One of the best clear video which makes a fresher understand about design field. Thanks sir for making this video, kindly make different videos and share your knowledge!!
Very good composed communication on mech engineers development. gives complete mind map for development. I suggest to young engineers to read the books on non violence communication and crucial conversations .
Sir, thanks for such videos it serves a lot in guidance for design engineer Sir, From where do we can gain this knowledge of plastic or sheet metal domain as there is not much E-learning resources for such domains ?
Call Jagadish sir @8329029492 if you are interested in course of Plastic design. He will provide you all info as well as you can attend free demo sessions before you decide to enroll.
Ok sir, sir can you make detail video to differentiate between product design, industrial design and tool design and how to know product design or tool design companies ?
Sir , I wish your channel will grow up because you provide best to best and useful knowledge and I am so lucky to become your subscriber 🙏❤️ Suggestion- provide study video in detail for building good foundation skills related to only for Design engineer (not cad software)
I beg to differ. Imagine you are Design Leader of Seating Subsystem. You have to deal with plastic, sheetmetal, foam, casting, forged and machined parts and also prototypes. Without knowledge of manufacturing processes in details, it becomes challenging to lead subsystems or systems projects. Off course, you don't learn overnight. But one has to learn these processes over the time if you wish to grow in your product design career.
Sir your guidance will be very helpful for me. I passed out from college in 2017. After that i learnt surface designing using Catia. And i was quite good in that. But in year 2017-18 i didn't get right opportunity in product design because i was a fresher. I had no choice. I ended up working in Fixture designing.. and now from last 3 years im working in Fixture designing. But I'm really passionate about working in product design. Can you please guide me how i can change my domain. And how i will create opportunities for myself in product design. Pls sir waiting for your reply.
I'm exactly in the same situation, I have 3 years of exp. in fixturing design and I'm paasionate in working automobile industries. But everywhere they are asking for exp. in catia, even if know the software very well.
unfortunately many of us has done mistakes of not building foundation rather focussing more on CAD. now in covid situations some of us are paying heavy price for these mistakes.
I am very much interested In product design...but my sketching skills are poor...but my software handling is quite good...all I want to ask is ,does product design requires good sketching skills?
For automobile design Catia and UG NX are good. For home appliance Creo is good. Recently, Solidoworks is becoming popular with medium and small industries.
Sir i have a doubt. Now a days trending is in industrial4.0&AI&Machine learning&Hybrid vehicles. In mechanical Engg. How was the future in design engineer! Please reply!!
EV design is Product domain and you still need foundational elements. Industry 4 or Machine Learning are different than design. They are upcoming technology for sure. If that is your passion, you can persue it as well.
It depends upon which calculation you want to learn. Books could be great source to learn calculations. There are handbooks, books on SOM, TOM, Heat Transafer, Hydraulics and pneumatics which you might have used in Engineering.
Both the domains are good. In fact, I suggest to learn both the domains because as you grow in career, you have to deal with both plastic and sheet metal parts in product. Safe bet to start is plastic design because of high application in automobile as well as non automobile companies. And, as you master plastic domain, start learning sheet metal as well. Design engineers with knowledge of both these domains are in demand with industries for sure.
Hello sir... I'm in 7th semester of B.E. Mechanical Engineering...at mid 4th sem offline education was stopped and online education system started which is very less effective...very less months are left for completing my Engineering..in near months campus placement will take place... but I'm so confused about that.... because I have very less practical knowledge because I haven't done it due to covid Lockdown...I'm learning subjects from online references and I started learning AutoCAD 2d and Creo... But due to problem in laptop..I couldn't learn far... Still I'm learning it via online references....I can't afford new laptop for learning that now....I am very demotivated because I don't have that much knowledge which a student should have in this time... please suggest me things on which I should spend time and learn... Reply please if u read!
Yes, may be for MNC's or Big brands. But if you focus on right skills and domains, you can still start your design career with small scale or medium companies, gain experience and then gradually move to MNC's. After some point of time in career, experience and skills matter more than education record.
Kevin ji namaskaar. After a total of 8 years of service & having a family now, I realise now that i should've become Product design Engineer. With entire 8 years of experience in Product development & Project management, i have taken a U-turn and started studying the foundation part of Mech. Engg, at least the important topics in each subject, to start with & cope up faster. Please guide me with an approach of bouncing back & catching up fast as I need a job at same level where I left, to support my family ! Waiting for your reply !
Nothing impossible in this world if just strive and never give up on our dreams. You should list down the knowledge and skills (based upon my videos) and focus to learn these knowledge areas first. You can learn them through books, through mentor, watch TH-cam videos and self learning or you can also join short term courses to develop these skills. Trainings makes learning process faster. Keep learning target and follow it. Update your resume to highlight skills which you learned. Development knowledge will definately help.
I wish you were in my college days, to give me this career path clarity, 10 years back. Thank you so much !

@@mechanicalvault sir what's about my suggestion???
In Manufacturing domain one doesn't need to be expert in all the domain any two or three will be alright.

Sir, sharing a certification course for sheet metal designing would be highly appreciated.
Sir, Thanks For this Excellent Information.
Which Domain is Simple, Product Or Tool?
Both domains are challenging. Product Design for sure has more opportunities compared to tool design though.
@@mechanicalvault sir I have few doubts regarding my career path to get start in design, can yoi share your contact that I can talk with you please?

Hello sir, how to get job into R&D as a design engineer ? Thank you sir🙏🏻😇
Learn Mechanical Design Domains and how to prioritize the learning to maximum career growth!
sir which domain has future scope in electrical vehical design?sheet metal ,plastic,or biw fixture
EV domain drives weight reduction and that means plastic design [apart from aesthetics] is very crucial domain.
BIW fixture has nothing to do with EV.
Sir i m currently working in jig and fixture but i want to switch in product domain which product domain is best for .. Plastic or Biw
According to me, Plastic Design has more opportunities compared to BIW.
