De los 3 conciertos para violín de Haydn (por lo menos de los que nos han llegado hasta ahora), este es también mi predilecto, y la versión del maestro Estrada es perfecta, No podía ser de otra manera después de escuchar sus espléndidas versiones de las sinfonías de París de Haydn (están en TH-cam). Es un director que ha llegado a un sitial envidiable, dirigiendo a la Filarmónica de Viena y otras prestigiosas orquestas. La solista Baiba Skride excelente. La grabación fílmica y el audio espléndidos. Mil gracias por este regalo.
Wunderbar! Exceptionally good sound recording... super quiet ambience, just the right amount of hall reverberations, each instrument highly defined and well-balanced... just listen to the violin and string pizzicati... so beautiful... and, oh yes, cello and contrabass resonating on the stage floor... this kind of recording might not be possible after Corona. To me the series of Stage@Seven recordings are all new and very enjoyable experience. Thank you Frankfurt Radio, hr-Symphony and Maestro Orozco-Estrada.

Klare und saubere Aufführung dieses fein komponierten Konzerts mit seidigem und gut phrasiertem Ton der genialen Solovioline sowie gut harmonisierten und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen anderer Instrumente. Die Kadenz klingt besonders schön und auch lyrisch. Der intelligente Maestro dirigiert das kompakte und ausgezeichnete Orchester im lebhaften Tempo und mit angenehmer Dynamik. Einfach wunderschön!

Ms. Skride's stylistic restraint (vibrato and bow pressure that are neither maximal nor continuous) makes this "almost" a "period performance." Well done! 😊

when you compare Haydn’s violin concerto in C and his cello concerto in C it’s the same composer, same key, somewhat similar instruments, but two completely different concertos
@@nickyork8901 No: both the C major cello concerto c.1761 - 1765) and the D major (1783) have both been *definitively* and correctly attributed to Haydn. Manuscript parts of the C major were discovered in Prague in 1962, whilst Haydn’s actual original autograph of the D major was found in 1951. It is only in old, out-of-date books that questions of authenticity are to be found, a particular problem with Haydn where much of the published work before the 20th century renaissance in Haydn scholarship is little better than fiction, anecdotal spurious nonsense, and guesswork.
Please watch this at the lowest quality only (144p) since it's just for the music, which is much more ecologically responsible than at a higher rate. Watching this at 240p (which is unnecessary for listening purposes), will increase the bandwith by double to almost tenfold! At 1080 the bandwith is augmented by a factor of 100! The use of digital technology accounts for 4% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions, as much as the emissions from the world's truck fleet. Of that, a BIG part comes from livestreaming videos, mainly 3 sources : TH-cam, Netlfix and porn. Let's enjoy this beautiful music by being aware and responsible and doing our little part in protecting this wonderful planet.

...ah, but is it indeed the same composer? His cello concertos - which I adore - are a bit of a mystery, in terms of authenticity, aren't they?
