I was stoned the first time I heard this album almost 40 years ago. Every sound in this song echoed in my teen-aged brain with a haunting, shaking, swirling sound awaking me to the beauty that was this music.
@@petebratschi best experience ever. Almost every time i trip i listen to this song and its such a great feeling. especially the trippy videos with it lol
This used to be my favourite music video back in 2015... I kept watching it until one day I couldn't find it on TH-cam, I thought it had been taken down. Well here I am in 2024, I found this masterpiece again ❤
...So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking Racing around to come up behind you again. The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older, Shorter of breath and one day closer to death. We're all dying man, one day at a time. Thank you David, Thank you Roger. May your music never die.
I remember the first time I listened to this song, and heard the solo. It made me tear up, not out of sadness or depression, but out of happiness and pure amazement. I had never heard anything more passionate or beautiful before. It gave me chills, and a haunting feeling crypt past me. Pink Floyd are one of the best and most creative bands to have ever graced Earth. And David Gilmour is one of the best musicians to have ever picked up the guitar. He brings a touch and feel to the instrument that a lot of musicians wish they could have. His tone and bends/vibrato are unmistakable. There is only one David Gilmour.
This is literally the song that made me pick up a guitar. I was the same way when I first heard it, and when I learned to play it it was an amazing feeling. As for Gilmour I think Dave Mustaine put it best, ''Gilmour can do more with one note than most guitarists can with their entire fretboard''.
The craziest thing about this song is that if you listen to it while doing something it always ends at the perfect time. I listened to it on my drive home... and literally the moment I pulled into the driveway the "home...home again" part kicked in. It tripped me out... it was almost like it was speaking my thoughts. Pinky Floyd is timeless....it will never get old or tired. Which is ironic!
Big Johnson There is no band like Pink Floyd, i meant, they're very good, there is no band like them, Sorry for my english bro, not my native language ^^
that high pitch right at the beginning of that very first long, low bass note has always intrigued me, and the percussion leading into the nuts and bolts of this song is superb (like it's coming out of a cold, dark tunnel).
I watched this video while stoned, and realized I needed to say something to the one who made it. It is fucking awesome. I never would have thought about actually complementing the creator while sober, but I just realized that you deserve so much credit and gratitude for actually taking the time to make it. It is fucking awesome and it made my little high a lot better than it otherwise would have been! Just want you to know that you really made me happy by making this animation :) Have a good one!
Dude, there was so much I wanted to say about this, but you encapsulated it to perfection, Thank you sir, for appreciating this to the level is deserves and so many unspeakable kudos to the makes of this video. Awesome job indeed!
Really creative - the animation, the symbolism, storytelling in quick little flashes at the beginning... awesome! Your artistic ability does justice to this Pink Floyd classic.
Where was this back in the late 70s when my high school friends and I would plan trips to the Burke Baker Planetarium in Houston TXwhen they would do PF light shows. Just awesome work here!
This song changed my life. It told me not to miss that starting gun. I'm almost 18, and just found out i haven't done anything in life. Not only is it lyrically good, but the solo in this song is like regretful soul screaming at you to live life to the fullest.
I have never watched or heard a pink floyd song/video in the 29 years of being on this earth ( not really a fan of the genre ) but i must say this song/video has had a profound impact on me....
+Beavissolid pink floyd is an experience... you gotta listen and let it take you on a journey. It doesn't matter what genres you like, pink floyd is timeless and will take you anyway.
6 months later i still come back to listen/watch this video. But this song makes me ponder my own mortality, and low key makes me feel a lil sad about the inevitable. Im convinced scores of people have listened to this song right before taking their own life
Especially love the way you incorporated the clock as the cyclical sun when the character runs Very well done, kept me captivated to see what you'd do next
Every time I listen to this, I think about the pictures I've seen of my parents back in the day when this song was fresh and wonder what it was like to live then
Well sometimes if you think deep thoughts they can change to depressed thoughts. cause you can realize the sad part of or in this case. the depressed mood.
I watched Time and was blown away, then I put on an old pair of red and blue 3d glasses and watched it again and was completely BLOWN AWAY! Thank you for this work of pure genius art!
This band is like what I grew up with, with my dad..each song has a memory...each song is great!! each song actually has a meaning...the wall by far to me the most meaningful...
Thank Gilmour for one of the finest lead solos ever, don't forget! Used to blast this song from my '69 Pontiac on the way home from work everyday back in the day. Still some of the finest guitar work ever.
It's so strange that Pink Floyd of all bands is so associated with drug use, as Syd Barrett completely lost in mind because of the stuff. All of these comments about how "I've always been high when listening to this" and "this is amazing when tripping" are just so sad. They're nothing more than pathetic attention grabs. It's basically the same as saying "LOOK AT ME, I'M A BADASS BECAUSE I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE LAW." The animation in this video is amazing, by the way.
What about the people in Colorado? They made recreational use of marijuana legal there. So if they were saying it, it would be the same as saying "LOOK AT ME, I BOUGHT MY WEED AND BEER IN THE SAME STORE!"
***** It's not a problem if you use them per se. It's a problem when you gain dependency on them and you spend your whole life in your basement "shooting" so much Heroin through your system it could kill a small dog.
Awesome job man! Great to see all kinds of artists pay tribute to Pink Floyd, a truly unique and historic band, I also paid tribute to them recently by doing a 5 minute medley of the entire "Dark Side of the moon" album, on one straight looping session, I'll leave the link in the replies below in case anyone wants to check it out!
I know it sounds weird but everytime i hear this it makes me imagine the fiery bull coming out if the clock in the last unicorn and her fighting him back at the ocean
Some of you get it, and some of you don't. I am proud to say I lived in the best times of naturally talented musical artists. The animation is adorable, and creative. Amazing animation to go with an amazing song. The song always makes me think about how fast time flies as you get older and this animation really supports that. The stars in the background whizzing by while the character walks along at normal speed is such a great touch. Excellent job.

This is the most simple but awesome Flash Animation for a song I ever seen.
Guitar solo over hook from 3:40 to when the vocals come in at 4:40 is lightning in a bottle.
This song always makes me think deeply on the life. The things that have passed and the things that may come. But we always end up like we've come.
Beautiful video man. It's officially up there as my favorite Fan Made Pink Floyd video next to "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun".
he didn't waste his time he changed the world. and his insights are what made him a good musician(lyrically)
