      He mentioned that this Buick had carburetor problems. Would it dilute the authenticity if he did an EFI swap.
      Electronic Fuel Injection might be too space age but apparently it is more reliable.

      The interior has nothing to do with the rest of the car! Is the wood paneled grandma couch flavor, quite tacky realization if you ask me😂, i would understand It if done in more NASCAR feel "street replica" but like that is a Little too much rice, that interior would be wonderful for someone who Is restoring one, i love Vgg but i would never be caught dead in that thing

    Derek and his beautiful wife and kids are what the world should be. He doesn't have to do anything more than his normal videos, but they care so much about their fans and members that they go the extra mile for them. To me this is why they are so successful in whatever they do. I only hope that the millions of viewers that watch this family spread the love of country and dedication that they have and spread it to all of their friends and family to make our country and the world a better place for all. I just started watching this video and really like the way Derek presents this old tribute to Nascar Buick. I think it would be cool if there was glossary, or reference list , of "Derekisms" (sparkolators, sparkwhirlers, fuel-make-it happeners). Hey Derek, loving your videos all the way down here in Australia. I know it would be a huge expense but I'd love to see you with a dyno. With so many different projects and drive trains it would be awesome to see the before and afters for each car. Even if it was just a tune after a resurrection it'd be great to see what a few turns on the fuel makeithapenner and a twist of the old lightningwirler could do in terms of some extra horsepowerseses. Keep up the great work mate.

    • @MrWolfSnack
      @MrWolfSnack 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You would be amazed how cheap you can get a basic vintage, run-down dyno for. I see them sometimes being sold by race car teams that find them in some old barn or something that hasnt been run in decades with no care to fix it because they can afford a brand new one. They just sell them for a pittance. The technology doesnt change at all, it just gets rated with a higher top end measurement as cars and engines get faster. One from the early 90s would do a basic DIY guy just fine.

    I bought an old Dart from a friend of mine for sixty bucks, because he changed the plug wires all at once. He couldn't get it to run no matter what he did. My best friend and I towed it home, grabbed the Chilton's and had that Leaning Tower of Power purring in ten minutes. I had learned my lesson. I always change the plug wires one at a time. Even years later, I had bought a little Toyota Hilux (Daddy to the Tacoma) and it developed a vacuum leak. Rather than chasing vacuum leaks for a year as the rest or the lines got cracked, I bought about 2o feet of vacuum hose and did the same thing. Take one off, use it to measure the new hose, install it. That little truck had so many lines I would never have gotten them all right any other way. Thanks again to you and your family for all the great content, and your dedication to America and veterans. All the best to you, always.

    Advice on de-pinning harnesses like that. Buy some of the rubber plugs for the connector and put them in the holes where you removed the wire to maintain the water resistant rating. Or put some rtv in the hole. De-pinning and leaving the holes open will result in corrosion of the connector. Not sure if Holly includes the plugs but would be a nice addition to the kit if they don't.

    man i grew up in the back seat of my grandpas 82 cutlass supreme and my first car was an 84 el camino. I'm probably a lot younger than most of your fans (and you), but seeing that interior shooted a guy through a time machine. I have to say, 80s gbodies are some of the greatest cars I've ever driven. Great first car for a kid interested in cars. 305s got just enough to get you in just a little bit of trouble, great aftermarket support, they ride so cushy, and i have to think they're fairly safe compared to the 66 nova i thought was going to be my first car.
