So this is what we've become... I am totally okay with religion being taught at home, in church, or even private study groups. But this sounds absolutely like you're trying to force the Bible on somebody.
@@MatuzaMortgages actually yeah. My other issue with this is, how do you have random teachers in schools teach something that usually somebody should have to go to some sort of seminary or have a theology degree of sorts to teach?
You took the words right out of my mouth. There is a separation of church and state. Keep religion to the churches, homes, and private schools that are funded and orchestrated by the Christian faith themselves. Public schools are for everyone, not just Christians.
I can't believe that he said that he, as a Christian man, thinks that using the Bible as a tool of teaching in classrooms is revulsive.😮💨 He is NOT a follower of Christ if he is going to say things like that. The Bible is literally supposed to be a tool of teaching. There are ways to teach with it that don't infringe upon the religious freedoms of students. Schools often hang inspirational quotes up where the students can see them. Historical quotes are often desplayed as well. Why is this educator making a stink about this? Instead of sitting around and complaining that the mandate is stupid and unconstitutional, he could have found a way to incorporate it into his school in a wise and constitutionally sound way.🤔 For example, why not hang up verses like this on the chalkboard in a math class? James 1:4 "But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing." Proverbs 1:5 "A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels." 2 Corinthians 4:8 "We are perplexed, but not in despair." These verses are very applicable to the experience of studying math. The fact of the matter is, it would be wrong to force non-Christians to open up the Bible and read it the way Christians do. We acknowledge it as the word of God and study it with reverence. People of other faiths won't feel the same way about the Bible when they read it. However, the Bible has passages that are not only relevant but helpful to children of all walks of life. There's no reason to spurn the idea of exposing kids to verses such as the ones I've shared.❤
The Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion - John Adams There’s a reason Thomas Jefferson advocated for a clear separation between church and state-it’s embedded in the Constitution. The government is prohibited from endorsing any single religion. Forcing children to be indoctrinated in one particular faith is a direct violation of that principle. If the governor allows this, then he must also allow the Quran to be taught as divine truth and the Vedas as the inspired word of God. After all, with over 18,000 deities and 4,000 religions in existence, cherry-picking one to promote is nonsensical and shows more loyalty to religious institutions than to any true divine entity. I highly doubt that most reasonable parents want their children to be taught that a man who believes a mysterious voice-or a powerful political figure-commands him to murder his son is a hero. You know, like the story of Abraham and Isaac.
I'm sure the founders would have had no idea what the United States would look like today but I'm sure they would say our desire to be free has taken a questionable turn somewhere. This is far from the worst idea in the era of school shootings and Onlyfools graphic sites considered acceptable behavior. Children are the most precious thing in our society. If you don't like this idea, then present something better to protect children.

Cry about it honestly there's TONS of con-tradictions in conservative thinking in the bible anyway. Oh boo hoo someone agrees that religion should be between you God and MAYBE your pastor, not your school teachers that may not even believe. 😂😂😂
Bible is needed in schools. If you can teach pride( sexual immorality) Then teach the Bible and allow kids to make a sound choice. Knowing right from wrong.
Revulsive.......that distasteful? Really? I think that's a bit over the top. If you've got all the gas and trans stuff, how could the Bible be revulsive?
The superintendent has a great idea, but the implementation part (i.e., forcing) may not be the best method. Yes, public schools should have elective courses based upon the predominant faiths in that area (with input from parents). Yes, public schools should designate a place and allow students time during the school day for prayer and faith based study (albeit Christian, Muslim, Jewish, etc..). Faith should not be forced in schools, but freely allowed in schools, so that each child can express themselves safely thru their individual values. The anti-God crowd, of course, would like for faith to not appear in any parts of public schools, but faith is inherently a part of American and global society. To say that the Bible, Koran, or Torah are revulsive is such an unlearned stance. What's more shocking is this statement came out of the mouth of a self-proclaimed, so-called Christian.
The Bible can be implemented in all aspects period....and one NEEDS to UNDERSTAND the REASON for separation of Church and State...oh and BTW the Bible was taught in schools before they decided to take them out...❤🎉
Wrong, the Bible wasn't taught in schools. Catholics and Protestants killed each other in the streets over which Bible to use in the schools before the Civil War. The early 1960s cases didn't remove the Bible from schools. They only banned forcing students to use it. Quit listening to David Barton and other phonies.
Gods warning for those who may decide to alter the Bible. These two verses are written at the end of Chapter 22 in the book Revelations. 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book. 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Explains why Oklahoma is in the bottom 5 in terms of education
Right? They obviously need more spelling and less religious indication.
There are faiths other than judeo christian in this country
I've already sent a opt-out to my kids Oklahoma school as well as a demand to keep Ryan Walters away from my children.
Thank you. Word is going to come out about what he's been doing to someone's kids eventually. Keep yours safe.
Im a Christian but public funds cannot have religious use.
So classrooms are hotel rooms now?
Basically
Perhaps Oklahoma should work on more important things. Look at their rankings in terms of important metrics. It’s not great.

This is so dangerous.
Genx was taught acceptance in the 70’s. All went great till mass media showed up. Growing pains in the Anxiety Age.
Just another grifter using God to get his filthy hands on cash.
😃WOW, Oklahoma gives 3 million $ to Trump,at taxpayer expense and kisses right-wing Christian ass at the same time 😮

They might also be surprised by Dinosaurs, and Roads, the ability to communicate with the other side of the world
But an AR ban is out of the question, right?
