Soojin leaving will always be a hole in the heart but while everyone has been saying Tomboy has shown them "pissed off", (G)I-Idle has always been furious, they just have a way of channeling that into some of the most creative music videos put to film. Glad you two are going to be able to see them live.
I think the thing that needs to be appreciated about Uh Oh is that the whole thing is an homage to 90s hip hop. So the video is deliberately like that to match the way videos were shot back then. As a homage, it's near perfection.

As you may or may not already know, Soyeon writes and produces most of G-Idle's songs. This group is mostly self made. So if you think they have a similair sound/style with their music it's because of Soyeon, all the songs you've reacted to so far mainly produced/written by her (collabing with other people).
In the case of Oh My God she wrote it herself and chose to use female pronounce specifically, to quote her "lyrics represent love in many forms". (Side note: The english version is heella gay lol ya'll need to check out the lyrics for that one because 😳)

A bit of dephts on Dumdi Dumdi:
Dumdi dumdi is a summer song, written/produced/composed by Soyeon. The whistle, like in Hann (-Alone) are made by Minnie.
The song is a bright song that have a lot of meaning, the song is created by present Soyeon for future Soyeon. The heat, and bright concept/lyrics are a reference to the youth, which also refer to her love for the music world. Soyeon is an artist that is really deap into music since she was a child. She love doing music and being an artist more than everything else and it is part of thefew things she do when she have time.
The song aim to makre Soyeon remember the "good old time" were she loved doing music and enjoying being with the group !

Is refering to a time in the futur where she might lose her love for the music, her passion for this. So she is asking people to make her remember this song to light up the flame again.

I-DLE always have deep meaning in their music, it doesn't matter if it's producer Soyeon, Minnie or Yuqi, they always try to convey fealings or a message by making it.
They are seen as the Queens of concept because they never stick to a concept, the moto of the group is to fight prejudice while doing what they like. They see their music as a gift they give to us, whil being able to be free. Free to talk about anything, and release their fealings which they can not always do due to the fact that "they're celebrities".
You can't always like everything every artist do, or even like every artist. But all I want and hope is that everyone respect them for what they are achieving, because they are speaking their mind in an industry that don't let artist doing it freely.
And adding to that... They are a really wholesome group off stage, they have a family chaotic vibe and I love it !

When you call Soojin it makes me very emotional. I know that people know them because of Tomboy. They love those 5 girls. It's fine, very normal. I really envy them for being able to enjoy every moment with the girls. Every time I start to be happy because of those funny moments I feel hurt at the same time. It's not because I don't like the others, of course not. I really like them, I've been following them since debut until now. They are so pretty, their songs are good, they love each other, they love their fans, everything is good just not perfect anymore. And then in the next 3, 4 years they will be busy with schedules, comebacks, new relationships, new stories that will fill the void she left in the members' hearts. She's a silent person, with a few friends, only family, does she have enough to fill the void in her heart?
The old songs will be performed again with the 5 members, everything is as if she never existed. Even if we have 6 members in our hearts forever, is that okay enough when the truth is that she's no longer there?
I really hope that the people around help her lift her spirits so that bad things don't happen. Eat well. Love yourself so much.

I luv them from the very start and i knew they were gonna blow up. I am still mad at Cube ent cuz they really drop the ball when it comes to their artist, especially with them. G-idle is their cash cow. Dont get me started with my bias who they kick out. Unforgettable!!!!!
How is GIDLE their cash cow? So far Pentagon sold 99,399 albums, BTOB sold 123,780, and GIDLE sold 193,000 albums in 2022. All of the groups are selling pretty well so I don’t think just one group is supporting Cube Entertainment.
And that doesn’t include the money Cube makes from variety shows, acting gigs, modeling/endorsing, and copyright/songwriting credits. Currently BTOB is 1 of 5 groups that make A LOT of money for appearing in variety shows. There isn’t just ONE artists or group that keeps Cube in business, it is all of them working hard to achieve their dreams and goals.
@@cindih78 gidle is their main money maker now. So far they sold 300K+. Each member has their own activities. Tomboy is still on top 3 in all platforms 2 months after the release. They earned 2billion won in china in a span of 2 months. Months after, they will have their first world tour with more than 30 stops.

