We stopped at an area where train carriages from a derailment were left to rot in the hot sun near Choûm in the Adrar Region of Mauritania. The wreckage must have been from a train derailment some time ago. It looks like a scrap metal junkyard. Gerak Darma's team has some idea about the value of this if we can sell it for scraps. The state agency Société nationale industrielle et minière (SNIM) that controls the railway line must have a plan for these scraps. Then again, they have billions of tons of iron ore here and do not worry about some scrap metal. Hahaha
