Ryan is the best songwriter of the millennium so far by a country mile. No one else is even close. Cold Roses is up there with Blood on the Tracks, Born to Run, and The Queen is Dead. A timeless classic. Not sure why it took me so long to properly discover his music. I bought Rock and Roll when it first came out in 2004, and heard Easy Tiger on a plane to Beijing a few years later, but didn’t start to work my way through the rest of the albums until the end of last year. So glad I did. Heard Cold Roses for the first time in March, and saw the solo concert in Bristol, England in April. A great night - the only thing missing was Magnolia Mountain. It takes me back to my younger days when every new record was like magic happening in my room. I’m just old enough to have bought The Smiths records when they were released originally, and saw them on The Queen is Dead tour in 1986. Don’t think I’ve heard anything as good as Ryan’s music in the intervening years. His albums are consistently wonderful and are continually surprising me. How many great tracks can you cram onto one album? Usually there’s a limit, but Ryan seems to have smashed through it. Nice cats in the video too. I thought mine was loud, but that one seems to have turned the volume up to 11. My iPad keeps cutting out tonight and this is the third time I’ve written this, so guess I must have really wanted to say it. Thank you for the music, Ryan. We were born into a light.
Very generous of you to do this for your fans. I saw you at Strathmore recently and you were fantastic. One of the best shows ever! And I’ve been going to shows since 1976.
Thank you for songsplaning this one. Your very personal way of playing these chords make them very you. When you start singing I float back to 2006 as I saw you do this song with The Cardinals in my home town. With the Dead-like jam and all, one of the best gigs ever.
Ryan Adams, I'm a fellow NC fellow now in Boulder, CO Com'on back to the Boulder Theater for a town lesson..promise I'll pay attention in class this time.
Probably my favorite song of cold Rose's. Or maybe its let it ride or meadowlake st. I digress thanks for showing this I will try so hard to master it. I'm not the best guitarist but I'm getting better.
No wonder 💭 “my” plain jane chords did not do justice to this..I always like to play my chords in pieces and blocks too..how else can we be original right?..but this brother,…oh yes 👍 👏..we will be playing in perfect single note harmony together after this……if the morning comes, would you lie to me? ✌️ ☮️
Hey Ryan I’m a big fan. You are the driving force in which I began to play. It is on my bucket list to meet you some day. I don’t want to meet you and gush over you. However I would like to hang talk shop and go to an arcade maybe challenge you to a game of pinball.

My favourite song of the 2000s and it's not close. Great album too

Thanks mate. This is cool. I think I get your playing style. I also like your resident backing vocalist. 🦁🐈
Awe I had a ginger too! She was the love of my life ❤

Haha. Can someone just tab this out? Love this song. He's just too wicked good at guitar.
Anybody wanna help with the base line by E and the "ionian" part by B later in the video

My storyline
i feel like there's a hundred ways to play this song easier than the way you play it, Ryan hahah
But there's only one way to get that sound...
...And that’s no instant gram
I dare someone to correct his pronunciation of across. Instant blockage! No soup for you!
Ryan, keep your day job--you're not cut out to teach guitar.
Lol. I’ll bet you feel cool now, don’t you......Russell.
