I have been giving my now 12 and14-year old dogs Pup-Peroni treats since they were pups. I have never thought of reading the back. Lately I got a 9 week old pup, full of energy, and decided to start feeding all three healthy food and treats. They will no longer touch the dry kibbles. Thanks so much, I learned tons from your dogs, er, from you! Blessings!

It has worked for me, tell me what happens, thanks, I do recommend this!

Our boy has a fairly sensitive stomach we've seen & no doubt this will help us get his gut even happier! The jackpot trick is also really helpful to know - will be trying when we work on recall.

I’ve been using Fruitables to train my pup while on walks. They have a decent ingredient list. They’re baked (cookie texture), and my pup seems to value them over beef liver and cod skin, which is what I use at home. That makes them great for working on reactivity outside the house. My favourite thing about them is that they’re only 8 kCal per treat, and they can be broken into 7 pieces. They aren’t grain free, but I believe in feeding my pup a balanced, omnivorous diet that is high in protein.

YES!! Thank you so much for making this video. My Goldendoodle is ESPECIALLY picky when it comes to food and treats, plus he has a sensitive tummy. I haven't had a puppy in about 18 yrs. Adopting an 8 week old male tomorrow!!! So excited! These videos have been SO HELPFUL! We have a 10 yr. old cat now. I've learned with him about good vs bad ingredients in food and treats. The pup we pick up tomorrow is a Pit Mix that is through an animal humane org. and the Mom and pups are in foster care. Since its been a while since I've had a pup, I've learned SO MUCH about crate training, potty training, feeding, etc! Thank you so much for your time and the educational information you share!! I will definitely continue watching your videos and learning as I work my way through the puppy stages! I'll be following your advice on crate introduction and potty training!

For his fry food we got from Petsmart, Authority Veterinarian Recommended. First 6 ingredients: Deboned Chicken, Chicken Meal, Brown Rice , Corn, Corn Gluten Meal.
He has been itching a lot, licking paws , no fleas though he was prescribed a Nexgard chewable when he got vaccinated.

Thank you for this video, very helpful. Some other tips call treat manufacturers as they do not have to label industry's standard chemicals and handling. Plus check when package changes or new company take over. We have to ask ourselves do we want these chemicals in our homes and our kids handling and possible eating them, for me it was a definite no. Our dogs made us change our foods too we are all healthier now. I can now share this video, tx. We use turntables or chopped baked chicken. Prayers to the journey and find joy each day.

I got some Fruitables Skinny-mini Dog Treats for my two new pups (morkies). I threw away the bag, but will look before I buy next time. I trained today with some Raised Right puppy food that I ordered on your recommendation. It would not stick together and was too messy for me to want to use another time. I will use another type of treat for training; I think the dry treats make more sense for me. Also, one of my pups (my emotionally high-maintenance one - lol) got sick after the Raised Right food. Not sure why, but will try to just feed them a couple of bites tomorrow. Thanks for all your videos/help!

We are getting a toy poodle puppy in a few weeks and I came across your training videos by searching TH-cam and I’m learning Sooo much!! There are so many things I did not know about puppy training, and I’m now constantly watching them. We live in Canada with very cold winters so I want to basically potty train on pee pads, as opposed to taking him out in the cold and snow, so have been learning from you how best to do that. Because toy poodles are so small, the pee pads work really well. And your advice on getting training treats...
    Excellent!!!

    Good morning Rachel,
I’ve really been enjoying your videos on your diggs crate training , treats, food, and training. In June or July we will be getting a medium size English golden doodle puppy that will be about 7 to 8 weeks old. In your opinion what would be the best pet supply place to order items from. We plan on getting a large diggs crate that will grow with our doodle and of course the bed and the trainer that you can freeze food to. Any advice that you can give us would be greatly appreciated. I will keep watching your library of videos as I’m sure that I will have more questions that will come up. Love watching how you interact with your boys and you can tell that they are greatly loved.

