- Saab 2000, SE-LRA, aborted take-off at low speed. Then the turboprop airplane turned around to reposition for take-off. There can be many reasons for deciding to perform a rejected take-off.
The Saab 2000 is a regional aircraft, Swedish-built, carries 50 passengers and is one of the fastest turboprop airliners. Its high cruise speed is near jet speed at 680 km/h what gave the Saab 2000 the nickname "Concordino". The aircraift is equipped with two Rolls-Royce Allison AE 2100A turboprop engines, each driving a six-bladed propeller.

When I was a kid, I am really scared of the sound of turboprops, but now, as an aircraft enthusiast, the sound produced by these planes makes me go WOW.
"I was"
Did you ever hear an airplane powered by the Rolls Royce Dart turboprop? When I was 5 years-old the sounds of those scared me as well but, I ended up loving them as they powered my favourite airplane, the Fairchild Hiller FH-227!!
SAAB 2000, we get you there, fast! Some serious powerplants on the dude. Me and the peeps could jam around the country in that thing!!
The Saab 2000 is such a great turboprop. Too bad it never caught on. Very great footage of the rejected takeoff and actual takeoff!
Thank you very much!
I used to see these all of the time in Philadelphia. Just saw one last week.
Very cool! Thanks for watching!
Very interesting catch. The Saab 2000 is a nice and pretty rare sight. :-)

Thank you Steve! Yes, I was surprised to spot once a rejected take-off. Have a great weekend!
awesome video!
Thank you very much!
Nice to see a Saab 5000! Liked, and thanks for the information, especially "Concordino"!
Thanks a lot! Yes, Saab 2000 is an awesome and very fast turboprop aircraft.
I wonder if that nickname was also coined by Crossair, like "Jumbolino", seeing how they were the biggest customer.
EDIT: it indeed was!
I really love this turboprop.
Great pictures - thank you matthias.
What did the radio say?
Wow, very awesome strange footage! Really nice shot! :) Love seeing aborted take-off's! :) I saw an aborted take-off by a SIA 777 :) Good work, massive like from me!
I love Saabs
Another nice video.''
Thank you very much Trevor!
nice
Thanks!
This is the first takeoff I've seen in that direction. The pilot couldn't seem to makeup his mind.
Not sure what the problem was! Take-Off was on runway 32 towards Bern City.
What a monster! There is a right turboprop, not the fa* ATR... In aviation security is around performance, sadly sales are not. And you are right, a single dog walking near the runway can do that... Thanks for the video! :)
Nice.
Thanks
@@matthiashaenni You are welcome.
HOLA AAA QUE BUEN AVION BUEN VIDEO
... if at first you don't succeed, try and try again ... ;o)
thanks for the interesting information about the plane ... mbk
You are right! Never give up! Thank you so much for your kind comment! Very, very much appreciated!! Best wishes, Matthias
Forgot the coffee,,,,,,,,,but found the coffee,,,,,,,,after RTO
I had the experience of a rejected take-off in a Crossair Saab 2000 at Basel once. It felt like it was rather close to V1 at the time: quite dramatic! Still, it adds to my repertoire of aviation horror stories, eh?
Those props going to beta at 2:21...best sound in the world
Nearly but not quite as good as a RB211 on a Boeing 757.
sounds like Soviet An-24.
Interesting video Matthias, never seen that before. Also interesting info on the nickname "Concordino", I didn't know that. Big like.
Thank you very much Connall! Looking forward to flying in the Saab 340 soon ;) Have a great weekend!
why was it turning around and trying again the line-up with the runway matt
01:22 -Captain: oh fuck!....my charger phone!
-Copilote: look behind the chair.
-Captain: Oh, yes. Sorry
That's very interesting to see. Is this aircraft operated by an airline or a test/demo plane for Saab? I've always loved the 2000, wish we had some around where I live.
The aircraft belongs to Saab. Pretty sure it is for demo or transport for crew / management. Thanks a lot for watching! Have a great weekend!

Thanks, you too!
the best thing about turboprops they can stop almost on a dime
@@derekwall200 Is reverse pitch more effective at stopping than reverse thrust on a jet?
Is that a demonstration aircraft of SAAB ?
Yes it is
love you please give me kisses!
