Hi Tony What a nice Pickup truck You have made there 😊 And the Pedal-generator thing is like many new factory-made small delivery vehicles is made these days. And no problems with chaindrive to the backwheels I wonder if You could ditch the trailer, save a big part of the trailer-weight and make the Pickup more nimble in traffic, by moving the solarpanels up at a big hinged lid at the truck-bed ?. The lid must be able to keep open maybe 35-40 degrees while you load and unload and must be lockable secure flat while driving and not catch sidewind. Lighter weight also needs less motors and less batteries. But if You your 540 RPM hubmotor can’t manage the hills alone like most hubmotors, then look for gearing for your motor. Maybe just LO-gear / HI-gear is enough. It's only Tesla's which can manage without gears because of insanely high motor-RPM at high speed ;-) Kind regards form Denmark, Happy driving

I would say lose the pedals you could put an extra battery or two up there and just get more solar power you can have it fixed up to where you’ve got panels everywhere they’ll fit on the top and sides of that truck and you could also have seven or 800 W of foldable, flexible, solar panels folded up in the bed when you stop you could just have all your solar charging it

One problem was the wind, driving with the panels tilted to the sun, would catch the wind just right and cause steering problems. rooftop panels are in the works, but I will keep the trailer for the extra load-bearing capacity, and some extra power. The current law limits the truck to 1 hp. but says nothing about a powered trailer. It pulls itself and provides a bit of push on some hills.
I want to bet that if you contacted Elon Musk he would probably donate you a bunch of batteries and help build you a light-weight frame. I absolutely LOVE your creation and ingenuity! No one needs going fishing when they have the brains to create things like that! Well done "Corn Cob"! 😄

Tricycle has three wheels .. but they are not called Tricycle tires .. they are called Bicycle tires .. I guess the trailer could be called a Bicycle since it only has two wheels .. lol 😀
electric bike rims have motors mounted on them and are getting very cheap. you would no longer have to pedal period and if you installed one for each wheel you would be 4 wheel drive. i plan on making something similar with them but a 4 seater
trailer keeps the panel profile lower, carries some of the battery weight also. trailer has wheel motors ,so provide extra power. Jalopy is restricted to 1hp. all that weight would stop it on hills. absolutely essential.

lean not really a problem..thought about a sway bar, that added weight...I did put stronger springs, works fine

I have a trike can do all throttle or pedal assist all throttle about 15 miles pedal assist 20 or more depending on how much assist i want
