I think Mayo might be a perfect mix for a coach. He was a top of the league competitor. He was an incredible player and he's aware of the amount of work that it takes to compete at the highest level. He's also aware of what it looks and feels like to be on a championship winning team and how some of the best players the league has ever seen got to where they were. At first he worked under and then worked with the greatest coach of all time starting in 2008. Despite belichick's greatness he has never played the game professionally. Mayo has, and when he did he was up there the cream of the crop of the league. I also believe he has the right temperament for leadership. There's a lot to like with Mayo being HC and I think he'll continue doing great work for our pats. We're in good hands.
My only concern is the head trauma from making as many tackles as he did throughout his life. But that's probably more of a long-term issue (if it is at all). Like you said, he has all the tools to be a great coach.
It feels like Mayo still has a lot of BB in his style of coaching. I don't think you'll see Mayo putting guys in a position to fail. I would like to see one of the tight ends playing a bit of fullback when needed. Devlin was a huge secret weapon that the other teams missed on what to do with. We're on to Seattle! One game at a time and work, work, work!
that's the shocking part! i mean we're not talking about this dude moving to some other scheme which is what i'd expect from matt patricia taking over he'd alter every god damn thing and we'd start from scratch. this guy has obviously been the right choice all along hence why kraft swooped in like a buzzard to pick the carcuss clean, But what amazes me is how similar the team looks to it's earlier roots. truth be told, bill's knowledge and tactics were like the hope diamond to me. priceless. priceless! you can't simply throw that shit out and grab some pete caroll knock off. it simply won't do. this is the best situation i could hope for. i do wish bill was here but from what i'm hearing, he may have been dragging his feet. i think that was a result of the jimmy garoppolo deal. in the universe where jimmy is still a patriot bill has the all time record and 2 more rings.

Never in history has a fan base and media been excited about a QB who just threw for 120 yards. It was an embarrassing performance by him, but he’s being celebrated. Brissett didn’t win that game, the D did.

I’m saying this was the most pedestrian game by a patriots QB in years, maybe decades, and the media is acting like he had a good game.
