possible to communicate and love throughout pain and loss. Thank you to all those involved in bringing this documentary to the world. I'm sure it will resonate far and wide, comfort and inspire.

    Such a moving and sensitively told powerful story. A beautifully shot documentary dance film, showing deep tenderness and the loving and painful bond between parent and child. Naissa’s dancing, exquisite and essential. A dance from the inside, it is clear. Bravo to all involved in making this short film.

    I somewhat expected an issue of language to arise. Italian is a romance language and has no gender neutral terms for child or baby. Mamma has to choose whether to continue to call Naissa her daughter or switch and call her child…son. I noticed the switch because she did so while speaking English but I wonder about the thought process. Best wishes to both.

      Doubt it. Guardian views are low. Plus, most of the heat is on male-to-female. As many point out, ironically, women transitioning isn't that much of an issue.

      @heybigbender 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@AminTheMystic Women, for the most part, pose no threat to Men's spaces, nor do they generally pose a physical threat, nor do they commit the vast, vast majority of violence and sexual crime in societies across the globe. Transmen are not entering Mens sport outside of a few individuals - compare that to the number of boys and men now competing in Womens and girls sport across all age ranges and ability. Women's single sex spaces exist due to a need for many, many Women to have privacy and seclusion from Men for any number of reasons that don't need to be justified. Men's single sex spaces are not threatened by Women entering them, so there is clear context available when addressing the differences in how TW and TM are scrutinised in relation to Womens rights and spaces specifically.

    Nature versus nurture. These things are taught not learned.
    Humans are way too self involved.

    • @claudiaxander
      @claudiaxander 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So prove the way you behave, your desires, your choices are all natural or just another product of nurture/indoctrination...
      If you cannot do this, i'd keep your opinion hole firmly closed.
      The size of gametes you produce is not inextricably tied to your brain sex:
      The size of gametes your gonads will produce is set at 6-7 weeks,
      Your brain, on the other hand, continues to be sexed by washes of hormones both pre and post nataly. These washes can be triggered by genetics, environmental chemicals, viruses, disease, stress, etc etc
      This biological sexing or gendering of the brain creates your innate identity and may not match the small minded expectations of others in your species.

    To me, he comes across as someone wealthy, compsred to the rest of the world, isolated and cloistered.
    His symbolic, freeing walk towards the sea reminds me of those who accept a new religion. The problem is, however, some of them change their minds.
    This is how you feel now. Was it the actual gender that kept you in shackles or was your gender the target with which you could escape what was bothering you deep down? Only you will know! Only time will tell!
    Regardless, you live one life! If this is how you feel, if this gives you a better life, then rock it better than anyone in history. If you ever feel that you need to change, not a problem. Right now, at this moment, with your current knowledge, you saw this as the right choice. Rock it
    To me, you are a 'he' and I will respect your decision in every aspect

      We never know what the next day will bring, fluidity is part of life. If we were all less caught up in the rigidity and seriousness of gender, maybe it would be easier for people and it wouldn't matter so much if you did decide to change. There is nothing wrong with changing one's mind - it's called personal growth.

      What does 'brain sex' mean?
      Also can you explain why this brain sex is expressed by regressive misoginist tropes of what being a 'man' or 'woman' is?