"Latata" always blew my mind as a debut (even if it was a bit too Soyeon focused). Personally my top 3 (G)IDLE title tracks are "Hann", "Hwaa" and "Señorita". 😅
While "Oh My God" shocked me and impressed me so much visually and musically, it's maybe less repeatable for my ears but I enjoy it from time to time especially with reactors like you. The others are OK but I really like Yuqi (my bias and she is a good friend with DC SuA) and her "solos".

Idle being there in the beginning on 4th gen with i-trinity (izone, idle, and itzy) and still on top competing with new monster Rookies on 4th gen (newjeans and Ive). What a steady yet incredible growth of success!
I have watched K-Pop from 2nd Generation. I have not seen a Girl Group so different than this group. Maybe because they are the ones who produce their own song and video.
Some groups are different too but they always follow the same trend again which G-Idle never does.

Theres none any other gg or bg that can pull a concept like g idles Uh Oh. That song is just soo different to music that other kpop groups that made their concept so fat. Not saying to compare good music or not but talking about the concept itself, g idle uh oh is just authentically persuade their style of music genre and also g idle known as Queens of concept and they are tho. YEEEES FINALLY MY FAVORITES SONGS!!! I understand your opinions about Uh-Oh bc at first i didn´t like it but with time listening it grew in me. But really oh my god is from another level. And Ozlem is totally right with G-IDLE they have a lot of songs with different taste and is normal when you like some of their songs and not all, I like almost all their songs but there are some that uhmmm not my style.

I think that the music video "Uh-Oh" is the exact reason you cannot classify "K-pop" as a specific genre, rather than that, it is the same genre as every pop music around the world. As you said, I do agree that "Uh-Oh" is very 'western' stylized, and doesn't match what we classify as "K-pop", but that is because there isn't really such a thing, Pop is such an open genre that it can be pretty much everything. "K-pop" is in reality just a pop genre which is sung in Korean but doesn't have any boundaries in terms of what style it should be. Anyways, great reaction! I really like people reacting to (G)I-DLE, as many of their videos are breaking the boundaries of what we know as "K-pop" as they are stylized into Latin, American or even European styles, which is why they are my favorite group!

Also risky was SJ's solo performance. (risky due to it being in SK and how conservative they are and also due to the young , but very "internet vocal" youth there also ... mainly due to anon)

As I said in the previous video of reactions to the Idle clips, everything changed for me after their participation in Queendom.
I don't know if you've seen "Lyon", but this was the song that TURNED THE KEY FOR ME to how good this group was! Soyeon's genius, in line with the girls' refined vocals, is outstanding. "Lyon" is practically an anthem!
"Oh my God" is another ICON. And again, Soyeon's brilliant mind teases us with deep lyrics and many interpretations. This song is a punch at false moralism in Korea, in my opinion. Soyeon still puts me LATIN in the music, just to give more refinement to this masterpiece.
Yuqi and Minnie deliver PERFECT vocals! MiYeon at the height of her beauty with this god aesthetic. On the other hand, Soojin with this seductive aura is almost an invitation to madness.

(G)I-dle was on the brink of a possible disbandment if their "Tomboy" full new album comeback didn't make it big enough. that's once said by Soyeon in an interview for their most recent comeback - Tomboy. guess what, the comeback was such a success in reviews, views, sales, music show weekly trophies and charts. this comeback totally ruled out any possibilities of disbandment but the other way around. it brought them back to the top female Kpop group A-list and made their future look promising even with the departure of Soojin. we gonna have at least a few good years from (G)I-dle from now.

i used to hate when my highschool classmate play super junior music or girl generation in our class. suju and snsd was really a thing in my country. i dislike kpop music so much back then bcs i have prejudice about how it sounds.
then couple years later in july 2019 Uh-Oh show up in my yt recommendation (maybe bacause i watched league of legends videos alot and gidle is part of one of their project), i watched it and suddenly brought so much memory of my childhood, and break my prejudice about kpop music especially girl group. i've blown away, i really like it. then i start digging in to kpop, until where i am now a whole kpop stan.
as person who born in early 90, boom bap hip hop has special place in my heart. there were alot of cool hip hop musics back then when i was a kid.