I just buy like 3 packs of chicken tenders(not frozen actually real raw strips from the meat section of the store) and grill them and cut them into 1/3 peaces. Just cook up like 3 days worth at a time and keep the rest in the freezer until needed. And it honestly cost about the same for 3 packs of chicken tenders as a bag of dog jerky. The dog jerky is like $13-15 a bag and 3 packs of real chicken straps cost about $18. My dog absolutely loves them. And it's just high protein white meat.

I have found the Himalayan yak cheese sticks to be a great treat for my rescue dog. I always supervise him when he has one and he doesn't get one every day. They are long lasting, especially for an aggressive chewer and he loves the taste. I always take it away when it gets too small (the small pieces can be microwaved to make a crunchy cheese puff).

Hi picked puppy up and he is so cute. We have only had one accident in doors and he now waits at French doors each time he wants to go out.
Last night he went though the night 10-6:30am with no accidents. So proud of our little man. If you thinking of buying a pup, go for it .

For the pet parents that are on a budget like me the vita essentials she showed in this video is what I use and they love em you can get 1 lb bag for $27-30 depending on what flavor you wanna get obviously it’s not as cheap at dollar general brand but it helps em out a lot

I have a shorkie and a mini bernedoodle. Their treats include their kibble, a bully stick chew, frozen pumpkin/yogurt treats or the "high value" treat is the dried beef liver (single ingredient). Their snuffle mat would be treated with kibble and the liver treats. I try not to do this one too often though because it means their calories will be adjusted during dinner. They do get their treats when they go out and potty...toward the end of their training sessions when I see they're getting tired (helps to keep them focused)...and I keep the high value treats in my pouch when I'm taking them for training and I know there could be distractions (a park/store where there could be kids and lots of noise). I did try the freeze dried minnows because I saw them used in the videos here...but that gave them BOTH horrible diarrhea...so yeah, not using that anymore.

My puppy is 9 wks old and we use Bixbi training treats. She has only had the chicken flavor but I do have a bag of bacon flavor. I'm double-checking the ingredients but this brand was recommended by my Aussie Labradoodle miniature breeder.

I’m getting a new puppy next week. I haven’t had a puppy in a long time. I recently lost my oldest dog, he was 15. I’m starting over but I’m so excited for our new journey. My question is what is the best treat for toy poodle puppies?

Potty training is going fairly well. My problem I have is that even after I’ve just taken my puppy to potty, I will put her in her playpen area to help with the separation anxiety so she doesn’t follow me around the house and even though she has just gone potty outside she will Pee in the playpen. I feel like she is showing me her disapproval of being separated from me. Usually it’s just a little wet spot since she doesn’t have much left in her bladder but she does it every single day. I’m trying to keep her contained in the playpen so that she doesn’t have a run of the house when I can’t supervise her. Any thoughts? I don’t want to crate her constantly. She crates for sleep during the night and she crates for naps when I leave the house. But if she’s awake she wants to be next to me at all times. So I use the playpen to keep her out of trouble and allow her to be part of the family without having the whole house open to her disposal.

Hi! This was a really informative vid! I was wondering what would be a better alternative to flour in homemade treats since i dont feel comfortable feeding my pup store bought treats. I googled some and most dog treat recipe have flour, but hearing you dont feed your dogs flour makes me worried.. :-( what would be a good alternative to flour in home making treats? Should i try to dehydrate my own tripe? Hahaha

Great informational video my only problem is when people say they don't buy things with ingredients they can't pronounce. I have a hard time pronouncing phytosterol and 8-hydroxylinalool but they're both naturally found in blueberries. Things can sound scary when using technical terms, and don't get me wrong some really are, but it's all about sitting down and doing some researching.

  • @rachelneale7614

Hey Rachel, I am a new pup mum and would really appreciate your help. What treats (especially for puppy training) do I give an 8-month fussy puppy? I have already tried milk treats and 'love 'em' beef and liver puppy rewards. She has thrown up today and doesn't seem interested in frozen plain yogurt or peanut butter on a soothing mat. Thank you
