I'm so happy that the German public gave as many points as possible to the Israelian girl. So did I. I think it's not in her mind to make war against whoever. I think this young man shows the reason why young people can not or should not be elected to a role of leadership in a society. He is on one hand saying it is a difficult situation and yet he then gives a definitive answer to the problem. I agree with him that no nation involved in a military conflict should be allowed to enter Eurovision , but that means Ukraine should not be included next year either, as has been the case since 2022 with Russia and Belarus. Also this is a song contest and on one hand he says that politics has no place here, and then the other says that the EBU should use politics to decide who enters and what they can do. The Keffiyeh is not just a piece of clothing, It has been used by groups in many nations as a part of the uniform to show they are fighting in conflicts, and the only reason he is wearing one is to make sure everyone knows who he sides with. If a German entry was to wear the swastika on stage then all kinds of hell would break lose. When he said the EBU have handled this issue incompetently he is correct. The current EBU structure lacks leadership and they are the ones allowing politics to takeover the event. The reason Eurovision has lost its appeal to a lot of casual viewers is similar to the Oscars. You have just about every entry droning on about one issue or another instead of just singing and creating the performance. Until that happens Melodifestvallen and San Remo will start to gain ground, as they are just about the music and nothing else, no social issues, no political issues and no signs of prejudice or bias.
