The project to rehabilitate and improve the quality of National Road No. 33, 52.57 km long, connecting Kampot City (splitting National Road No. 3 at km 148 + 100) to Lok (Cambodia-Vietnam border) achieved 83 results. 58% by the end of June 2024 and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2024.
This is according to the publication of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport on July 2, 2024.
This important national road was built through the geography of Teuk Chhou and Kampong Trach districts of Kampot province to Kep city and Damnak Chang Eur district of Kep province towards Lok (Cambodia-Vietnam border).
Recently, an official from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, led by Mr. Pal Chandara, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and Project Coordinating Manager, inspected the technical condition and progress of the expansion and upgrading of National Road 33 to ensure That the National Road 33 project is implemented in accordance with the correct standards, quality and can be used for a long time.
It should be noted that the project to expand and improve the quality of National Road 33 was officially announced on December 30, 2022, with a construction cost of more than 61 million US dollars and a period of 40 months to build by the Bridge Corporation.
