- Eurolot, the Polish regional operator, commenced seasonal weekly flights from Bern to Heringsdorf. The route is operated with the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 Turboprop, equipped with 74 seats.

I love the sound that the props make, the "box fan' sound in taxiing, and the "bumblebee" sound in takeoff and inflight.

I like it when you film that takeoffs from this point. You get to hear the engine noise better than when you shoot them taking off from behind the plane.

Dash 8 ... a plane I have to take on my way home, to continue ... after an in-vigorous overseas-flight on a big bird. Quite a contrast really. One might even call it a decline ...
Still ~ flying is beautiful, whichever bird it is ... big bird ... small bird ... ;o)

To my eye, this machine has always looked like it has very small wings, relative to the size of the fuselage and engine nacelles. Nearly as if not enough to be able to fly! But, there you have it, it does indeed fly!
The Q400 sure is big for a regional airliner, many regional jets aren’t even as big as the Q400
Why do most Q400 taxi with wing spoilers raised?

Company nickname of the Dash 8 is "the quiet one" lol. Hilarious considering how deafeningly loud it is on the outside! I guess they are quiet to fly in though.
I flew in Dash 8 several times. It depends where you are seated ;) But I found all flights comfortable and very fast!
***** I used to work at Bombardier's flight test center. A lot of our planes there were all the very first planes of their type. Most all of the first few of any type were there at some point. Of course all are experimental flight certificates and the planes are full of test equipment. They will never carry passengers that aren't crew. So as a mechanic, we didn't get to go for flights. I actually did work on the 1st Q400 though! She's quite loud at ground idle from the outside!
When viewing from the front or at the back the plane looks like a moving tube

Danke! Regelmässig nicht. A320 waren bisher nur 2 da. 737 sind eher anzutreffen, wobei es meist um Charter oder VIP-Flüge handelt.
Ach so schade, denn von TXL fliegt nur die teure Skywork nach Bern, aber nicht Swiss oder Lufthansa, EasyJet
