Great informative video. During the covid19 pandemic the way the assessments have happened for the ambulance service student paramedic programme (from my experience) as follows: -online Microsoft teams interview once you've been shortlisted -invitation to a 1 day assessment -highway code test MCQ -licence check followed by practical road test (mine lasted 20mins) -fitness test (don't believe the stories some say about the difficulty of the test). There are videos on YT about the types of fitness evaluation tests. -the fitness test I did included: grip strength test using dynamometer, leg and back strength test using dynamometer, sit and reach test, step ups with kettlebells followed by 2 minutes CPR. Prior to the physical test you fill out a health questionnaire and have your BP checked.
Another fab video Ayaz. Very informative and well presented and, my gosh, I had no idea you had to go through all that. Even more respect! Keep them coming x
Great video- loving getting a deeper insight into how to become a paramedic. Aha a fitness channel would be ideal as my cardiac fitness could defo do with some improvement, and just my general fitness levels to be honest aha :)
Great video Ayaz. I have 2 question. Can people with breathing problems become a paramedic as I have Rhinitis where the airways don’t open up properly and sometimes it makes it hard for me to breath?. Can people with anxiety and depression become a paramedic?. I was gonna watch the video last night but watched it today instead as I was singing to music yesterday to help with my anxiety and depression as been having lots of panic attacks lately and been depressed lately. But music tends to help.
No some ambulance services are still running the in service route however you will be at uni for a longer period of time as you will have to complete a BSc as of 2021 👍🏽

Yes and yes
does anyone know what the best course for college is to do for paramedic? would it just be science?
Isn't the ambulance service route not possible as of 2021? Only paramedic degree or apprentaship, I hope I'm wrong. Or at least in most trusts
