The animation still looks stiff, the color is muted. Beyond that I am cautiously optimistic.
The Lee brothers' design is also terrible. It's like they're from a girl's game from the 00s.

One button attack is bs for double dragon, you need to bring back punch and kick if you want to do a legit revive
Meh… looks like it caters more to neon fans… its ok at best rather play fan made openbor remakes… this just looks like another mobile game…like its trying too hard to be better than what it was…hits dont seem impactful and have restrictions… didnt see a single rising knee… i hate 3d graphics on classics…if you want to fix the problem give it a different title because this is not it… and if you disagree cool but youre part of the problem because when youre so easily impressed they crap out more bs like this… i dont like gaiden a lot but thats somewhat ok ish just a spin off of streets of red…idk what the budget is for this game but its in the wrong hands imo…
Nah arc sys can definitely do better than this. Something about this doesnt seem inspired. Like the art style can be very guilty gear or the fighting can mirror river city girls. Unfortunately it looks too much like the xbox360 double dragon using the unreal engine. The game can use a special meter with cinematics or a leveling system or have combo heavy game play. I just hope this game gets more polish. Give it a good story mode with cutscenes. 🤞🏿 we shall see tho. Double Dragon deserves a solid comeback
Arc System Works, please make a Return of Double Dragon Advance or Double Dragon Advance 2 game with graphics that look like the box art for Double Dragon Advance. Please try to include everything that the developers wanted to do but could not due to the constraints of the Game Boy Advance hardware. Thank you.
Yeah I hope there's not a single attack button. We need a punch button. A kick button, a jump button (add a parry button like super DD)
This isn’t bad but it definitely needs some adjustments based on feedback from original devs and fans.
Gaiden and DD Advance are so much better than this lifeless rehash. Part of DD charm was that it was difficult from the start and the challenge with performing the moves made it interesting. 😕

I think Skinny & Franko: Fists Of Violence is a closer and better successor to Double Dragon than that circus DD:Revive..
I think the main issue are the backgrounds. They look super generic and lifeless. The combat itself isn't that bad actually.
I think to the movement into combat is bad all around tbh it seems generic and restricted but other than that I agree

I would not say it's horrible. I ended up enjoying it, but the characters looked deformed.

Strange, in my opinion, the project looks more like a nowaday equivalent to what Simple Series or some Marvelous projects from the PS3/360 era were. Maybe fun and even technical but graphically too weird to allow to determine if the games feel good to play or not without the controller in hand.
Colors are muted to a point that it looks like a UE 3 game(actually i don't even remember "Neon" being that muted), characters seem to rollerskate on the ground too much, and animations do not communicate the hits power as much as the sound make us think they should have,etc.
Let's wait and see as the game evolved from "what the hell is this crap" to " Ok! Potential! keep talking" very very fast(less than a month)...
As of now i like the moves variety and the kind of Urban Reign/Yakuza-ish interactivity with the decor.
It looks and plays like a totally different game. Why can't game developers stick with the original formula from the classics with tweaks and upgrades?
Every double dragon game has played different from the first two arcade games bro. Even the home ports on nes played somewhat different.
Choosing to release this on Xbox One instead of Switch is a bold move, not gonna lie. Looks horrendous visually, but I like the interactive environment stuff. Seems like it'll be a fun time.
I don't understand how someone can't get Double Dragon right remake after remake and they always seem to screw something up I'll still buy this but hope it doesn't disappoint

This looks like a PS3 game, to be honest. Gaiden and Neon had the right idea. This looks like a college thesis project for game designers.
Wait this looks like a ps3 game to you and Gaiden looked better? Gaiden looked like an enhanced nes game. I honestly think the Sega genesis and snes could have run gaiden.

I agree about Gaiden, but not about Neon's graphics. I have seen people complain about Neon having stiff character animation, but I have never heard any complains about the graphics. Besides the arcade games Neon probably has the best graphics for a double dragon belt scrolling game.
@themoviereviewwarriors939 That was the point of Gaiden, though, and one of the reasons I'm not a fan of 3d models in videogames. 3d has been done so much better than this in the past, and this feels like a step backward. Neon and Gaiden weren't perfect, but they worked very well within their respective parameters and definitely had personality. This just looks incredibly generic to me. Hopefully, they polish it up and breathe some life into it. (Edit: 3D games carry the weight of needing to be believable, and this just isn't there yet)
I prefer Double Dragon Gaiden over this. This looks like a mobile game that has made its way onto a console. The flashy Street Fighter effects don't save it from this viewpoint. I believe a better job was done with Neon with larger sprites and stage layout. As of writing this, I am playing River City Girls 2 which you can view on my channel, and it is a blast even with a lower graphics count. Looks aren't everything, and can't be used to replace gameplay.👍🏿✌🏿
Gaiden is literally one of the worst in the franchise. Even on Brawler game community boards im on, majority agreed gaiden is horrible, along with the hipster chibi graphics.
Lol this looks like a mobile game,but Gaiden looks great. That game looked like a pumped up nes game and could have run on a sega genesis or a snes.
This looks way to stiff, choppy, and unpolished. Double Dragon Neon played way better than this. I'll just wait for the Billy and Jimmy DLC in River City Girls 2. they look sick in that game.
