I must admit, this probably is one of the best Dettingen Te Deum performances out there. Everything in it just screams Handel, down to the sheer gigantism of the choir and orchestra. Then again, this is for a festival all about Handel, so it makes sense.
Mr Arman (conductor) taught me to sing, when I wanted to join the Wiltener Sängerknaben, later the Innsbrucker Capellknaben. It was a honor to be taught by a genius.
I was allways fascinated by the opening theme. Of an unbelievable simplicity, just 2 notes spaced so well that they convey a whole world of positive activity.

The orchestera , choir, solist and conductor have made one of the best recording ever of the Dettngen Te Deum. I would love to hear them play the Te Deum Utrecht, I just know it would be the best version ever.
Great performance. The diction of the chorus is so clean, you can clearly hear them mispronounce the English vowels (most notable "theh" instead of "thuh" for the). I stopped noticing it after a while and just enjoyed the wonderful music. The recording is also excellent. The sound is quite warm, but not overly reverberant, which is surprising considering the stone walls and the size of the church.

Beautiful setting and performance. A shame adverts are not reserved for pre and post performance; love having my eardrums blasted with obnoxious adverts mid performance.

' (OUT OF THIS UNIVERSE) PERFORMANCE OF HANDEL'S CLASSIC MASTERPIECE ! SO CHECK IT OUT , THE MUSIC IS ECLECTIC AND ESOTERIC AND BEAUTIFUL !
Glorious Handel . . . as always. Hard to beat him for sheer, hair-raising, awe-inspiring grandeur. First time hearing this, although I've been a Handel fan for 50 years. And - what an amazing setting! Many, many thanks for posting this . . . but who is the conductor? (Asking this at only 16 minutes through, so perhaps his name will pop up later.)
A victory sure. But can we call it "great" ? This battle was so common, It had no real influence on any belligerent nor any impact for the global conflict. At least it gave us a nice music, thanks to Handel.
Too big? Not big enough, in my opinion! George III certainly knew his way around Handel, and had commemorated the centenary of Handel's birth by holding a performance of Messiah in Westminster Abbey with an orchestra 250 musicians strong, and with the choir and orchestra combined, the advertisements promised that "The Band [would] consist of eight hundred performers". This piece therefore is not too out of place with gigantic tastes of the 18th century English audience. This performance seems to be a nod to that event all those years ago.
A most extraordinary interpretation of a most extraordinary composition.
I must admit, this probably is one of the best Dettingen Te Deum performances out there. Everything in it just screams Handel, down to the sheer gigantism of the choir and orchestra. Then again, this is for a festival all about Handel, so it makes sense.
Saying magnifique is inadequate for this masterpiece it is extraordinary

The battle of Dettingen in 1743 was the last time that a British monarch personally led his army into a battle.

Mr Plock a une très belle voix plus proche de celle de baryton que de celle de basse..

A obra te Deum também é dividida em partes como o Messiah ?
sim
A great victory over France!❤️
Fuck you !
Why so aggressive? Why such impoliteness?
A victory sure. But can we call it "great" ? This battle was so common, It had no real influence on any belligerent nor any impact for the global conflict.

handle didn't want to entertain... he wanted to save.

Good
Not one of my favourite Handel pieces. Too declamatory and the choir is too big.
Too big? Not big enough, in my opinion!
